Wally Szczerbiak is one of the premier players on the Wolves roster. But what made him so valuable in the off-season is not what makes him needed now. In past years, his ability to hit open shots and shoot a high percentage with his quick release was his "bread and butter". He was horrible when putting the ball on the floor and bad on Defense. Now he does better on Defense and can drive a little more too. He's scoring a good percentage becuase he's getting fouled and shooting well from the top of the key. But his ability to hit open shots has reallllly fallen off. Right now, a defender would probably play the odds better by going to the rim for the rebound instead of defending Wally.

Let's just be thankful to have such a bluecollar workhorse on our team.

remember wally was out for most of the season last year. give him time to get his rhythm back. at least he is putting some more effort on defense this year. we dont really need wally' outside stroke, as we have cassell, spree, hudson and hoiberg who can knock the trey consitently, and we have two great off-screen mid range shooters in KG and cassell.

Yeah plus we got Hassell and Hoiberg playing tight D.

Personally, I'd rather have THIS Wally because he helps us get the the stripe more. He seems to have a better handle on his dribbling and has a better feeling of what not to do.
