The rumor mill is buzzing right now... Ricky Williams coming back? Could be... Maybe he just didn't like Wanny?

There are two articles on miami.com and an ESPN Insider article. Unfortunately, I don't have access to any of them. [IMG]

I read both articles and they say he may want to come back. They say hes off drugs(yeah right) and that he has considered dropping the money fight with the Dolphins, which may clear the way for him to return....it also says hes lost 30lbs....that would put the guy under 200lbs....no way hes effective under 200lbs, hes not a tall guy anyway....who wants a 5'10'' 198lb RB with a fumbling problem and a slew of off-the-field problems? I dont....

who wants a RB who is 5-10 and weighs under 200 pounds??? The Atlanta Falcons do! His name is Warrick Dunn. He is an awesome runningback. But hey its March 19th, by September 5th im sure he can add at least 15 pounds of muscle.

    you brought this on yourself....

Good job, way to take half the statement and respond to it....Now read the whole statement:

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (thebeef)</div><div class='quotemain'>

does Warrick Dunn fumble? NO....does he have off-the-field problems? NO.....would anyone want him if he couldnt hold on to the football or if he had a drug problem? FUCK NO, why? because hes a nice little back, hes not a pro bowler, hes not a game break, hes not a great player, hes a good player, and there are 50 other backs that can do what he does....so if he wasnt dependable, he wouldnt have a job....would anyone want Warrick Dunn if he had Ricky's problems? Hell NO!!!!

Furthermore, this isnt baseball where you can add 15lbs of solid muscle in a month by working out hard and taking horse hormones, the NFL tests for that shit and hes already in the program, he wont be able to get the muscle back before traing camp, that kind of bulk takes year to develop....

I do not want Ricky back except to trade. The bad thing about the Raiders signing Lamont Jordan is that the most obvious trade partner might not be interested. Is Al Davis nutty enough to still give up a 4th in 06 & 5th in 07?

As important as character is to Saban, He would look somewhat hypocritical bringing Ricky back IMO.

RW has realized that "grass" is bad for his astro-body. At least, that is what I remember from reading an article on this topic.

You're wrong. Obviously Dunn fumbles every RB does at some time but Dunn isnt anything like Williams. Dunn doesnt fumble that much at all. Go take a look at both their stats in the fumble department and you'll be able to clearly see that. Dunn's been around longer but has like 12 less fumbles or something. How can you even compare the two!?

I dont think Dunn is an amazing RB or anything but I know he doesnt have a fumble problem just like Beef said.

He doesnt have a drug problem either....and he doesnt have a social anxiety disorder....and he doesnt have a rep as being a selfish player....basically, he has the skills to succeed at 180lbs and has no baggage at all, if anything, hes one of the better citizens in the NFL....thats suprising coming from Free Shoe U....Ricky has all that baggage and more....if hes 228lbs and strong as an ox, then you can put that baggage to the side long enough to give him a chance, if hes 198lbs you dont give him a second look with all that hanging over him....
