makes sense i guess, i'd think that rush would be worth more than that? but i suppose his position has a lot of better talent in the league anyway
I knew he was leaving but didnt know to the Bobcats. I think he will fit right in there. I hope he can develop to a good player. Its hard cause of the position that he plays cause there are alot of excellent players as SG so. This is good for the Lakers. I hope they can get a good big man for this. They need some more rebounding
i was surprised to hear this!!!! good luck to rush he is gonna be a star as long as he starts over bogans. kinda hard to seee what the bakcourt is gonna be 4 em.
It is official. Karem has been traded for two second rounders, which will likely be high picks, considering their losing state. It will be next years second round pick, and 2008's second round pick. So no quick relief. They should have tried to get next years pick, and Jahidi White to help on the boards.
Seems like a good trade. Rush deserves more playing time, which he'll get at charlotte hopefully. I don't think it's a really important trade for the Lakers to have made right now, though. They really need to get another big guy sooner than later. If they can work out a big trade (I'm sure they could find a way to do so), it's likely they'll be getting a lot more W's.
I love this trade. The Lakers didn't get rid of Rush only because of the picks, like most believe. It was more along the lines of freeing up room in the lineup for Tony Bobbitt, who they signed after the trade. Bobbitt is a great defender...and I think that's one of our problems in our backcourt. Kobe is often worried about Atkins' defense (and Tierre's) that he's trying to do too much...but now, Bobbitt provides relief. Also, I see another trade happening, or Tierre getting cut...because Malone is 100% right now and may come back to LA in January (but I hope for the Christmas game).
I liked the trade. They got rid of Kareem Rush, who really wasn't doing anything this year but taking up a roster space. He wasn't getting much playing time and really wasn't working his way into the Lakers rotation for one reason or another. By trading him, we get a couple of what should be decent picks and we are able to sign Tony Bobbit. Bobbit is known for his defense, but beyond that, he was one of the best shooters and sixth men in all of college basketball while at Cinci. I think he's gonna bring some good things to the Lakers, and it will give them a great defender, so I think this trade to get rid of Rush was great for allowing them to sign him.
i think this will be good for the Bobcats. Rush hit some clutch 3s last year for the Lakers and will get better down the road.
Rush had quite a good game yesterday with the bobcats tho. Definately it's a gain for the new expension team. Rush 3s will be their weapon.
This will give Rush a chance to grow in the NBA. What we saw in the playoffs last year showed hes got some talent.
maybe the lakers are planning for something with that second round pick. its bound to be in the top 4 for that round.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting chineseafro:</div><div class="quote_post">maybe the lakers are planning for something with that second round pick. its bound to be in the top 4 for that round.</div> Most likely than not, it is the Hawks pick so it might be like number one of round 2 which could be good.
This is great for the Bobcats and dumb on the Lakers.. Kareem was playing behind Kobe so we never really got a chance to see what he can do, just brief flashes of it.. He needed to leave LA. And the Lakers get two second draft picks....WOW
