I made a new thread so people know that it will take some time to load, I don't want to make any of the other ones slow. <u>From RealGM:</u> Seattle Game - Lewis slaps Carters arm on final drive: http://s05.imagehost.org/0344/seattle.gif Washington Game - Haywood sets a pick, sumo style, on Carter to give Larry Hughes a wide open 3, which the refs counted as a two but still should have been a foul on Haywood. http://s04.imagehost.org/1000/washington.gif Boston Game - LaFrentz fouls Carter on forearm
damn man. yeh i was wandering how vince missed that easy layup last nite. not that you pointed out that jefferson slapped the glass. it gives me something else to think about than pure luck for that missed shot by carter. i do believe if you hit the backboard hard enough it could shake the goal. but then again i've never played in the nba so i dont know how stable those goals are. hey this could possibly just be fate. which will grant carter his wish of getting traded if his teammates and coaches have already noticed these problems. because if they havent noticed theses missed calls they could just be blaming carter for not trying. thus in return leading to frustration by both carter and teamates which will lead to this trade. But hey og15 this stuff happens all the time in the game of basketball holds and all so you have to live through them and fight through them nonetheless. though i do believe slapping the backboard after a shot should be looked into to determine the possiblities of it altering a shot. i think any touching of the backboard or goal should be prohibited while an offensive player is in the act of shooting and after`.
Actually it is prohibited, the refs probably didn't see it because you can miss things sometimes when it's live, or they felt he didn't hit it hard enough.
wow i guess when the B-Ball spirits are not working for you, it gets tough... i just wish that the raps could have a couple of wins where by the begining of the fourth quarter it's pretty much won... close games down the stretch makes for good ball, but i just want some blow out wins for the raps... current record- 7 wins : 13 losses if we got the calls and the buckets from the above games 12 wins : 8 losses obviously that's over with, but hopefully we could get things to turn around very soon...a couple wins and we'll be right back in the thick of things...
Yeah, The Raps have had their share of bad luck, but so has every other team. You could create a thread like this for every team - some would be longer, some would be shorter. It's just part of the game. The only 2 gifs that I can see are the Lafrentz block on Carter, and the Lebron dunk. To say these would have changed the result of the game is absurd. Hey, maybe LaFrentz didn't get all ball in that play, but do you see Marshall pushing him away from Carter? That could have been called too. The Z hold could have actually been a good thing for the Raps, IMO. I mean, look at how high Lebron is. Would Bosh have blocked that dunk? I don't think so, he probably would have gotten posterized, called for a foul, and Lebron would have a 3 point play. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that you can't look into the past and try to make excuses for losses. It's all hypothetical, you can't start saying things like this...<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">current record- 7 wins : 13 losses if we got the calls and the buckets from the above games 12 wins : 8 losses </div>...because you just don't know.
Saw those plays so many times, the refs just ain't going to call them, specially that Illgauskas pull on Chris, the ref was right there, and he seems to be staring at them (Z and CB), but no call. It ain't the first time, and it won't be the last. We just gotta live with it!

The other ones was a last second play against the Nets and Jefferson slapped the backboard while the ball was rolling around it, the Wizards one was too far from the end of the game to be a cause of the loss, but it was just to emphasize the constant lack of calls, and the Rashard Lewis one was a blatant hack on a game winning layup attempt, he slapped down on Carter's hand with about 1 second or so left. I agree about the record thin though, I don't think we would've won that many just from that, but I do think we would've won maybe 2-3 more games, the Nets, and possibly Sonics and Celtics games. The Cleveland one was insignificant IMO, I think we would've lost anyways, Lebron would've just gotten to the line and made 2, but I mean dunks hype up the crowd and get the players fired and all, but still.. PS: Love the SIG
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Doesn't look like Marshall really pushes him anywhere, that would've been a pretty weird call lol, I first though he was trying to box out... </div>Well, usually boxing out is done after the shot is in the air, and not when the player is driving to the basket. Also, I don't think you can box out with your hands and forearms. To me, it looked like Marshall was trying to clear out LaFrentz so that Carter would have an uncontested layup/dunk. Questionable calls happen every game, alot of them in crunch time. It's something that we just have to deal with. Let's just hope that the Raptors, along with every other team, have better luck when it comes to crucial calls.

Shit happens all the time throughout the game, to every team in the league. The better teams don't make excuses, the better players fight through the holds and score anyways, and the tougher players won't stand for any BS and will make their point down the floor the next time, even if they have to commit a flagrant foul to get that point across. What doesn't kill you should make you stronger. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to apply to the current Raptors. Is Charles Oakley still available? Seriously.
