Kerr's high 5, low 5 by Steve Kerr, Yahoo! Sports November 30, 2004 Each week during the regular season, I will rank the five best teams ? and the five worst teams ? in the NBA. Team records are through Nov. 29. THE HIGH FIVE 1. San Antonio Spurs (11-3) ? Tim Duncan and friends are like a football team that beats you by running the ball down your throats over and over again. They grind it out night after night. But if they need something special, they can always turn to Manu Ginobili. 2. Seattle SuperSonics (13-2) ? The Sonics have shocked everyone and they've racked up wins over some very good teams ? San Antonio, Minnesota, Sacramento and Denver among them. Many fans are anticipating the inevitable fall. But will it really come? 3. Phoenix Suns (11-2) ? The Suns are off to a wonderful start, but unlike Seattle, their schedule has been easy. They'll find out a lot about themselves this week with games against Utah, Cleveland and Minnesota. 4. Miami Heat (10-5) ? Shaquille O'Neal hasn't been spectacular, but he's been healthy. His mere presence is enough to make this team a championship contender. Meanwhile, Dwyane Wade just gets better and better. 5. Dallas Mavericks (10-5) ? As long as Dirk Nowitzki stays healthy, the Mavericks will be fine. He's the best shooting big man since Larry Bird, and he's off to a phenomenal start. THE LOW FIVE 26. Chicago Bulls (1-10) ? The Bulls got their first win of the season in Utah last week. When will the next one come? 27. New Orleans Hornets (1-12) ? The Hornets are really enjoying the Western Conference so far, aren't they? 28. New Jersey Nets (2-11) ? For the past three years, this team was one of the fastest in the NBA. Now it's one of the slowest. 29. Atlanta Hawks (2-11) ? The Hawks are getting outscored by almost 13 points per game. Yuck. 30. Golden State Warriors (3-10) ? Derek Fisher must be going into shock. After winning three titles in five years, he's now on a squad that is basically out of the playoff hunt ? in November. Pretty accurate, I glad not to see the Bobcats in the bottom and thought it was hilarious to see the comment next to the Hornets. lol

Well for now that is accurate Dallas Mavericks are a better team. Though I doubt they will be by the end of the season, remember Minnesota TimberWolves were 9-7 (I believe) this time last year so ...... I do hope for Kevin Garnett's sake that this is just a bad patch and they will finish the year like they did last season. But you got to respect the San Antonio Spurs, great team, every year. Maybe the most consistent team, not a flashy brand of basketball, but they play it well.

It's always amazing to me how someone can sound so intelligent on television, but so idiotic on paper. About the wolves though, they are far from clicking on all cylinders. With Cassel's recent comments there is bound to be some tension between him and Troy. Frankly Cassel isn't producing, and as deep as their bench is they should have a much better record.
