I would just like to say that statistics do lie. A player might miss alot of shots in the beginning of the game, but make the realy important ones late in the game. Nobody would bash that player if the team won the game. You do however need good backup when missing alot of shots, and Kobe doesent always have that. Neither does he make all the big shots, but without other clutch players to pass to he has to take those shots. Who knows if Jumaine Jones is clutch? The Lakers would rather have Kobe shoot than Jones, because Jones hasnt proven he's clutch yet. Kobe hasnt had good "clutchness" this season but when he begins to realize this himself I think he will begin to pass more late in games. This came out a little negative towards the Lakers and Kobe, which wasnt intended since Im a Lakers/Kobe fan...
Kobe isn't going to have very much luck late in the 4th anyways, because he's having to play over 40+ minutes a game. This is why we need a PG.
That was a great game. I watched it at my cousins house and he was rooting for the Lakers and I was rooting for the Heat, so we had some difference of opinions. But the pre-game greeting Shaq and Kobe exchanged was no big deal. If Kobe wanted to talk/apoligize to SHaq he''l do it after the game so none of the reporters would make a big deal out of it. But this was a great game Shaq's oop was a great play. When Kobe shot the bank shot in the 3rd quarter I think, me and my cousin got into a fight if he planned that or if it was just luck. After Shaq fouled out I though it was over but like Wade said to Shaq "Have no Fear the Flash is here". And btw Shaq had 2 blocks on Kobe.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting spawn:</div><div class="quote_post"> Also, about that handshake. That had me laughing. That made Shaq look pretty bad, just ignoring the guy . Very "professional". All in all, an amazing game, well worth the hype and even though Shaq might act like he wasn't caught up into it, it effected both players and both wanted to win. Unfortunetly, the Lakers didn't and I hope Lamar and Kobe can continue to mesh well together in later games like they did today. As for the Heat, congratulations and I hope your win streak continues. </div> Lets see how "professional" you would be having to play against the player who stabbed you in the back? The player who sold you out to the cops and the media? The player who didn't realize what a good thing is when its in front of his face? The player who didn't realize how he won those 3 championships..... Yup...I'd react the same way shaq did.

Why would they? (yes espn has plauged my mind) Look what happens when kobe passes the ball to his teammates, they miss the shot or turn it over... On the other side Kobe does not pass enough when he's shooting like crap.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Look what happens when kobe passes the ball to his teammates, they miss the shot or turn it over... </div> LMAO! And that's his fault? Did you watch the game, some of Kobe's turnover were a result of his teammates (Mihm fumbling the ball, Mihm not moving up to catch a Kobe pass). I'm not syaing Kobe doesn't make any turnover because he makes plenty of forced and unforced turnovers but to blame HIM for the failure of his teammates shoooting is just flat our ridiculous. So, you blame Tracy that his teammates didn't shoot well? What can you do when you drive, kick it out to an open player and they still miss anyways. This happened with Kobe on the crucial play when Shaq was fouled out. Kobe drove the lane (like he should have more often) but decided to pass to Jumaine Jones (or else he might be "hogging the ball like always again) and what did a wide open Jumaine do? Miss for a long rebound which resulted in a fast break oppurtunity for Miami. And that's Kobe fault because....? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Kobe does not trust his teammates and his teammates do not trust or like him. Why would they? The thing that's wrong with Kobe is that he is sometimes extremely predictable. If he hits two in a row from the right side, he shouldn't be falling in love with that because the defense now knows that that's his hot spot and will contest the shots. So, what did Kobe do on the next posession? Take the exact same three from the exact same place with an outstretched Eddie Jones anticipating it. He still needs to learn. One thing that I realized about this game was that Rudy T does not even coach. What kind of coaching is that? none of the players move, they always Iso on Kobe while he drives or shoots and the other 4 players watch him either dribble around or shoot it. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Lets see how "professional" you would be having to play against the player who stabbed you in the back? Ignoring your competitior is not what I would necessairly professional, no matter how much you hate the guy. Atleast acknowledge him. You have to think of it from both perspectives. You say Shaq didn't act professional of his blind hate towards Kobe. You think Kobe loves Shaq? No, he hates Shaq as well but he (no matter if he did it for a cleaner image or actually meant it), did what he was supposed to wheras Shaq didn't.
Damn, i didnt see the game, I was at vacation at Philly, anythang happen? Did Shaq and Kobe shake hands before or after the game?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Hot Sauce:</div><div class="quote_post">Damn, i didnt see the game, I was at vacation at Philly, anythang happen? Did Shaq and Kobe shake hands before or after the game?</div> The two team leaders for each team were supposed to greet each other before the game, but only Eddie Jones walked over to Kobe and Odom...the ref went over to get Shaq, and it looked as if Shaq told him no. Then, right before tipoff, Kobe approached Shaq to shake his hand, and Shaq didn't even look into his eyes...he just gave him an elbow and turned around, with an "I-don't-care" pat on the shoulderblade. After the game, Shaq said that he knew Kobe's shot wasn't going in. He said that he's happy to play on the good team, a real team...and that "Flash" and Eddie told him that they were going to win it for him or something. Kobe stated that Shaq and the Heat played a great game, and that Shaq came out and played good basketball and everyone gave it their all. He said it was unfortunate that he missed the shot, but you learn from your mistakes. That's how it went, pretty much.
That was a great game! I'm so pissed off at Shaq though, his attitude is messed up. That's why he was fouled out of the game! Anyways, Kobe Bryant, Odom, and Dwayne Wade (especially Dwayne Wade) played really superb. Odom was good all-around. Good 3-Pointers, middle-range, i'm really impressed.
I totally understand why Shaq wouldn't want anything to do with Kobe, even a handshake. The man ratted him out to the cops, which imo is inexcusable.

