For the record...if you're going to post in a Laker thread, there's no reason to bring up Shaquille O'Neal, or to call people ignorant names and mock the fans. If your post was deleted, you know why. It won't be tolerated in the Laker forums.

Quoting realdealbneal:

This is something I didn't wanna see. I believe the Lakers walked into this a little too confident.

Kobe was jacking up shots, and there were two reasons for that. One, not a single Laker was playing good at all, and Kobe could've thrown about 40 assists tonight, if everyone hit their shots. Two, Kobe was way too confident in his shot, even late in the game.

Rudy T didn't change his game plan, either. Someone needed to stop Deng, and it shouldn't have to be Kobe Bryant. It's not his assignment.

I blame each Laker...I don't care how they did. Each one was at fault in this game.

Atkins was hitting his 3's, he was like 5-8, why didn't we run a drive and kick out to him, its ridiculous. we have lost 2 game due to bad coaching dicision, why doesnt rudy t. trust other players.

Mihm actually got 16 but still was way to little minutes for mihm.

And with much respect, good game for the Bulls.

I'd have to admit, I was shocked to see the final score...but you guys pulled it off.

    And...welcome to JBB.

A loss is loss, its a team game and nobody stepped up for the lakers. not like last night, Kobe took to many 3's at the end and the coaches did not call that whcih is there responcbility as the coaches. so no one person to blame, its a team game and a team loss.

Let's try and keep Shaq out of the discussion. If anyone comes in here talking about him and trying to turn this into a Kobe vs. Shaq thread, I'll take care of it.

yea my bad, typo. but either way its way to low for him. Rudy T only trusts Kobe on this team, we arent getting far in the playoffs with a coach like that... [IMG]

Quoting heatfan83:

That's hilarious, you guys think no one besides Kobe was landing his shots? As a team, besides Kobe, the Lakers had a total of 22FGM 53 FGAs. That's about 45% which is pretty damn good. There's a lot of players that shot efficiently except one that I know of...

<strike>It's funny because back in the days all the blame used to go on Shaq when the Lakers lost. But now that Shaq's not here I'm amazed how no one is blamin Kobe. He is the leader of this team right? It just shows you how two-faced a lot of people really are.</strike>

Keep your garbage away from the Laker forums. These types of comments are unacceptable.

    -Brandon

Stats hardly tell the story of the game. As for the Kobe being the leader of the team, you better believe he will be blamed for the loss. Why? Because casual fans who didn't watch the game live will see the boxscore and say, "Kobe shot 10 three pointers, there he goes again being a ball hog..."

For those of us who watched the game, the Lakers lost, not because of shooting, but terrible rebounding and sloppy plays with the ball. The Lakers came out flat and didn't find any rhythm until the second half of the game. Atkins had a nice offensive game, but every basket he made he gave right back on defense. The team aside from Kobe shot 45%, but who do you think set them up for those high percentage looks? That's right #8

As for Kobe shooting 9 for 21, the guy is being forced to take a lot of bad shots. His teammates rely on Kobe so much, they bail themselves out when the shotclock is down to 3 or 4 left and expect Kobe to make a shot with a defender draping all over him. I'm not making excuses for his shot selection, because Kobe does a fair share of trying to make difficult shots, or forcing jumpers when he should be driving to the rim, but the fact remains his teammates put him in a lot of tough situations.

As they say in LA, Kobe is the Eric Gagne of basketball. In the 4th quarter he tried to LEAD his team to a win. He scored nine straight Lakers points, starting with four free throws. He then drilled a 3-pointer, raced to the other end to make a steal, dribbled the ball back to the other end and then did a crossover and gave the Lakers the lead with a baseline layup.

After that his teammates went away from Kobe and completely killed the momentum he gave them.

To make things worse the Suns and Kings won tonight, and the Clippers are beating up on the Pacers.

I wuz also dissapointed in the game tonight. I expected them to win, especially when it was KobeTime in the fourth. Couple of those 3's rattled just like Horry's in 2003. I believe the role players minus chucky and his 3's didn't come through tonight. And, also, do we even have a center?!? It's frustrating me. If Vlade is still not 100%, leave him in civies and let him heal so that when he's on the floor, he's productive in some capacity. And it seems to me Mihm plays above average when he's wearing gold or white. [IMG]

Caron is one of my new favorites from that Miami deal. I'm still not warm on Mihm. And these 3, including Chucky Atkins, all have the same problem, inconsistency. Kobe will always be a g whatever jersey he's in. I hope it's till the day he retires.

Frustrating indeed. A big problem for the Lakers is they underestimate teams too much. It sure did happen in the game against New Orleans before they kicked it into gear entering the fourth quarter last week. It's happened with the Lakers years back with their lazy attitude for mediocre teams, and the same scenario occured again last night. No effort on the boards, horrible shot selections, Kobe doing everything on his own while everybody stands like spectators, where is our sense of urgency? We can't have people standing around like idiots not having the will to put everything on the line for 48 minutes of basketball. Somebody out of those 12 players needs to look themselves in the mirrior, and think about what the word HEART means. I am disgusted.

What happened to the Lakers beating up on the Bulls. This game should have been a slam dunk against Chicago.

I Was stunned about this game, and the bottom line is that the Lakers didn't put on a good effort and got the loss because they deserved it.

This is a Laker team that is a great team, perhaps this loss will finally put a fire underneath this team to dominate again.i hope it does.

the lakers won't dominate if they have mihm and divac as their centers.

Check my trade idea, i think it could be positive for the Lakers and the pg situation.

in my opinion, the lakers lost because they played with no heart, there was no drive behind them in that game, it was kobe who wanted to win and the rest.. well i dont know what they were thinking, letting players just jump in and take the rebound, ridiculous. no heart no soul.

Maybe not,but you have no choice to work with Mihm and Divac. There your Centers and the Lakers will have to win games with these guys.it will have to take Kobe and a few others to step up to the plate in order to domniate.

Well put. I drove 5 hours to Chicago to check out the game, so I was very disappointed. Our rebounding was terrible and they showed no heart. However, I was surprised to see so many Laker/Kobe fans in the United Center.
