http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/writ...rter/index.html I saw this article and thought what they were saying was stupid. Dunking is part of the game wether people like it or not. What are you opinions on this subject?
You misunderstood the point of the article. It was just an imagination of the NBA that had no dunking.
it would be dumb all the guys who are superstars in the nba lik vc mj kobe all them wouldnt get half the credit they do
warning. Sarchasm Ahead! <div class="quote_poster">Quoting baller#4:</div><div class="quote_post">it would be dumb all the guys who are superstars in the nba lik vc mj kobe all them wouldnt get half the credit they do</div> yeah... and the guys that do all those things like making good passes, getting assists, having great court vision and knowing how to actually run an offense on the floor would start getting more credit.....forget that!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting baller#4:</div><div class="quote_post">it would be dumb all the guys who are superstars in the nba lik vc mj kobe all them wouldnt get half the credit they do</div> If you think that MJ, VC, and Kobe would've been worse players and that the fans wouldn't have liked them if they didn't dunk, then you know nothing about anyone of them.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KBC:</div><div class="quote_post">If you think that MJ, VC, and Kobe would've been worse players and that the fans wouldn't have liked them if they didn't dunk, then you know nothing about anyone of them.</div> You got the best sig ive seen on this board. and I agree with you this discussion is meaningless.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting baller#4:</div><div class="quote_post">it would be dumb all the guys who are superstars in the nba lik vc mj kobe all them wouldnt get half the credit they do</div> Yes, all MJ, Kobe and Vince do is dunk, their stat lines always read: 20+ points, 1 rebounds, 1 assists, 4+ turnovers, and their man is always +10 on them right?
If the NBA banned dunking they might as well stop selling jerseys and tickets to games as well because there would be hardly any fans.
Wow, that is a RETARDED article by whoever wrote it. Who is stupid enough to make up a article ridiculous like that.
I get the feeling that most of the people in this thread failed to read through the whole article. The author was just using a hypothetical situation to better exemplify a point he wants to make: that dunking is overrated and causes many people to have a lack of appreciation for other more important aspects of the game.
Perhaps someone can tell the guy who wrote the article is that most dunks are the result of someone doing something correct. If you are open enough or have the time to dunk, it's likely because you got a great pass from someone, made a steal, got an offensive rebound, beat your man off the dribble, etc. The dunk itself is really just the icing on the cake.
