G Damon Jones G Dwayne Wade F Rasual Butler F Udonis Haslem C Diesel 6th Man- Eddie Jones A lot of people resurrected there careers as being 6th men, and I believe this is what Eddie needs to do in order to get out of this slump. In all my years watching Eddie, I have never seen him go through a slump like this before. I cant understand what is going on with him, did he all of a sudden forget how to shoot. If I was him, I would be embarrassed to be making that much $$$ and play the way that I am, i wouldnt be able to even go outside my house to get the paper. Butler is a better starter than Person IMO. Person shouldnt even be on this team. He cant defend, and he cant take his man off the dribble. He is here to hit the open shot and missed a couple bad last night. I would of much rather seen Anderson start last night and maybe defend Rose. I also think Dooling definately needs to play more. The guy is instant energy off the bench.
First off, when things aren't working out, change is good. This lineup works well because DJ is the only permiter threat which seems to give us a consistant performance every night. And until EJ finds his jumpshot it gives other players the chance to contribute. And like you said pb, a lot of players have resurrected their careers by being the 6th man, perhaps this is exactly what EJ needs right now. DJ and Wade can switch guard positions without having to wait for a play to stop. If you notice they both are the assists leaders for the Heat which is a good sign. A lot more passing will go around that will lead to easier buckets. Now the pressure is on DJ to defend and be a consistant threat from outside the arch. DJ doesn't seem to be getting killed off the dribble anymore, he does a good job of helping defend the weak side and returning to his player when the help isn't needed. Also if you notice a lot of more players are not taking him off the dribble anymore and he's actually forcing them to pass. A step in the right direction for the guy who was considered a defensive liability. About Person: His defense has never been great but since SVG is all about "defense first" Person has really stepped up and been a good rebounder and on the dribble defender. He's not as much as a liability as he was prior to the heat. He even had 4 steals in last night's game. BTW PB where did you get this info?
Maybe Stan reads the board lol. I love this lineup and I like what they are doing so far tonight against the Jazz. I definately could see this lineup for most of the season, aside from the times when more height might be needed.
