AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Toronto Raptors All-Star Vince Carter left Wednesday's game with the Detroit Pistons early in the second half after injuring his left Achilles tendon and did not return. In the first minute of the third period, Carter was driving the baseline when he pulled up. He fell to the floor near Pistons owner Bill Davidson, grabbing the back of his lower leg. He was treated by trainers from both teams, and walked off with the help of teammates. He went the locker room for further examination. The Raptors said Carter would not return to the game and his status beyond that was unknown. Link not looking good for the raptors
Has there been a bigger dissapointment this year that the abrupt down-turn Vince Carter's career has taken? The Raptors actually play much better without him, so maybe its a good thing as far as winning games in the short term. But they'll have an ever tougher time trading his ass.
Half man/half a season strikes again. I've said it 100 times that Vince's offseason work habits (or lack there of) play largely into his injuries. Since college he has been guilty of not doing the proper work in the offseason and it shows in some of his injuries. If you compare people that work hard in the offseason to ones who don't you'll see that the ones who slack are the ones with more injuries.
you guys really need to get over it. he's not as injury prone as you make him out to be. this is supposed to be a minor injury..a few games max. He wasnt injured alot last season at all...and he's been fine so far this year.
^^^ gimme a break, VC is made of paper mache! As the others have said, he does not work hard, he got by in college and his first few yrs in the NBA on god-given talent, but as he gets older, he is gonna have to put the time in the offseason by working out. What a pu$$y! He doesnt even have game anymore! Anybody can score 20 pts from 15 ft and out.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">^^^ gimme a break, VC is made of paper mache!</div> Now that made me laugh. VC just really wants out of Toronto and Toronto wants rid of Carter. I don`t why though. He usually played great until 2 seasons ago.
Injured again? Are people not allowed to have injuries now in the NBA? If I'm not mistaken he did play about 40 games more than Iverson last year and more games than Kobe as well. He is day to day as of now so let's not make a big deal out of this yet..
The thing about Vince is, although he doesn't get injured as much as some people make it out to be, he still plays as though he's injured which is just as bad IMO. At least other players who've come off injuries still make a consistent attempt to take contact and get to the free throw line.... Iverson is an example of that (although he too is guilty of falling in love with the jumpshot way too much). Ever since VC got injured again in the 2002-2003 season, he just hasn't been the same. He lost the fearlessness in attacking the bucket that once made him one of the elite players in the league. Anyways, this current injury couldn't have come at a worse time. There's been rumors that Babcock was ready to pull the trigger on a deal within the next few days and to have VC go down just kills it. If the deal is still on the table, the Raps MUST take it without hesistation. And if say, the Raps don't end up trading him due to his injury scaring other teams away, it would kill me if Vince continues to play half-assed the way he's been doing it so far in the season.

This is a guy who before this season has missed 109 games in 6 years. Thats about 22% of games, almost one out of every 4 possible. I agree, let's not make a big deal out of a minor injury, but can you really blame people for saying it about Vince?
It's a MINOR strain in his achilles and will propably be back within a week, don't make a big deal out of it! Injured again??? .. he played 73 games last season, way more than many superstars, so let's cut.

Those seasons are going to haunt him for a while and are the reason people consider him injury prone.

The 3 seasons prior to that, he rarely missed games. Last year, he missed only nine games, a lot less then other superstars such as Kobe, Iverson, Mcgrady. This year he's playing horrible and he gets injured right when he's about to get traded. I cannot imagine what Vince has has to go through in the past few years, especially this season. Nothing goes his way, he's playing horrible, his trade value is pretty low and no one has respect for him. On top of that, he gets injured when the trriger is about to be pulled. However, he brought every single o e of those thigns on him so I can't really sympathize with him. The good thing is that this is just a minor injury. I hope this doesn't make Vince play even weaker then he's already playing. Please, let's just trade him soon as he comes off the injured list. This is what I exactly feared before. Every day we waste searching for a "perfect deal", is another day that Vince might lower his trade value even lower. Pull the trigger with New Orleans or Portland already!

Yes, he played five games less than Vince last season but T-Mac had a small injury towards the end and could've come back for the last few games but he just gave up on the team and didn't return. I don't think Carter would've done or would do the same. Anyway, I think people make way too much out of Carter's inury.

poor poor vince carter. i understand now why he stated dunking is overatted. it was probally because because of his Tendinitis woes that he knows he is going through. I wonder if Vince was trying to hold this info back from the media so that his team would be in a better poeition to trade v sizzle.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting kobe_8:</div><div class="quote_post">check out vince carter's book coming out soon: <font size="4">VINjured</font> </div> LOL! If the above post is accurate and Vince has missed 22% of his games, then I think that's higher than the NBA average, and we could be justified in saying Vince is injury prone. But let's not focus too much on the negativity. A lot of players still have good seasons after many injuries, ala Grant Hill and Marcus Camby.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting kobe_8:</div><div class="quote_post">check out vince carter's book coming out soon: <font size="4">VINjured</font> </div> That was pretty weak, their was no cliche or anything really eye catching with that phrase, Vinjured doesn't really make sense. If you said half man half season the good old constantly used one at least it sounds nice lol Anyways, not that big a deal, he'll probably be back after the 5 games unless they want to keep him from injuring anything.
