The Kings(11-5)take on the Boston Celtics(7-8)sunday evening at the Arco Arena. The Kings have been playing really good as of late and our Defense has improved over the past few games very well..Now i don't know what Boston has been up to since i don't follow the Celtics,i know that the have a great coach in Doc Rivers but since our team leader is a Celtics fan,44Thrilla please tell us how the Celtics are doing and how they could go against the Kings.that'd be of some great help to us giving us a Celtics fan perspective here. I'll go ahead and predict that the Kings will win the game esp if our Defense really looks strong. Kings 96 Celtics 89 By the Way 44Thrilla:Since you are a Celtic fan...doesn't this game serve as a conflict of intrest here?..LOL I Will go ahead
Yup, you're right MR_SAC_KING, There are 2 games a year that I don't want the Kings to win, and this is one of them. I think you're prediction is pretty much on par, but I think there will be more scoring in this game. Basically, The Kings are what the Celtics want to be. They want to run, they want to move the ball, they want to play aggressive defense, and they want to spread out the scoring burden so that it's not just one guy doing the bulk of the work. Danny Ainge has even specifically mentioned the Kings when asked what kind of team he would like to eventually build. But right now, the Celtics are a very young team. Sure you've got Payton, Pierce, LaFrentz, and Blount who are all veterans, but after that it's mostly a young team. So, like most young teams they are very inconsistent and even they don't know what to expect each game. The bench is keyed around Ricky Davis, Marcus Banks, Tony Allen, and Al Jefferson. These are all young guys who either seem to be very good or very bad. They make alot of mistakes, but all 4 have great potential. If the Celtics bench plays as good as it can, or even better, as it has in certain games this year, then they have as good of a shot as anybody at upsetting Sacramento at ARCO. Doc Rivers is trying to get this team to be aggresive on offense and defense for the full 48 minutes. When they do that, they're hard to beat. When they don't, they barely have a chance, especially against the Kings. I think we're in for a very entertaining game. Both teams play an uptempo style of basketball and there should be alot of offense on display. It will be interesting to see who Doc Rivers puts on Peja. I know Pierce will want the assignment, but Doc might be reluctant to give it to him. I think Peja's performance is the most important factor in this game, simply because he is the Celtics biggest matchup problem. Kings 111 Celtics 108

Kings 111 Celtics 108</div> Ok...Thanks for the Info Thrilla So the Celtics are trying to be modeled like the Kings  Sweet..Anyways so there and up and coming young team.and it does sound like from what you have told the Celtics could very well be competition for the Kings.good.definetly sounds like this could be a long fought out battle between the 2 clubs. I Hope it is a high scoring game like you have predicted here.Peja will be the focusing point by the Celtics like you said, and hopefully Peja will have a terrific outing against Boston.also C-Webb,Miller,Bibby and Jackson should be on top of their game as well and if all of the players i mentioned have a good game...the game should be ours If the Kings win, things will be good...if not our Kings leader will be sad ...Who woulda figured on our Team leader not being happy for a Kings win LMAO
Eh, I look at it like this. No matter what happens one of my favorite teams is getting a win, and I'll be happy.
As said above, I think that this should be a solid game. I like the Kings in this one. They have been playing extremely well as of late and I think that there would be just too much to overcome for Boston to pull off the upset at Arco. I think that it will be close for a while but the Kings should pull away late. Kings by 9.
Thrilla, I agree with ALMOST everything you say. The only difference is that I think the C's should slow it down versus the Kings. I know we're trying to run, but the Kings do run. If we try to get in an up-and-down game with them, we're playing into the Kings' strength. We could do it in spurts, but we couldn't hang with them for 40+ minutes. I'm expecting more like a 104-98 Kings win.
I would disagree about the kings being a fastbreak team. They used to be the premiere fastbreaking team but now theyre more of a halfcourt offensive team with the ability to get out on the break. On the game, another convincing win in a game they should have won.Ostertag had 7 boards in 11 minutes
What a great win for the Kings last night.Simply great plays by both teams, and high scoring made this game thrilling from beginning to the end. Peja was the man as played one of his best games with 27 points, and the Celtics played good against the Kings.i see a lot of good within the Celtics as a team,so there a decent team who will suceed in the future with Doc as the coach. The Defense for the Kings looked good, and i expect the Defense to get better and better now.good going. Overall it was a really great win for the Kings.
