Dwight Howard who is currently second in the rookie rankings is averaging a double double this season. While Pau gasol is leading his team in scoring with 17.7 points per game, and will most likely see more minutes with the Czar in town. Who might cut the Griz rotation down to a 8 man rotation giving Pau more time to bring up his scoring average. The Orlando Magic first in the SE conference have won 4 out of there last 6 games, and are averaging over 100 points a game during the last several games. Dont Look for to much Magic from... They have had to guys averaging double doubles the last two games. They need to keep this up against the Griz who have a very good rebounder in Gasol as well as a good rotation at center with Swift, and Wright it will be tough they ar enot under sized like many teams we have faced. * Get a big game from the Franchise and Hill well it is a proven fact they score we win like said before francis and hill combine for 55 points Magic beat the sixers, hill and francis combine for 25 points we lose to the celtics, hill and francis combine for 50 points we beat the Raptors. * I think in this game we should not do what we have been doing in playing a high tempo quick game they have just gotten a new coach with a different style of coaching they do not have many offensive plays set and ready probably for this game the Czar's first game as there coach against Orlando. So if we get them into a half court they may be confused and try and go one on one a lot of times. Side Notes * Howard has only failed to reach double digit rebounding two times in the Magics first 14 games this season, and is currently ranked second amoung rookies in the power rankings. Is proving to be one of the main reasons the Magic are currently fifth in the nba power rankings, and so high in the nba in rebounding. * Jameer Nelson has shown he can perform if he gets some minutes against the Raptors he got 21 minutes and scord 10 points and 5 assists. I have confidence if we put him in there this game he will show people something. * The Magic have I believe only two loses at home this year one to a team from each conference.
I'm new here. Nice thread. These two teams are my top favs. I hate it when they have to play each other. With the way the Magic and the Grizz have been playing, I will say the Magic will win this matchup. The Magic have been on a four game skid with the Grizz. They are due for a win against them. Go Magic!
Yeah welcome. Now about the game. I think Dwight Howard is gonna have a beastly game, probably about 15 and 15. He struggled last game, so he's due for a huge game. (at least the rebounding side of things) Grizzlies have owned us, but they have been struggling and we have owned western teams in the early part of the season. (except for the Trailblazers) I think we will break the streak and improve to 11-5 on the season. Magic 102-97.

55-38 at the half. Other then fouls i think it was a good half. The Magic have to keep it up and fouls down and they should win this game. Cato already has 8 rebounds. Francis has 7 assists and Hill has added 6.
55-38 Magic lead at halftime. Steve Francis has 9 points but 7 assists. Dwight Howard has 1 point and 3 rebounds . Our leading scorer is Grant Hill and he has 14 points (game high). Our leading rebounder is Kelvin Cato with 8 rebounds. We are playing great and shooting over 50%. We have 4 less Turnovers than Memphis. Hopefully we can keep this lead and win this game
Damn Cato continues to impress 12 rebounds his fourth straight game with double digit rebounding. I think that Howard over the last two games has finally been put up against some good compatition and he has not adjusted to it yet that is why he is struggling, and I believe will struggle during the western road trip. Steve Francis and Hill are both on pace for a doube double hopefully we keep it up.
