Okay, let's start with our PG. Here's our problems involving the point...

<ul>
[*]Turnovers - not exactly turnovers from the PG position...but as long as we have mediocre, bench-worthy PGs, Kobe is going to be passing alot, and handling the ball 99 times out of 100. Kobe's turnovers are racking up every game, because we have guys running the point that simply rely on Kobe for the passing game. It's nonsense.
[*]Defense - other than Bobbitt, who we just acquired, not one of our PG's can play defense. Sasha is a stick...Tierre is small and an offensive PG, and Atkins is too short and doesn't move his feet. This is the reason why guys like Nash can throw bounce passes around our guards, lobs, and whatever else he wants to do.
[*]Assists - when Kobe is leading the team in assists...by alot...there's something wrong. Atkins isn't throwing but 3 or 4 a game...and that's not good...and I can't praise Tierre, either. LAME.
Resolution? Get a point guard that is a pass-first type, that can run the fast break without turning the ball over. One that will throw lobs like it's an everyday event...and one that can at LEAST shoot consistently, even if it's 5 shots a game.

Now for our frontcourt...
<ul>
[*]Rebounding - Mihm can't grab boards for some reason...so it's time to work him everyday in practice. Make him crash the boards while letting Sasha shoot from halfcourt. Bring in Manute Bol, for all I care, to crash the boards against Mihm...just to work him.
[*]Defense - our defense in the paint is weak. Mihm was blocking shots in the preseason, but now all he does is foul. And Cook fouls out in 20 minutes of play...no defense. Move your feet...hands up...keep your back to the basket...watch for cuts. It's that simple.
[*]Physical Play - Mihm's body isn't pretty...so why is he acting like a bruise will ruin his life? He needs to get in there and do the dirty work that Brian Grant was doing in Miami last season. Look at Odom. The man is pulling boards, yet he's not even playing his natural position. Cook needs to do the same...it's not college anymore, so wipe the smile off your face.
Resolution? Trade for a PF that can start...someone like Eddie Griffin, who we SHOULD have looked at. Then we can move Odom down to his natural position and it gives us flexibility to play Lamar at the three or four, giving Butler significant minutes as well.

And Kobe Bryant...
<ul>
[*]Scoring - shoot better. That's all I ask. Once you get your shot back, start taking over the game in the 3rd quarter and early 4th...and then go back to passing and making plays (that is, if we don't have a PG yet). If needed, start the engines back up late in the fourth if we're in a close game...but first, find your shot.
[*]Passing - from now on, stop jumping before a pass...and avoid traps by dribbling out of them instead of passing out. Who cares what the media says. Who cares about BSPN. If you need to score, then do it. If you need to pass, then do it.
[*]Physical Play - you've gained alot of muscle, so take it to the rim. No more shots when the clock reads 3 or 4 seconds...just drive, and draw the foul with a finish. Think Jordan, not Magic. You can jump over Dwight Howard and Ben Wallace...so do the same against everyone else.
[*]Emotion - start getting everyone amped. Scream (Garnett does this) and show emotion on the court. Walk up to players when the timeout is called and give them high fives and pats, and still be the first one to the bench...the first one back on the court. Be a leader...but show it in your eyes.
Resolution? Stop worrying about the media. Don't listen to anyone...don't speak anymore, don't give interviews...don't do anything for anyone unless it's your coach or teammates. You're already considered a terrible role model and a low life...with haters saying you crumbled a franchise. Well...those guys aren't in your shoes, and wouldn't ever be able to fill them. Play like Kobe Bryant wants to play, not like everyone else wants you to play.

Feel free to add to it.

Theres nothing to add you said it all and just wanted to say do you think brevin knight would be able to play that role? Because if he can we sure should have tried to get him when we let go of rush.

Oh and i am also very upset at this loss im not going to be able to get a good nights sleep and will have a bad day at school man life sucks when the Lakers lose.

The only problem is that i am a true Laker fan i odnt give up i allways stand up and i will allways be in back of my team and my favorite player.

And for those of you who said that lebron would be the closest to average a triple double for a season think again because Kobe i think has much more chance of doing it. If we dont get a decent point guard.

So to all my Laker fans a loss is a loss we cant go back we need to think about the future and how to improve. Thats all i have to say pleases write soem feed back on what you think.

Thank You

GO LAKERS! We Can Do Anything.

u hit jackpot on everything and also funny how u said Cook needs to do the same...it's not college anymore, so wipe the smile off your face. lolol

<font size="1"><font color="Red">I deleted the first half of your post. Shaq is no longer a Laker, so he's not even an issue when it comes to the purple and gold...and plus, negative comments about Shaq can stir up a Kobe/Shaq debate, something we don't need.

I would add the coaching to the list. I have a problem with the rotations Rudy T and he does not take advantage of mismatches. Until another player can step up consistently, the Lakers need a combination of Odom, Butler, and Kobe on the court at the same time. Even with large leads, whenever the Lakers have only one of the main three guys on the court, the team collapses. I'm also worried about the amount of minutes he's allowing Kobe to log. Sure the Lakers do not have a solid PG like Brandon pointed out, but Rudy T needs to take advantage of Odom handling the ball a little more when Kobe goes to the bench.

Also what is Rudy waiting on before he gives Divac and Slava more PT? The only way they are going to get better conditioned is by playing in games. Divac is an important piece for the Lakers and the more time the players have adjusting to him and vice versa, the better off they'll be.

nice realdeal that's about all there is, I'll add a few things though, not sure if you namesd them though.

New Point Guard: I'm not sure how to do it, but you need a new starting point guard, Chucky Atkins just doesn't cut it. IF you want to be a succesful team, you need a good point guard.

Detroit: Chauncy Billups
Spurs: Tony PArker
Wolves: Sam Cassell
Suns: Steve Nash
Cavs: Jeff McInnis
Heat: Dwyane Wade/ Damon Jones
Orlando: Steve Francis
Sac-Town: Mike Bibby
Dallas: JAson Terry/ Devin HArris
Indiana: JAmaal Tinsley

The only one I'm confused on is Seattle, they are doing great and they don't have any great point guard. I guess LUke Ridnour is better than Chucky Atkins though lol.

Rebounding: The Sixers have this sa,e problem and I'm ot sure what to do without trading, I think if you work on it like you said they will slightly improve over time.

^I agree.

Sometimes when I watch any of these Laker games, i'm just sitting there like "WTF Is Rudy T. doing??"

Like, I remember this one time Cook drained a few nice shots, and starting getting in a roll then it was like Rudy T. would just substitute him out.

Edit: Ace2k2 and I posted at the same time, this was relating to shapecity's post.

Ace .. The Sonics don't have a great point guard, but they have the benefit of being able to use Ridnour or Daniels in a game. The Sonics don't have a dropoff at the position like most teams, so the combined production of those two is usually equal to or better to any other teams at the point guard position.

Bol can hardly move so how would he show Mihm how to crash boards?

Just sarcasm. [IMG] Nothing against Bol or his health, either...the man was a monster defender (especially blocking shots).

would u think??(sarcasm mode : on)
how hard can it be for a 7'8 center to get boards and block shots?
so it doesn't surprise me he was a""good" defender..however.. MJ did make him a poster [IMG]
