I'm not sure, I'll ask him for you next time I see him.

He is bad most of the time, but once in a while he will show glimpses of a great center. Emphasize on the phrase "once in a while". That dunk he had on Theo in Portland was insane.

Too many Jerome James haters in the world. I've always believed that when motivated he was a top ten center in the league. The question arises, when is he motivated?

To block a dunk attempt of Theo Ratliff and come down the next possession and put one on his head shows you that he can do some things that most centers can't. He has a decent touch and he's an above average shot blocker. I wouldn't mind us using Potapenko as trade bait for future draft picks, especially considering that this team could be dismantled after this season.

There are some witty ass posters in this forum.

Are we counting the Northwest division as a league or something?

he needs to lose weight..hes athletic for his size, can score, rebound and block shots but he shows little desire and commitment to becoming better...he seems content with the type of player he is...he's making the same dumb fouls and mistakes that hes made the past 2 years...he has potential but he needs to show some dedication to his sport...

I'd take James over Potapenko any day, but then I am the hugest Potapenko hater in the world too.

James is pretty frustrating to watch. If he were more mature about everything (work ethic, attitude in game, etc) he would be solid. As is though, I'd rather have an undersized lineup with Danny and Nick.

You've summed the guy up to a T. He is a naturally gifted basketball player, with rare size. However, he also has a low basketball IQ and a poor work ethic. He makes stupid decisions, usually resulting in picking up dumb fouls. What makes him so frustrating is he isn't just a stiff, he is a gifted basketball player who doesn't even look close to ever fulfilling it. Yet, he'll get another contract after this season somewhere because of his size and raw ability. This is while someone smaller and less talented is busting his butt to get even a training camp invite.

I am involved in a charity competition on another site, and my bet is I donate money to the local hospital for every time Jerome gets double figure rebounding in a game. The fact that he's 7'1, and I don't even look like having to get my ATM card out, says it all. I don't think you can teach someone to be motivated and have desire and fire in the belly, at least with Pot you know the guy is going to play his guts out every night.
