<div class="quote_poster">Quoting chineseafro:</div><div class="quote_post">bobby jackson would be a good pick, but getting him would be tough.</div> Jackson would not be best for this team. He is better suited as a scoring point guard, not what we need. Also, he plays mediocre defense, which also doesn't do Van Gundy any favors. Lastly, Jackson is injury-prone at this age and he could probably not hold up for even 70 games a season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KleinBaller08:</div><div class="quote_post">If we want to trade a PF we need to get one back, cause were already lacking at PF.</div> That's a given. What we're looking for right now is a passing point guard and a defensive rebounding power forward. If we trade one of Howard or Taylor, we'll at least get someone back that'll help us.
Do we really need a PF, i mean, our defense is one of the best in the nba. Our biggest concern should be the hopeless offense that we are producing.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting bplld:</div><div class="quote_post">Do we really need a PF, i mean, our defense is one of the best in the nba. Taylor and Howard are both mediocre defensive players. Taylor hasn't been a particularly good offensive player either the last several games. So many times he gets the ball on the wing, and then he just holds on to it for a couple seconds and launches an off-balance fade-away. Padgett, on the other hand, doesn't waste away the shot clock while he has the ball in his hands, and he makes his decision quickly -- either swing the ball, take the jumper, or penetrate. Other than being afraid of hurting feelings, there's no reason not to play Padgett ahead of Mo Taylor. Howard has played decently in a starting role the last few games, and I guess there's no harm keeping him there for the time being. Spoon, unforunately, is the forgotten man, but I'll stop beating that dead horse.
My bad, i'm just looking at the stats and the game last night. We are around number two in most defensive catagories and real good in the paint. I think we should really go at fortson, seems easy to get yet he is very right for us since we want a rebounder and defender.
We should just get Mark Jackson back and sign Charles Oakley. Theyre slow, but they can probably still play.
Why dont we just have oscar robertson come play for us, and while were at it lets bring jerry west out of retirement. The last thing we need is a bunch of old geezers.

He's getting rebounds like crazy and he's able to put it back to score...is there any chance we could get ahold of him? What position is lacking depth on the Sonic's roster?
The Sonics basically need a scoring big man, which leads me to believe me that we could snatch Fortson from them if we offer Howard or Taylor. Maybe Mutombo too since the Sonics are a doughnut team.
No way the Sonics will give up Fortson. The reason they're winning is the toughness and offensive rebounding from their bigs this year over last year. Fortson is a big part of that.
Do you think we could pull off a trade for Tyson Chandler? He'd be a great fit -- good rebounding, youth, athleticism. And Chicago apparently wants to trade him. Would they bite on Mo Taylor? Mo could probably average 15+ ppg on a team like Chicago.
Now that's an idea that might work. Problem is, Chandler's contract is expiring in a year. Now I'm not sure on this one, but I heard he's looking a pretty big contract and we can't afford giving him a big contract with Yao and Tmac on board..

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orl-...ports-headlines Deshawn Stevenson wants out of Orlando, becaues of his dwindling playing time. He's trade eligible this Wednedsay. In my opinion, the Rockets have a gaping whole at their backup SG/SF spot, and Stevenson could fill it nicely. He's young and plays good defense, and he can create his own shots. It won't fix all our problems, but it would definitely be a welcome addition. What do you guys think? Do we have anyone on our roster that the Magic might be interested in?
I guess Stevenson could be a possibility, but I doubt we have any chance of getting Arroyo. His trade value is very high right now and we don't have anyone attractive enough for the Jazz to bite. Meanwhile, we could groom Stevenson as Jackson's successor at SF, and have him coming off the bench as a swingman for now. In a few years, I think he could be as good as Joe Johnson, if he isn't already.
The nets 4 and 5 should really suck right now since they practically completely lost it. Maybe we can trade one of our power forwards. They probably just need one that can pull down the boards, scoring shoudnt be a concern with that backcourt. I doubt we have anyone that would really fit, maybe padgett or weatherspoon, is there anyone they have we can get. i like the idea of stevenson
Well, Kidd and Jefferson are always welcome if the Nets decide to give them to us. Realistically though, we could use Travis Best, a veteran ballhandler who is capable of producing good numbers with the right minutes. He won't be much of an upgrade over Ward or Sura though, but a nice second/third-string PG.
