I just read that the Blazers were offering Stoudamire and a No. 1 pick for JKidd and I believe the Lakers could make a better offer. If Kobe, Odom, C butler, Cooke and Mihm were untouchable, who would the Nets take from LA's roster along with a No. 1 pick for Kidd. Kareem Rush is off to a slow start but I think he could be a great 2 guard in the right system, look what he did against Minn. in last years playoffs. Also Walton could be a steal at this stage of his career. The Lakers also have a bunch of guys in the last year of their contract that the Nets could dump next year to make room under the salary cap. The Lakers need Kidd worse than any team in the league and would give him a great opportunity in a geat city.
Where is the source for this? Could you post a link? I don't think they would or should for that matter, trade Stoudamire. He's like the team veteran. They should trade NVE if they want to trade a PG. And SAR would finally get out of Portland if they decided to trade him in this. But I find this unlikely.
How about Brian Grant, Kareem Rush, Chucky Atkins and the draft pick for Kidd and Krstic? I think the Nets are under the cap...but I'm not sure. If not, take out Krstic and throw in Mourning, and we'll give away Divac and Atkins. jk
If the Lakers got Kidd, they would probably be the team to beat, I dont see it happening though. If the I was the Nets GM, I would ask for a player like Lamar Odom, or at least Caron Butler along with Atkins and a draft pick for Jason Kidd. But the Nets GM has done some questionable moves, like trading two of their starters for draft picks, so you never know what will happen with the Nets and Kidd.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting thedude9990:</div><div class="quote_post">portland would rule if they can get him and carter</div> I think it is one or the other at this point. Do they have the cap to have both of these stars. It would still be awesome but I can't see it happening. That would give the Blazers: PG: Jason Kidd SG: Darius Miles SF: Vince Carter PF: Zach Randolph C: Theo Ratliff Wow that would be a great team. Since Kidd is older and probably won't be playing for 4 more years, this gives Sebastian Telfair time to get used to the NBA and once Kidd retires, Telfair can emerge as the starting PG and show what he's got.
hey did anyone forget the nuggets could really use j kidd also. i mean if that team wants to get 100 percent out of martin then i think they need kidd. but i guess we'll just have to wait a couple of mor months to find out.
I have yet to hear about Kidd being traded to Denver. He should've just joined the Spurs. Now he's basically screwed over in New Jersey.
Both these rumors are false. The Lakers have nothing to offer outside of giving up Odom or Butler, which I dont think they will do. And Rod Thorn has made it clear on several occasions that a deal with Portland will not be likely unless Telfar is involved. And John Nash has said Portland isnt willing to part with him, so trade talks with Portland has been at a stand still. And probably will stay that way.
Nuggets i heard are very interested in Kidd, i think they were tryin to do a Dre/Tskitsivilli/Camby/Nene for Kidd/ZO?/ type deal
I heard it might be Nene and maybe camby or someone else for just Kidd. I really dont think that Kidd is going to go to portland because the Blazers are most likley going to trade NVE and Reef for Vince and Jalen Rose. The blazers were trying to get Kidd for Reef.

New Jersey would be back in buiness after that trade. I doubt this could happen though. Contracts and money ya know.

Maybe I just missed something huge
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jason Kidd still prefers a trade to staying with the New Jersey Nets, but if the Nets trade him to Portland, the All-Star guard will not report to the Trail Blazers, a source close to Kidd told ESPN.com. Although such a move would almost certainly result in a suspension without pay, the source indicated that Kidd is hoping his stand will discourage the Nets from trading the 31-year-old somewhere he doesn't want to go. Kidd's wish list includes the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Denver Nuggets, the Dallas Mavericks, the San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Blazers have shown more interest that most of those clubs, sources say, even though Kidd has made it clear he doesn't want to play for them.</div> Just read this off of Hoopshype. Comments?
Kidd to Dallas! I saw on TXCN sports with Brady Tinker today, saying that the mavs are really interested in Jason Kidd. It is said that the mavericks may offer jason terry, marquis daniels, and alan henderson for jason kidd maybe even alonzo mourning. I would really hate to see jason terry, and marquis daniles go, but if it would make the mavs better than I guess I'm all up for it. If this trade were to go down, how do you guys think both these teams would change and finish off their seasons?
Kidd won't go to Los Angeles. If the Lakers get him, they won't have any cap space for many years to come. Right now, they already have two players making at or over $10 mil a year and they don't need another. Beyond that, they will likely want to resign Caron Butler, and if they pick up Kidd, that wouldn't even be feasable because of his contract unless Odom is packaged in the deal. And they won't trade Odom cause he is right now, they're best rebounding presncence, and without him, they're a much worse team on the boards. Kidd won't be in Los Angeles. Denver might be my guess, but they'd have to give up Nene from what I've heard, and I've also heard they're not willing to give him up.
If I was to choose, ideally either would work real well infact. This would give Telfair a real good person to learn from as a mentor as a true PG. A role model for him, also it would give him the chance of developing his game through being a role support player coming off the bench to relieve Kidd. As for the Lakers, they're in need of a good PG, I've always felt that G's and the C were the most important players since usually they hold most of the better ends on the floor as well as skillwise. Passing, scoring, defense etc. So since they're lacking there, I'd go for it regardless. Not to mention the fact that there'd be yet another awesome veteran on the team instead of all the young bucks on the Lakers right now.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting SKingsFan104:</div><div class="quote_post">wth, since when did telfair get involved. Maybe I just missed something huge</div> Telfair is what the Nets want. But the Blazers arent willing to give up. Its no secret the Nets want Telfair cause of his tri-state ties being from Brooklyn. And Jersey moving to Brooklyn in 4 years. BNut the Blazers have made it pretty clear no Telfair, thats why I doubt any deal between the two goes down.

So, Kidd to the Lakers wouldn't work. And Telfair wouldn't learn under Kidd cause the Nets want him, and the Blazers won't give him. Therefore, Telfair will never learn under Kidd because they won't be on the same team any time soon.
