First of all, he's the worst rookie of the year in the history of the NBA. Then I think we gave up too much to get him. While not particularily attached to either of them, giving up Gooden and Gordan seems a little steep, especially when you consider that he's the same player as Giricek is. We didn't need him, either. Size if where we're deficient, not soft jumpshooters, sadly. Then there's the fact that he came to the team looking to be "the man," apparently not realizing he sucks. For a time there he thought he could handle the ball, too. That era pissed me off to no end. He'd take two dribbles and turn it over every time. Then there's the fact that he's worse than our other swingmen, players who at least pretend to want to play defence and hustle, yet starts anyway. Then there's his facial hair. I'm sure there's more too...
Bummer, well I'd rather have him over Mike Dunleavy Jr still. We need someone that can shoot and actually be the man. I wouldn't care if he had facial hair on his forehead, nobody on this team outside of Cliffy can hit a 3 ball or a long 2 and we need those because we got no post game. He couldn't be softer than Dunleavy. I don't believe it. Mike Miller makes Dunleavy look like a roll of Charmin Ultra.
His shooting percentages are really up this year. He's pretty much shooting 80% and is a 50% shooter from three point land. It's a mix of his ego and his injuries that bug the hell out of me. He acts like he's the best player on the team and always takes the shots himself rather than passing; he's very selfish. All in all though, I just don't like him because he named his kid MavRick. Who the hell does that?
Poor kid. He is going to get teased when he gets to school, big time. I don't like his personality or basketball IQ, either. I never figured how he was so highly rated as a draftee, but there must be something that I'm missing. Aside from all of the facts that point to him taking on a role that's beyond his skills, he's also never learned from his mistakes, either. Thus, he's not really growing as a player.