With the world watching, and with how many times he said he was a class act...he had the worst display of class I've ever seen...and that's terrible, especially on Christmas.

We all know that "greeting" was just a pile of bull.
Come on...if Kobe had no respect for Shaq, he wouldn't have acted the way he did during the Christmas game. Here are the facts: Shaq didn't walk over and approach the team captains, even after being asked by the ref. Maybe because Kobe was there? Kobe gave Shaq an applause when he was being introduced, but Shaq didn't do anything when Kobe's name was called out. Shaq looked over Kobe's head, then turned his back, before the tipoff...when Kobe approached him like a man to greet him. Shaq continually made "rat" faces at Kobe the entire game. If you don't believe me, review the tapes. Watch how he keeps showing his teeth like a rat...he has NEVER done that in LA...ever...as many Laker games I've watched, I've never seen him do that, especially how he did it more than five or six times in the game. I've got the tape, I was watching it again yesterday...it wasn't on accident. Shaq bashed Kobe at the end of the game...talking about his attempts to score 50 or 60 points, that he knew his shot wasn't falling, and that he was the "real man" in Los Angeles. Kobe praised the Heat and Shaq for showing up and playing a great basketball game, and said he was less fortunate by missing the final shot, but it's a learning experience. So I'm wondering...what else are you wanting Kobe to do? He's making an attempt to just patch everything up and get everyone back on the right track, including himself...and to stop all the media attention that both Kobe and Shaq are getting. Isn't that what you guys wanted him to do?

It means being nice to someone when you're with them and then when they leave or something you curse about them or something. I'm positive that Kobe was just doing a load of bull. -No it was because Lamar Odom was there -So? I never root for the other team when I play basketball and I don't expect any one else to either.... -Kobes too short, Shaq couldn't see him.... -I have not seen a rat face that entire game and I didn't tape the game so I guess I can't say its true. -How is bashing some one saying You Knew that their shot was gonig in? Would you be happy with Shaq if hes like O YEA ALL OF KOBES SHOTS GO IN! -See the thing is Kobe CANNOT risk losing even more popularity so he should act like that since he raped that girl and got off because he's rich. Sort of like OJ Simpson, he was the guiltiest person ever and he got out of killing his wife. Shaq has done nothing wrong in the worlds eyes so he has nothing to prove. If you may have noticed most of this post was sarcasm
