Shaq came into tonights game with 9,992 career boards and got to the 10,000 mark and then some. In doing so he becomes the 31st player in history to reach the 10k rebound milestone.
No matter what anyone, particularly Laker fans, say about him..he is one of the games greatest and most durable, especially for someone his size...congratulations Shaq.
Congratulations to Shaq. He is undoubtedly one of the greatest ever. But how ridiculous are Wilt Chamberlain's numbers!!!! Career Rebounds: 23,924 Shaq would have to play for 15 more years to reach that

Once again Shaq has shown that he DOES have individual acheivements that need not be attributed to anyone other than himself.
He's too big. Not a single person can really gain position when he's under the hoop, so I don't even know why they try. He's got 10,000...and alot of them probably came really easy for him. I'd love to see Wilt and Shaq battling for boards. That would be awesome.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Kobe 8 Ball:</div><div class="quote_post">Well Wilt played in a time where he had absolutely NO COMPETITION AT ALL, the game was different back then.</div> Also when Wilt played their were about 1.5 times more rebounds to grab per game because of the pace, adjusting to pace, KG is a better rebounder right now than Wilt was at his time, and also the fact that he was much taller than everyone else.
Reaching 10,000 rebounds is a very good achievement indeed. Ya with the Wilt thing, you can't say Wilt is better than Shaq stat wise. The game was totall different then it was today. THere was the game pace. Also the lane. I'm pretty sure it was smaller back then than it was now. Just tha lane puts Shaq back about 3 Rebounds per game and 5 points at least. COngrats Shaq on becoming the 31st NBA player to reach the 10k mile stone mark in about 58 years of the NBA.
Like I said when he passed Clyde Drexler on the all time scoring list he is just expanding and adding to his legacy. He does not need to prove anything more to anyone, but he just keeps proving new things with every game.

He was so much bigger than everyone else, he would rebound his own misses until he scored. IMO, Shaq is better than Wilt was.
