Mourning for Doleac & Allen " Alonzo Mourning has been most vocal in his criticism of the Nets for their past moves and uncertain future while making his desire to play for a contender equally clear. Well, the Nets have tried to appease Mourning on all fronts. According to sources, the Nets held discussions with Miami regarding a trade of Mourning for center Michael Doleac and forward Malik Allen, who had back surgery this week and is out for 6-8 weeks. The proposal was shot down as the Heat balked at picking up Mourning's contract, which runs for three more seasons at $17.6 million. Then yesterday, Net principal owner Bruce Ratner and team president Rod Thorn met with Mourning for what was called a "clear the air" meeting. Mourning ripped Ratner after the developer said he bought the team to move it to Brooklyn and not to win a title. Others maintained Ratner gave a broader answer." I know it was shot down...but who knows, anything is possbile Source
This rumor has been going around. I wouldn't think this trade rumor is dead just yet. I still prefer that Mourning buys his contract out and signs for the minimum here.
Yeah Zo has so much money to last him life time already so why not sign with minumum? It's already more than what normal people get annually anyways. As with the trade, do the salary match? I don't know how much ZO gets from the nets...possibly more than what Allen and Doleac get? I'm not sure
are you crazy eddie jones and mourning. $$$$$$$$$$$$ if he gets to buy out. He might come for 1.1. We can set that twin tower thing duncan and robinson had, maybe.
Mourning isn't going to play for the minimum...no way. Not after all the kidney problems. If anything, he'll retire before he accepts a $1.1 million contract. I would even be questioning him if he played for LA for $1.1 million...it would be stupid. Or the Spurs. He's risking a lot just by stepping foot out on the court...so a contract like that would be uncalled for. The Heat have an MLE next season for $5 million. If Zo wants to wear a Heat jersey, he'll ask for money out of that...but just a question: when did Alonzo ever make up with the organization? I thought he left on bad terms?

I thought Riley and ZO were supposed to be like family but then ZO left. I don't know if the HEAT turned back on him cuz of his injury or ZO turned back wanting to play alongside Kidd. I'm not sure. Well if they had 7 years of good relationship, i dont think it's too hard to make up, they should have more of good memories together. Anyways, makes sense, and i doubt that he will play for minimum too. But ima keep wishing tho. I don't think he's gonna or able to give us 20-10 at all cuz he won't be the 1st option and he's not quite the player he used to be now but IF he comes back in HEAT jersey, I'm sure it's gonna spark the team. To me, ZO and TImmy era was the best day of the HEAT history. Like they used to say "Miami's heart and soul, Alonzo Mourning"
