Its late at night and I was just messing around, dont feel good but this is what I came up with:

L.A. Trades: Chucky Atkins, Kareem Rush, Jumaine Jones
L.A. Receives: Jeff McInnis, Desonga Diop

Cleveland Trades: Jeff McInnis, Desonga Diop
Cleveland Receives: Chucky Atkins, Kareem Rush, Jumaine Jones

I think its is pretty fair and I think McInnis would be great for this team, he could take so much pressure of of Kobe...

^I don't think the Cavs would do that deal simply because McInnis is such a big part of their success...last year they were struggling until they traded for him ... then they played great with him, and when he got hurt, they went down the tubes....so I think they would more than likely keep him unless they get some unbelievable offer

That is a great point, a cold really can mess up your train of thought. I didnt even think about that, but damn I would love to have him here in L.A.

I like the trade, but McInnis is staying in Cleveland (like NMG says). :P

OT: What happened to "I love the cold" tough guy..lol [IMG]

on topic...um, if memphis dismantles, I'd like the Lakers to take a shot at Earl Watson ... he would be a solid backup to Atkins at the very least and would give us the defender we need at the position

Off Topic: Oh I still love the cold lol, but everything has its negatives...

On Topic: I think Earl would be great in L.A., I was thinking about it the other day, just never got around to trying to put together a good trade.

How about this straight up: Kareem Rush for Earl Watson, I would do it..do you think Memphis would bite?

I'd love to have Boykins in LA...and as far as Earl Watson goes, possibly...but I don't know if any of those guys are trading in their colors anytime soon.

i doubt they would take that simply because they already have a log jam with Wells and Miller, I don't think they need Rush ...

This is just wild thinking but what about Baron Davis? He is from L.A., played his college ball at UCLA, I think he would be able to play alongside Kobe, but my guess is we would have to give up Lamar...do we want to do that?

Nah, B-Diddy couldn't get it done this season when he was healthy...and it may have been due to problems with management...but he's injured now, and Odom is our best rebounder. Mihm just isn't pulling them down.

If we had Malone back, and if Mihm was pulling down alot of boards...I don't know...it's still a big risk.

See I agree with you, we would lose our best rebounder and even if we had Malone, I dont thnk he will be to effective, I think if he wants to be involved with the Lakers he should be a coach type player for the young guns like Mihm and Cook. I just dont think he will be able to produce anymore. All I know is, the Lakers need a true PG because Kobe is doing way too much and I think once we get a true pg our team play as a whole will go up.

if grant can get healthy quick id trade odom for baron...caron is our up and coming sf, in a couple years i think he'll be better than odom is now. davis is a top 3, maybe top 2 pg and despite his need to have the ball to work (possible clashes with kobe) he still dishes out 8 apg to a next-to-inept hornets team...imagine what he could do with the best player in the league to pass to

Agree'd, I think Odom is yes our best rebouder, but in the next couple years there are a lot of great rebounders coming in the league which I think the Lakers could pick up to play pf so I this year take hit in rebounding with Odom, take B Diddy and draft a couple of big built power fowards. I think a Odom/B Diddy trade striaght up would work.

    alright heres my idea...

    L.A. Lakers trades:
PG Chucky Atkins (10.9 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 3.6 apg in 34.2 minutes)
Devean George (No games yet played in 2004/05)
    L.A. Lakers receives:
Pavel Podkolzine (No games yet played in 2004/05)
PG Jason Terry (9.8 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 3.6 apg in 25.7 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -1.1 ppg, -0.4 rpg, and 0.0 apg.

    Dallas trades:
Pavel Podkolzine (No games yet played in 2004/05)
PG Jason Terry (9.8 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 3.6 apg in 25.7 minutes)
    Dallas receives:
PG Chucky Atkins (10.9 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 3.6 apg in 34.2 minutes)
Devean George (No games yet played in 2004/05)
Change in team outlook: +1.1 ppg, +0.4 rpg, and 0.0 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

    why do we do it?
we need a point guard better than chucky. lets face it, as long as chucky is our starter we won't have the kind of starting backcourt we need to be part of the elite teams, not to mention we get rid of george. pavel podkolzine would be thrown in for salary reasons.

    why they do it?
they seem to be trying to phase out terry, with nelly obviously trying not to get fired by playing defense. terry is an offensive pg, something they don't really need right now.

the idea is kind of so-so, cause you have to take into consideration that if they aren't playing terry over harris and armstrong, they probably wouldn't play atkins. then again, they could do it for financial reasons, with atkins and george making less than terry does (all 3 come off the books in the same year tho)

    Memphis/Laker's Trade:

    Memphis Recieve's / Laker's Trade:
    Chucky Atkins (10.7ppg, 2.6rpg, 3.6apg)
    Jumaine Jones (4.4ppg, 3.6rpg, .7apg)

    Memphis Trade's / Laker's Recieves:
    Jason William (9.7ppg, 1.2rpg, 6apg)

    Laker Benefit's:
Get a true pg in Jason Williams who can hit the longe range jumper, is a playmaker, and has great passing skills. Since Williams does not get along with his coaches very well, maybe Rudy T. can connect with him and get him to play on the defensive end the kind of game he should be expected of.

    Memphis Benefit's:
Get to solid rollplayer's in Jones and Atkins who can both come in and score points and rebounds. Atkins is a offensively based point guard and a good tought defender and playing small foward which can help them on defense whch they need.

    Salary:
Salaries match up, I do my homework.

What about Damon Jones from Miami? Last year he averaged 5.8 assists with Mlwaukee and I believe he would be better than Atkins? Any buyers?

DJ is a very valueable asset to Miami and critical to their success. He's the next best 3 shooter in the NBA after Ray Allen. With Shaq, shooting becomes a premium, and having a consistant 3 shooter makes opponents pay for double teaming Shaq.

Plus he's so much more valuable than just his shot. As you mentioned he's had 5.8apg so that means he's doing a pretty decent job of running the Bucks offense. He also had the best AST-to-TO ratio in the NBA so you know he's a good job taking care of the ball.

Anyways he means a lot more to the Heat than another franchise would probably be willing to give up.

He'd take too many shots away from Kobe. That would kill anything we have on the court. Plus, Jones has no defense.

I'd rather have Bobbitt running the point.

Kobe 8 Ball: It turns out DJ is even more difficult to acquire then at first thought. It turns out Wade had personally requested that the Heat take consideration into signing Damon Jones

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">``Damon's a guy that I got a chance to meet last year in rookie transition camp and a guy that, when [Rafer Alston] left, I asked coach to look at. I knew how he played already, so he just had to learn how I played. It just works together.''</div>
