what would ur starting five of all time be? mine would be PG-Isaiah thomas SG-his airness SF-Larry Bird PF-Bill Russell C-Wilt Chamberlain I hope this hasn't been done before
PG: Magic Johnson SG: Michael Jordan SF: Larry Bird PF: Bill Russell C: Shaquille O' Neal (IMO a better player than Wilt because Wilt had no competition because of his size)
C-Shaq PF- Tim Duncan(I would say Karl, but Duncan just because of his success.) SF- Larry Bird SG- MJ PG- MAgic Johnson The best back court in basketball is easily MAgic and MJ, but the front court is debatablle. Like MAgicFan said if Shaq played in Wilts time he would have similar or better stats.
pg ... Magic sg ... Jordan sf ... Bird pf ... Garnett c ... Chamberlain Power forward is the tough one, but I'll take Garnett.
My team: PG- Pete Maravich SG- MJ SF- Bob McAdoo PF- Bill Russell C- Lew Alcindor not Kareem he was a better player IMO when he was Lew, my opinion is not based on his religious beliefs as Kareem, but his playing ability.
You have to piece together a starting five that could play off one another if you infact wanted the most productive team. Here would be my ALL-TIME starting five, not just the five best players at their postion... PG: John Stockton (10.5 Career APG; Doesn't mind sharing) SG: Michael Jordan(30 Career PPG; Nearly 50% Career Field Goal) SF: Peja Stojakovic (Shot 43.3% From 3-Point Last Season, Able to play off of others with his deadly jumpshot) PF: Dennis Rodman (7 Straight Seasons as League Leader in Rebounds; 13.1 Career RPG) C: Dikembe Mutombo (4-Time Defensive Player of The Year - Most Ever; 3rd ALL-TIME in Blocks Per Game - 3.2 BPG; On Pace to Become 2nd ALL-TIME in Career Blocked Shots) I really think this team would gel, their roles would be clearly defined and no one would be forced to play outside of their elements. Peja would hit his open jumpers and shot his threes, Stockton would run the show and make the neccesary passes, Rodman would provide defense and rebound, Mutombo would block shots, and Jordan would provide the dominate scoring threat along with his late game greatness. I truly believe this would be the greatest TEAM you could select that would actually come together as a TEAM on both ends of the floor, covering all aspects (shot blocking, free throw shooting, rebounds, percentage, shot blocking, scoring, defense, offense, assists, etc.) ITS A TEAM GAME...
Here's mine: Pg: John Stockton Sg: Julius Erving Sf: Larry Bird Pf: Karl Malone C: Wilt Chamberlain I moved Julius Erving to Sg because I think he would do better in that position.
king james x3 that is truly a terrific team u put together there, if these guys would have played to gether while all in their primes they would have been "mini-dreamteam" because there was of course no tem like the original dream team(sh*t u americans have a lot of terrific talent to choose from to ur nationals while icelanders have one decent player )
John Stockton needs a dominant big man to thrive. His bread and butter was the pick-and-role with Karl Malone. He's not going to be able to run that play effectively with Rodman or Mutombo.
PG- Magic Johnson SG-Tracy McGrady. HA! Michael Jordan. SF-Larry Bird PF-KG, with TD very close second. C- Wilt Chamberlain (like Shaq has any competition now because of his size either)
PG: Magic Johnson SG: Michael Jordan SF: Kevin Garnett PF: Moses Malone (it was close between him and Russell) C: Wilt Chamberlin A front line of Garnett, Malone, and Wilt is just amazing to think about. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting PupMelo:</div><div class="quote_post">5- John Stockton 4- Kobe Bryant 3- Larry Bird 2- Amare Stoudemire 1- Shaquille O'Neal</div> I am interested to see how Shaq runs the point
PG - Jason Kidd or Magic Johnson, same thing SG - Air Jordan fsho SF - Larry Bird PF - Kevin Garnett C - Hakeem Olajuwon
PG - Magic SG - Air Jordan SF - Izzo PF - The Big Ticket CC - The Diesel Hands Down would destroy any team. 2nd PG - Zeke SG - King James SF - Bird PF - Tim Duncan CC - Wilt Chamberlain
