I remember when Vince asked to be traded, he said he didn't want a rebuilding process. It looked good for the first four games, but now look, its like we have to rebuild again. Even Rafer is acting up. Vince wanted to be traded all along, he doesn't want to stay. When people say they should trade him cuz he's useless and they don't want him on our Raptors team, what do they think he's wanted all along? He's wanted to leave too, he's not exactly begging to stay.. they are taking way too long to trade him. And yea he is performing now in the season but the whole team heirarchy is messed up. Everyone has lost their clutch.
you cant hurry up and rush a trade though. thats the kind of thing that will hurt the franchise in the long run. if we just be patient and wait for the right offer, it will come along and we can a good return for him.

Make it or break it, hurry up and do something Babcock. The problem is this: Babcock believes VC is a franchise player and that he deserves to be traded for other equally 'elite' guys. Other GM's don't believe that. 2nd problem is that any trade with Vince will have to include Jalen as well because Babcock is desperately pushing to get rid of his contract but once again, that's not working either. I still say we should have pulled the trigger on that Portland deal but I guess Babcock's vision is different. I would love the Grizzlies trade as well. Seeing Jason Williams and a (perhaps) rejuvinated Vince Carter will be great and the Raptors (according to the the rumours) would get Swift and Wells. That's not too bad but I'm not sure if we lose Rose or not.

this all wouldnt have happend if we got the 3rd pick.... no rose, carter could be traded for less, and would we still have our bigs.. now its all messed up, but that was the past, and now we arescrewed...

Lebron was first, Kobe second, and Vince was tied for third with K-Mart. This alone tells you that Vince should be drawing a lot of interest for other teams. I think Babcock is doing the right thing at the moment which is to wait for the best offer to come around. As long as the rumours keep coming out, more teams should be contacting the Raps to make a bid for Carter. So rushing things may make us lose out on a better deal than what's currently on the table.
Honestly...even with Vince underacheiving so much this season...HE WAS RIGHT. I completely didn't know what was going through his head when he talked about the team "rebuilding" but it's become very evident in this team that they're in no shape whatsoever to go anywhere in the playoffs (let alone be a strong playoff contender). Vince has to leave T.O. for both his own good and for the good of the team. Although we would probably lose a lot of $$$ in ticket sales, we really need the cap space. Also, Vince probably doesn't like playing for T.O. AT ALL now. What player would like to play for a team where the city's own fans boo them?

We're averaging about 16000 seats per game and it's been steadily declining even with Vince. We only had one sell-out this season, and that was the opener versus T-Mac and the Rockets so that alone tells the story. As soon as the team starts winning, and winning consistently, fans will come back.