Those refs are dishing out techs like hell. There has been 5 against the Magic and NONE against the Grizzlies and we are the home team. From what the announcer is sayin i can tell that they arent making good calls. They seriosly hate the Magic. Magic will get away with this game though
Recap Magic 96, Griz 91 Another great Magic win Cato for MVP! Ok maybe that is a little to far, but damn another game with a double double his third in four games he ended up with a total of 13 points and 18 rebounds. He is playing like Dwight was playing before these last two games. The Magic did not finish the game well though as they gave a up a blow out lead to only nearly come out of it with a win. We proved we can play with a lead though as we did hold on to it. It was like the Raptors game we gave up a 36 points lead and only won by 20 something, but we still held the lead that is what matters. Ok now for my game match up break down.... Point Guard Steve Francis/ Earl Watson. Steve Francis had another great all around game what more can you say he does it all. he was the court leader out there today again for the team as he nearly had another double double for the Magic with a final stat line of 16/5/8. Earl Watson had probably his best game this season for the griz he ended up with a double double 12 points and 10 assists. On 5/8 shooting from the floor. Shooting Guard Cuttino Mobely/ Bonzi Wells . Mobely did not follow up his 30 plus points per game at the garden with another 30 point outting, but he did score double figures in points. Finishing the game with a total of 11 points, but he basically had a very poor game 4/13 shooting from the floor showing how his play can be inconsistant. James Posey finally showed signs from what made him one of the key players last year for the griz. He scored a season high of 15 points for the team shooting 50% from the floor with 4 rebounds as well, but in the end just not enough. Small Forward Grant Hill/ Battier. Battier had a pretty bad game today he ended with 7 points and 6 rebounds on 1/7 shooting from the floor. Grant Hill on the other hand had a great game finishing with a total team high/ game high of 23 points as well as having a total of 4 rebounds and 7 assists. Power Forward. Dwight Howard/ Pau Gasol. Howard continued his school of hard knocks study today failing to reach double digit rebounding in his second straight game. Howard has had to face two of the leagues better power forwards the last few nights, and has really struggled failing to dominate the boards like he usually does. He finished the game with a total of 9 points and 6 boards. Gasol tonight was just Gasol 20 points a team hgih. As well as 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Cato/ Swift and Wright. Cato for MIP. Thats what I am saying right now the man is playing incredably he has gotten a double double 3 out of the last 4 games we have played and reached double digit rebounding the last four games. Swift on the other side of the ball had a pretty good offensive night 16 points, but also had a season high in the turnover catagory 5 turnovers for a center that is pretty sad. Wright had a decent game also in shared minutes he scored 6 points and 4 rebounds. The game ended with the Griz having 5 players in double figures and the Magic with 5 as well. The Magic won the rebounds battle 43/40 tonight, but lost the assists battle 24/22. Game MVP Points 13 Rebounds 18 Assists 1 FG 4/4 What can I say said the mans name about 10 times in just this post he was a beast tonight, and if he plays like this every night for us we will have a magical year. He is turning out to be the x factor every night for this team, and though its early he is one of my canidates this year for MIP.
Cato did outstanding. He is helping this team win games and without him we wouldn't be in first place in the East. Also, Grant Hill had a good game with 23 points. Francis also had a double double and he is looking great. I am very impressed this year with our squad and our teamwork. I am having the most fun as a Magic fan since Shaq and Penny.
Once again Kato VITAL on defense and got stuck in on the offense. Howard did get a great help out D block, and seemingly learning, more rebounds off him tonight than last night. Hey hes a rookie, there is a learning curve. Francis and Hill again combine to just run the show for us. Mobley 11pts, but when Hill and Francis are dishing out like they were you expect the wealth to be shared, esp with Hedo getting back into the scoring routine. Big well done though, controlling the lead for ALL 48mins, that is impressive I have to say, the pressure gets more and more to keep the lead when you have it so long, esp when it starts to dip to 8 or 6 points.

Cato had the easier match-ups in the last view games than D12, everyone was focusing on D12 and Cato used it to come out and play. I'm also happy, for the first time since Shaq, I think we have again a Center who can compete night in and night out.
What a game from Cato...His blocks at the final minutes made us win the game I have to say. D12 was in foul trouble early in the game, and so did Battie. Great play by Cato. I was so nervous when Hedo missed one and Francis missed one from the line, and when the raptors (Alston?) sank the 3, i was like...O MY GOD........... Francis had 7 turnovers (correct me if i'm wrong), and I think that's too much...way too much. And we nearly gave the game away from the refs. I agreed to OrlandoMagicFan, the refs really just wanted us to lose >"< Nice to see we're 11-5 now. Next game...a win at Denver (hope to see D12 starts a decent game)
