Reason I bring this up because according to ESPN Insider Chad Ford if the Suns would be willing to part with either Joe Johnson or Quentin Richardson a deal could very well go through. He said in the article (Insider Membership Required) <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If the Suns are willing to part with either Quentin Richardson or Joe Johnson, something might work out. The Nuggets could swap Nene, Skita and Lenard to the Suns for Q, Maciej Lampe and Cabarkapa. Or they could swap just Nene and Skita for Johnson, Lampe and Cabarkapa. </div>

If we do trade either Q-Rich or JJ, this would mean that we would stop running the small ball that we have been running which has been working. This would be our lineup:

    PG - Nash
SG - JJ/Q (which ever one stays)
    SF - Marion
    PF - Amare
    C - Nene

Maybe we can lure the Nuggets into taking one of our two picks for next year, I wonder if they would do Jacobsen plus the Bulls pick (which would likley be a lottery pick).

Your thoughts on possibly getting Nene..

I'd rather it be Q, I know you like Q a lot Courtking, but JJ brings much more defense, isn't as fixated with the outside shot, and overall has been more productive for the team this season.

The only problem would be contracts, and maybe the Suns not wanting to battle in trying to sign JJ in the off-season.

Yea, Exactly. I'd much rather have JJ than Q, fror the same reasons as og stated above.

By NBA standards, Quentin Richardson isn't that big, 6 years 42-48 million? JJ will get a lot from other teams, over 50 maybe even topping 65 or a little higher. Finicially, Q would be the better option to keep, but JJ is the better player.

Nene could do well as the center for the Suns if he's willing to except his role; grabbing boards and protecting amare inside. He'll be the 4th or 5th option on the court when he starts, so his game will have to change. He'll have to rely on put backs, quick baskets, and transistion buckets for his points, because the Suns won't be running plays for him like the Nugs did for him in his previous 2 seasons.

I am a Q fan, and well I would rather see JJ stay on this team though as well. I'll ammit he brings more defence than Q, with those long arms and is more of a consistant scorer. I have no problem with Q playing for Denver either [IMG]

But hey if we trade JJ, and he loves it here we can always sign him back in the off-season. On the other hand I don't think that the Suns would try to sign Johnson to a big contract at the end of this year even if he isn't traded.

I think if the Suns know now that they aren't going to make Johnson one of their top free agents this year then why not pull the trigger on this deal?

Only time will tell. I wouldnt be suprised if they traded JJ due to the contract. Thats why Q was signed i mean cmon it all makes sense. Sign Q for a reasonable price so you wont have to sign JJ when the seasons over and trade him for a center.

If we could trade for another center like Samuel Dalembart whose young and has lots of potential instead of Nene would you guys be up for that trade?

Dalembert's up and down. I mean, Jim O'Brien isn't the freindlies coach for young players by and strech of the imagination, but I personally think Nene is a safer bet.

I agree with the comments above on Q vs. JJ. And I think that Nene could be a great fit for the Suns. Nene plays good D, which is something you'll need more of come playoffs. Phoenix is off to a great start, but in a 7 game series against the other western power houses, I think you'll need tougher defense down low. Marion is a great defender, but I can' see him guarding KG or TD for 7 games. Using him to guard smaller guys is a much better way to utilize his talents.

I think the Suns are doing just fine the way they are.... in first right now in the West I believe. But they could use another decent player in the post. Bo Outlaw is kinda old.

Well i sure hope not because Nene brings so much to the Nuggets offense. Wether hes scoring or not just look at the Nuggets record with and then without him. Simmply because of that i dont see the nuggets trading him away.

Why mess with the team chemistry? They are playing great!

I realize the suns interrior D is lacking...

However, they could add nene and realy hurt because it slows down the game.

True, Nene can slow down the game, so maybe we would go after a Samuel Dalembert like MagicFan said, he can run for a big man and with him and Amare down low would be one of the most athledic big man combo ever. The problem is that the Sixers would want a young athledic big man back for Dalembert and which is something we don't have if we don't want to give up Amare.

Old saying, "Don't fix something that isn't broken," and the Suns are the best team in the West, don't move any starters around yet, wait until probably the all-star break to see.

Nene would slow the game down? Highly unlikely. He plays with one of the best fast break teams in the league. I'm sure Phoenix would be perfect for him.
