According to ESPN.com The Lakers are close to making a trade that would send Kareem Rush to the Charlotte Bobcats for a 2nd round pick.

Now since the Bobcats rostor is full. They decided to waive House to make room for Rush.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"According to sources, Bickerstaff believed that Rush would take most of House's playing time and wanted to give House the chance to earn playing time somewhere else.

House should have a number of options. The Nuggets, Heat, Celtics and ROCKETS are among the teams that have expressed interest in House." ESPN.COM </div> http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1939403

So if the Rockets end up signing House, what do you think he can bring to this team?

I think House played the combo guard most of the time. He came off the bench, would be a good back-up for McGrady. Can't believe we missed out on Rush. 2 freaking SECOND rounders. I liked him a lot. Eddie House, can hit the open jumper, so we should give him a one year deal and see how it goes. If we sign him, Ward just got the boot in the butt. But we need some change to spark this team. WE NEED TO RUN MORE JEFF VAN GUNDY! But yeah, he would be a nice signing, just hope we don't give him a 5 year deal or anything. I also, think (OT) that Scott Padegett should start. He's a great bench player, but obviously, JVG is trying some new things, give the guy a start. He rebounds, scores, and provides energy. He's our fastest PF, and can hit the 3 ball. Just my 2 cents.

House doesnt seem like a Van Gundy type of player...hes a shoot-first player who can be instant offense but is too undersized on defense...hes too small to be a 2 but has a shooter's mentality...he would be an offensive boost off the bench but his defense leaves a lot to be desired...

Yes, I agree, I dont think that House will fit in. Unless, Dawson plans on firing JVG soon, he shouldn'y bother getting house. House is a very good shooter though, and if Yao could actually perfect his inside-out game, House would be very reliable to kick it out to.

House won't fit with us. He is only 6-1 and lacks passing skills to be an efficient point guard. Basically, he won't be good defensively with his height, or lack thereof. Van Gundy won't like him and we already have a similar ball-pusher in Barrett. Having House would not help us anymore than it would help him, considering he won't get any minutes under Van Gundy.

    Scouting report on House.

House is a streak shooter, but he has problems with defense, shot selection, and isn't a willing passer. ...

question?????...why not get the guy, look at our current situation we act like we have great shooters, passers, and defenders at the point......this guy might be a good spark off the bench, we need some offense

Don't give McGrady another chance to complain. House is a good player, but he's not fit for Houston. Go after someone like Brevin Knight. [IMG] Someone like him...because I really doubt the Cats will trade him...but he's a pass-first PG. If you can find one that has good defense, Houston will start winning more games, I guarantee it.
