I think it is unfair to toss the blame of the wiz's lack of sucess when ordan was here souly on Jordan. They have a much better team now then when Jordan played they have Arenas for one, a better coach, more developed players, and jsut a better overall talent level when Jordan was in Washington Stack was hurt a lot of the time during his second season with the wiz, and Jordan was hurt a lot his first season with the team when Rip was still with the team. So they never really had a steady one two punch like they do now.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Sabretooth:</div><div class="quote_post">Unlike Jamison, Jordan is a legend.</div> No one is disputing that, Jamison is doing what Jordan couldnt. There are many reasons for that though, Jordan didnt have Arenas, he had a very young Kwame Brown, and he and Stackhouse didnt get a long. Jordan was also too old, Jamison is in his prime, but I think the one thing Jamison is doing Jordan didn't, he is listening to the team...so next time before you post, think about what you say because no one is contesting Jordan's legacy here
Put the 1992 Michael Jordan on this Wizards team, take Jamison off, and the Wizards would have 3 rings. Actually, that may work on just about any team, except the Hawks.

All I know, is that the Trio of Jamison, Arenas, and Hughes are playin great right now...Hughes is a masta stealer!

There's more than one difference in the team that makes them better now. There is a better cast and I don't think that people (players and fans) stop whenever Jamison gets the ball to see magic. How much pressure is there on Jamison to take team and win. If they don't win, does the national media say "Jamison has failed and should've stayed on the bench"? Also, Jordan has 6 rings, so I gather that he knows what needs to be done. So before adding your sarcasm and why don't you think about your threads first.
The only good thing Jordan did here besides filling seats was to get rid of Juwan Howards massive contract (thank you again Mark Cuban). He picked his cast members, he was the one who wanted Stack in the first place, made that horrible trade for Hamilton. Not saying Jamison is anywhere near Jordan. Jordan just made some bad decisions when he was here.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Dr. H.H. Holmes:</div><div class="quote_post">Jordan just made some bad decisions when he was here.</div> I guess he was going off of potential. One of the hardest things about actually being able to pick the players is judging potential and talent. Think of the Ben Wallace's, Carmelo Anthony's, Shawn Bradley's, and etc. Curious, I know it's a vintage question, but how did the fans take to the name change for the franchise? I've always wondered that.
Yeah, Antawn "My Career Average For Assists is 1.6" Jamison makes alot of teams better I think it's simply the young talent that Washington has had in the past few seasons finally developing, not to mention players are stepping up and Gilbert Arenas and the majority of the team are finally healthy. There's alot of different reasons for The Wizards success, Antawn Jamison certainly isn't the only one. Giving Jamison full credit isn't fair, nor was the stab at Jordan.

But that does not mean he was blameless in Washington. I honestly believe he had the right goal in mind, and had he stuck around for another 5 years or so, he could have built a good team. But Washington wasn't as easy as he thought. Every wonder why he chose Washington? Because, in my opinion, he thought not only could he "resurrect a franchise", so to speak, if he succeeded, not only for the challenge, but also because he could have a lot more leeway. You screw up in New York, you're gone in a year. In Washington, you've got room to screw up, especially if you're MJ, at least that was the thinking. But he didn't get that time. The thing that speaks the most to me about MJ's tenure in WAS was the story about the #1 pick in the draft, and the trade possibilities (or lack thereof). The Bulls were looking to deal Brand for a top pick, to try and grab Tyson Chandler (obviously he eventually went to the Clips). The story is that they offered Brand for #1 to Jordan. Jordan, liked it, but wanted a little more - so he wanted to throw in (the then not so great) Jamal Crawford, and a player or two on the WAS side. Bulls said no, he said, hoping they'd cave: "Then no deal without Crawford." Now here, Jordan clearly saw the potential of Crawford before he was big. But he banked on nobody saying "no" to MJ, and eventually didn't take what would have been a HUGE deal for the Wizards. But once again, when he came back, he struggled with the fact that he didn't have a team around him that played to his strengths. He had the itch to play, packed the stadium for two years, but it didn't do anything. He's the greatest ever, and was the greatest player over 40 years old ever, but he was not blameless for the problems in Washington.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah, Antawn "My Career Average For Assists is 1.6" Jamison makes alot of teams better </div> I guess you are a sucker for stats. If you watch the Wizards play, you'll see AJ sets at least 15 picks, give or take a few, per game. A good pick is just as good as an assist. Also his assists have gone up this year to 2.4. He doesn't get a whole lot of passing options, considering most of the times he gets the ball either he is wide open, or the PG wants the ball back, he is a career 46 percent shooter. Also this year they want him going down low and he is taking a lot more foul shots, and his percentage has increased from .74 last year to .83 this year. I believe he is making the players and the team around him better. And some of you guys were skeptical about his arrival. You guys know who you are. Are you still skeptical?
He's also getting the ball the most he's ever gotten it in his career (1.00 touches per minute), passing the most (36% of his touches, as opposed to a previous career high of 32%), and turning it over the least (4%, trending down from 8% in his rookie year to 6% in 02-03). Best defensive rebounding also, though not doing as well in the offensive rebounding department. Still - statistically, he's golden. Not to mention his +17.9 net points per 100 possessions (good for 13th in the league, just ahead of Duncan, just behind Marbury, Kobe, Allen, etc.).
