and he sill doesn't get a starting spot. that just infuriates me. he had 15 points last night in less than 20 minutes, I think, but yet he still doesn't get the playing time JR and Murph do. at best he gets 15 mins. what's up with that?

Probably front office pressure, Pietrus' chances of getting hurt again, the attempt to get Dunleavy's trade value up, the fact Pietrus doesn't really stick to offensive sets. Look at how different Richardson plays now, he is making an attempt to work in the half court track.

BTW If Mullin is fooled by the last couple of games that Dunleavy will turn his career around he's seriously mistaken. And if trades Pietrus for Jonathan Bender and ship out Claxton we'll have the WORST defensive team ever.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting custodianrules2:</div><div class="quote_post">That would just be retarded as well. Why trade your best rookie to remove a deal that could have been avoided in the first place. I say play Dunleavy and get him hot and them move him out with the Fisher contract. We make a trade with the rockets and give them a pg (needed), Dunleavy (small forward needed to replace Jackson's shoot first mentality), and Foyle. We get Mutombo or Juwon Howard, Charlie Ward or Tryonn Lue whoever makes the contract work.

I want to get Howard though since he has the back to the basket game. He's the best we could probably do (another tweener), then we get a 7'3 center (who is aging and probably washed up), and hopefully Lue who is a speedy pg great in the open court.

I think the contracts we get are actually a bit shorter so we put up with these guys for maybe a couple years, enough to resign Pietrus.</div>
Custodian, put yourself in Mullin's shoes for a second. Do you think he'd ever trade the guy who was supposed to be his golden boy (Dunleavy) just so he could get rid of the first two contracts he signed?!?

You'll be hard pressed to find someone outside the Warriors' front office who doesn't think the Fisher and Foyle signings were a big mistake, but it's the opinions of the guys in the front office that count.

There's no use fighting it, Fisher and Foyle are going to be with the Warriors for a long time unless they are traded for some equally bad contracts.

Mullin has just got to drop the ego and make the right moves even if he is admitting his mistakes by doing so. He is damned if he does damned if he doesn't right now. I won't go into politics about who Mullin most resembles, but let's say If Pietrus gets traded away this franchise has no hope and that will be the invetible the straw that broke the camel's back in the eyes of many fans including myself. I will just shut out anything warriors out for a while until Mullin gets fired/steps down or Cohan sells... I will just go to the nba equilvalent of Canada and chill there for a while. Like I'm a hardcore warrior up to a certain point until it becomes a basketball fan's version of hell for me.

If Pietrus gets traded for someone less than an ALL 1st team NBA player, I will forever forsake the Warriors and pick up whatever local team there is where I live.

Pietrus leaving would leave a huge gap in the team for ages to come. Which is why it better not happen!

Man, now I'm nervous because its stuff like Walker said why this franchise fails so much. They just can't figure it out... I've got no faith in what these guys do anymore because of this offseason and continued Dunleavy love.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting boogielew:</div><div class="quote_post">I posed the question to Marcus regarding the Pietrus trade rumour, i am Scottsonit by the way, and here is his response :

http://www.contracostatimes.com/mld/cctime...tm?forumId=1291</div> Hey Marcus, I love this column. Someone recently mentioned to me that the New York Post is reporting that Mullin is trying to move M. Pietrus for expiring contracts. Please tell me this has no validity. Pietrus is the lone shining light in this dim season thus far. In the past two games the guy has absolutely shined despite being held back on his minutes for "the towel" oops i mean Cheaney. Whenever Cheaney gets in the game it is like throwing in the towel, hence the nickname. Admittedly CC has played a bit better. I could understand Dunleavy in that move, but Pietrus? I have been a Warriors fan since the mid 70's but this very well might be the last straw if Mullin is serious about this move. Thank you.

Haha Cheaney is "the Towel?" That is hilarious. You mind if I use that? That's good stuff, boogie! [IMG] I tried to give Dunleavy Jr. a nickname but "rim-job" was too offensive I think. Well c'mon he hits a lot of rim on the basketball hoop whenever he misses a shot! Oh well at least he's driving more since he knows anything he puts up from 20 feet will be enough to start a masonry workshop.
