So far, is Mitchell a good fit as the head Coach for this team?

So far, Mitchell has done almost all he can do for this team. There is no doubt in my mind that he's a good fit for this club.. He knows the game, played 13 yrs and he's a natural leader. Quite obvious from the way he talks to the media. He knows wut to say. And i know he's motivating these guys but something is not right. VC and Jalen need to be traded without a doubt, cuz the team aint winning with them anyway. This team lacks chemistry, especially among the starting 5. Cb4 rarely gets the ball. Jalen is too selfish., he's a bad apple for this team. We need guys that want to play as a team. Alston is good example of that, he just needs few more guys around him that want to play as a team and unselfishly.
Jerome moiso shld be traded immediately. They shld have waived him in the pre-season or something... gifted but useless.. He's not hungry.. there's millions of guys out there that will die to be in his position, playing in the NBA. anyway, let me know wut y'all think
CB4 da Franchise in da making.... sky is da limit.

I highly agree with you on this one. For one he is keeping these guys together and doesn't have them thinking about the trade talks and keeps them focused on what is happening now.

I think Sam Mitchell is doing a great job, he's not afraid to bench his players when they should be benched. He knows how to talk to the media, and being a retired NBA player he knows what has to be done on the court. I think he'll bring the Raptors closer to a title than they've ever been.

I'm not sure if trading Vince will help the Raptors, but they do need to get rid of Jalen Rose. He's a 14+ million player, and he doesn't contribute squat.

Sam is doing a great job and I believe he's by far the best head coach in the Raptors franchise history. Only former head coach I could think of that had been as closely a good coach as Sam would be Butch Carter before all that BS happened with him, Thomas and Grunwald.

The thing about trading Rose is that you can't trade him alone. No team would be willing to take on his $14 million/year contract for 3 more years and therefore the Raptors need to package him with Carter. Carter has been actually playing good of late but if Rose has to go, so does Carter. Grunwald messed this team up when he acquired Rose.

It's too bad that Carter has to go with Rose if they do decide to trade, that'd be a sad day for Raptors fans when Vince goes. He's been the heart of T-dot since he came there, and when he goes it won't be the same without him.

I know Vince can put up 25-5-5, the question is that if he wants to do it. Oh well, as a fan I have no control of what goes on with the owners.

I think he's great fit for the team, but he needs to clear out the mess that was left behind. He takes a proper stance depending on the issue (Harsh with Alston's technical; Supportive with Bosh's struggles) and how hard the player works. I don't think anyone can disagree with his basic philosophy. I like coaches who are willing to think differently, more than those who won't budge no matter what.

The thing about Mitchell that impresses me is that he is willing to fix things when he makes mistakes. When he benched Alston for the game against Cleveland it seemed like the whole Raptorland would blow like a hydrogen bomb but Mitchell and Babcock worked with Alston to correct what has been done wrong. This is definitely a fresh breeze after 2 years of Lenny Wilkens and a season with Kevin O'Neill. I think we have found the right guy,,, now only if Babcock could find a good suitor for Rose and Carter we'll be set to make some noise in the playoffs.

He's done some good and some bad:

    1) He needs to sometimes take blame for losses, now some games shouldn't go down to the wire, but one thing we ALL KNOW from last season is that Kevin O'neil knew how to perfectly draw up game winning plays, Sam doesn't have that yet.

    2) His substitution patterns are very odd, he seems to pick the wrong times to remove and insert players, and sometimes his subbing has cost us games, taking a hot player out for too long, and sometimes leaving the bench in for too long.

    3) He's been pretty good, still learning the ropes of being a head coach, he speaks his mind, and doesn't hide things. Sometimes he needs to pick and choose his words about the team, and he's getting there.

    4) His offensive sets need to get more defined, right now it's too loose offensively when we get in the halfcourt, on the break or secondary break it's fine, but when we get in halfcourt, we need to have our bread and butter plays, and they need to stop involving Jalen Rose.

    5) VinKanaddy can you please change your sig lol, Bosh looks scary in that

I think tonight's game against the Pistons really exposed Mitchell's weakness in offensive sets. Lord only knows why he chose to have Palacio run the point instead of Alston in OT. And it seems as though all he tells them to do is run and let them do their thing on offense.

I also believe that he should take it easy with the whole, calling out his players via the media. As og15 already stated, instead of blaming his players all the time, he should consider to shoulder the blame once in a while.

Personally I don't think he's been doing as great as people say he's been doing but on the other hand, he's still a rookie coach and he admits he will make mistakes. So as long as he improves as a coach then I'm fine with him. But I don't we should be praising him just yet. Remember, a lot of people thought Kevin O'Neill was also a great coach at this time last season and we all know how that turned out.

The thing that is so great about Mitchell is that he is trying to change the culture of this team. I love Vince, but he just doesn't care about playing for the Raptors and it shows. His attitude is killing this team. Look at the defensive energy the team had last night at the end of the thrid quarter and the entire fourth. I agree that Palacio shouldn't have been handling the ball. In Mithell's defense, Milt has been good at getting to the basket off the dribble. I think that's what Sam was looking for. Unforturnately, Palacio really couldn't get it done. I'm sure you will not see him in that situation again!

Sam is still a rookie coach so mistakes are going to be made. Dunksworth got it right on the button that both of our offensive sets and execution at the end of games sucks.
