When a player is not resigned by their team or is traded, they tend to feel as if they are made out to be not good enough for that team, so they come back and play a real tough game against them every time they meet up. I expect nothing different from Loren Woods and Skip. - I expect the Raptors to try and beat Miami the same way many teams have had success in: The Transition Game. Miami gave up 33pts in transition baskets to Boston the other day after averaging just 11 fast break ppg. The Heat also played a sloppy half of the last quarter in which the Heat blew a 13pt lead down to 2pts and were lucky that Paul Pierce missed a FT to help tie the game. Stan Van Gundy was furious about this and, just from the comments he was making, it sounds like he was kicking some a-- after the game and up till today. - Toronto will also try the "Guard Wade and Shaq and leave everyone else open" strategy that has been so successful for other teams. SVG said it best when he said that teams don't seem to be impressed by the other players we have on the court besides Shaq and Wade so they feel as they don't need to focus on guarding them. Miami will try and set the tone early in the game, probably with Udonis Haslem and Rasual Butler, to let the other team know that our other players can and will score on them. Get your preds in early and earn some credibility amongst your JBB peers.
What the heck, Raps by 6. Miami has been letting teams get alittle too close, Toronto's hungry for a win, why not?
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Get your preds in early and earn some credibility amongst your JBB peers </div> lol. As for the game, I'm not sure, this one could actually go either way. But, I'll go with the Heat, simply because of Shaq. If Nazr Mohammed can score 25 on us, Shaq could just go nuts. Wade always killed the Raptors last year and it will definetly continue this year. However, the key-factor in this game for us will be Alston. He played horrible at MSG infront of his friends and family and might be a little too pumped once again in his Miami homecoming so I'm not sure. Loren Woods is actually a solid player so I expect him to get his 7 and 10. Vince might show up, he might not. The only way the Raptors will beat them is through the transition game which only Alston can orchestrate to perfection. I really hope Bosh shows up in this game, he's really quieted down since exploding early in the season.
Raptors by 5+. Although I'd be shocked if Shaq doesn't come near or surpass his career high in boards.
Heat win by 10 points Shaq has 55 points, 23-23 FG, 7-15 FT, and grabs 19 rebounds. Wade has 27 points, 6 rebound, 12 assists Rafer has 8 points and 8 assists, he shoots bad because he's too excited Bosh has 16 points and 5 rebounds Carter has 25 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists Bonner has 12 points and 5 rebounds I think that's pretty realistic
Hopefully we contain Dwyane and let Shaq do his thang, because there's no point in trying to stop shaq because he's SHAQ. But keeping Wade to the perimeter is a key factor, if he drives its over but if we can keep him on the perimeter we have a chance. Rafer has a big game we win by 3 in crunch. 101-98 raptors.
daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn what a game. I can't believe Wade missed the game winner. He came back and tied it for us with 5pts but we kept getting killed on the boards.
Raptors WIN 94-92. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Get your preds in early and earn some credibility amongst your JBB peers. </div> Haha, guess nobody except Purple Fever and Buckets get credibility. Anyways, I didn't watch the game itself. looks like Shaq ripped us up as expected with 34 and 17. Dwyane Wade looked normal today (stats wise) as he didn't have a fully rounded game but did well nonethless. Carter once again had one of those really struggling games, which we always end up winning. I'm guessing he was benched again. One of the reasons we must have won. Why does he always shoot 2-9 when he has those 4-5 point games? That's the 3rd time this season. Alston looks like he played solid, same with Bosh. Good to see the Raptors beating the East leading team on thier home court. Now if only we can play like this for the rest of the road trip. I dind't watch the game but I can tell they played the right because hey, they beat the Miami Heat. Or both teams were off but that doesn't seem likely. Kudos to Rose for scoring 23 and knocking those 2 freethrows down. People, fill me in on the details here. I need some analysis.
that was a great game, no??? shaq breaking out and bustin loose! vince carter showing no game but actual defense, milt palacio like him old self. everyone booing eddie jordan for some reason, which i dont know why. the games have got to be like this every day
Man Carter's defense was jsut good, Wade made those 2 shots, but 1 was a tough shot, and the other I was even surprised he took it from so far out, he's real confident with the shot now Carter played real good D though, he stopped Wade's attempt, got a hand on D.Jones, and came back to try and challenge Wade again, impressive, only caught the last 6 mins as I had basketball game [got a dunk ], but it was good.
Yo stan van gundy is piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissssseeeeed. He said it's getting ridicuolous with some of the players. he's said pretty much that besides Wade, Shaq, Haslem everyone else played awful today. Dwyane Wade looked like he was about to cry after missing the shot like when Jordan missed a game winner.
Guess I owe an apoligy to Banks for calling this a easy win for the Heat. The Raptors played well especially VC. Congrats on the win. In the end I am glad the Raptors won, because it keeps the Magic that much closer to the Heat.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Pure Skillz:</div><div class="quote_post"> The Raptors played well especially VC.</div> Are you sure about that?
Unacceptable This was one of the worst perimeter games EVER !!!! :thumbsdow I hate bashing players but if anyone has a pair of Balls, please hand them over to EDDIE JONES. This guy is getting worse by the game. And he can't handle the criticism or the fans booing him. :thumbsdow Van Gundy had plenty to be mad about. Hopefully this lights a fire under these guys and they get their stuff together. He tried a move in the starting lineup with Wesley Person starting. Did NOT Work. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE :thumbsdow E. Jones 29MIN ? 0-4 FG ? 0-3 3PT ? 5Turnovers ? <font color="Red">2 Points</font> W. Person 28MIN ? 1-7 FG ? 1-4 3PT ? <font color="Red">3 Points</font> The rest of the perimeter players shot like crap, but Damon Jones is usually pretty consistent so I'm not getting on him too much. WHAT A WASTE OF A GREAT PERFORMANCE BY SHAQ.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting realdealbneal:</div><div class="quote_post">I think Shaq needs to make Eddie Jones a better player.</div> What more can Shaq do ??? Eddie is WIDE OPEN !!! <font color="Red">Shaq's job is to draw the defense so the perimeter player can drain the shot. Shaq is doing a great job of that.</font> If you are referering to Shaq talking to Eddie so his mentality is different, Eddie Jones is a veteran. With that said I'm sure Shaq is still being supportive of him. How is Eddie Jones shooting CAREER LOWS in FG% Shaq's fault ???
