Hornets assistant coach Jim Cleamons, who writes a weekly column for the Salt Lake City Tribune, this week wrote about O'Neal.

An assistant with the Lakers when O'Neal played there, Cleamons wrote of enduring the officiating double standard with O'Neal, something Van Gundy has lamented.

"Because Shaq is so physically dominating, the officiating is simply angled against him," Cleamons wrote. "Most people don't realize that an NBA ref's job isn't to call a game `by the book.' It's to produce a fair and equally contested game. So Shaq gets beat up pretty good, night in and night out."</div>

    Interesting....

It's very true, in SVGs words, he said "there's 2 rule books in the NBA". By that he means the official rules and the one that says the game needs to be fair for both teams.

The same thing happens to Yao Ming. He's officiated differently because he could easily dominate the game (when he is dominating)

Lakers fans can come and tell you all about it because they've watched him for years.
