In my opinion, Grant Hill simply 17 games into the NBA season has done more for The Orlando Magic than Tracy McGrady did in FOUR years. Grant Hill has turned Orlando into the feel good story of 2004, and in my opinion he along with The Magic are the NBA equivalent to The Boston Red Sox. Hill, like The Red Sox, are the player/team that every fan stands firmly behind because of what they've endured and encountered, yet they've rallied ahead stronger than ever. Fans will forever support Hill, because of his contributions to the community, because he plays the game the RIGHT way, because he's simply a class act.

Orlando, for the first time in a long while, stand atop their divison (SOUTHEAST) and even boast the best record in the entire EASTERN CONFERENCE. Grant Hill has impressed the nation, proving he still possess the skills necessary to be an effective player in this league. Infact, Hill has stuffed his stat sheet...

    20 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 4 APG, 1.29 SPG

...but the most impressive stat is undoubtedly his remarkable 49.8% from the field this season.

So here's the questions. Is Grant Hill, assuming his statistics and his health hold up, a bonafide Eastern Conference ALL-STAR? Also, Can Orlando maintain their postion atop their division, and perhaps hold down a spot for Homecourt advantage in the First Round?

My answers would be Yes, Yes, and Yes...

I really hope to see Hill starts in the All-Star game, he deserves that! YES, he does!
He's having a strong comeback now, playing every games and he seems like enjoying the games so so so much. Orlando Magic needs him, and I'm so glad the management keep him until today...

Fingers crossed for Grant Hill...Yeah...Hope he can play in every single games in the season, for next year...until he retires here.

Welcome back Grant Hill, and please stay healthy.

Definately I have high confidence on the Magic that they can maintain the position they're holding now into the playoff.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"The good thing about this team is that you have so many weapons, so many guys that are capable," Hill said. "On this team, you've got guys fighting each other for the last shots and that's a good thing." </div>

Grant Hill will be an All-Star this year because heis playing outstanding. He is the feel good story of the year (like you said) and that will make people want to vote for him. I think the Magic will stay number 1 in their division. If they fall past numbe 1, I can't see them dropping past number 3. As for home court advantage, I'm not sure about that. Lets ake the playoffs first [IMG].

magic fan if u cant see them passing down below 3rd spot thats home court [IMG]

I think that we will make playoff's, homecourt I am not to sure about, or winning the East. We have a hard division with Miami, although I cant see Washington staying in the .600's, but I can see them as a difficult contender in the division.
Right now I will be happy with playoff's since I really believe that we can beat anyone in the east, since I think that what will keep us out of top spot is Western Road performances later in the season.

Will hill make a allstar? damn right he will, I voted for him anyway! Why? Hill has been a allstar allways and just a healthy presence on the court gives everyone that feeling of who he is. If Hill is fit when all star weekend is on and not on that team they everyone will be missing out. WIll he start? Not sure, I hope he will, could be difficult for the SF spot.

Yeah Hill is looking really good, he won't reach the level he played at before but he'll definitely reach close to it. This was one heck of a comeback, you won't be seeing Penny doing this anytime soon.

He was talking about division, not conference. Washington and Miama are very close and everything can happen until playoffs come but I think we should still make the playoffs by the end of the season, homecourt is difficult so, the three division winner get it and then the next best.

Hill needs to be an allstar, he is the good story and the NBA needs some good stories, he should even be a starter, he has always been a fan-favorite and I don't see much competition for him within the east forwards:

Carter has also always been a fan-favorite but I don't know about it this seasen
O'Neal is difficult to say after the incident.
Jamison puts up great numbers but has always been overlooked by fans I think.
    R. Jefferson is also putting up good numbers but in a weak team and with little fan attention.
    Same goes to A. Walker.

Which forwards deserve to start in front of him, anyways? Jermaine O'neal and Artest are out of the running. LeBron and Pierce are considered guards. Vince Carter has played like crap. Antoine Walker is getting good numbers on a terrible team, he doesn't deserve to start over Hill. The only one I can think of is Jamison, who's played well on a (so far) winning team. There's no doubt in my mind, Grant Hill deserves to start. He'll be an all-star for sure, barring injuries.

Poor drm2dmk, your team sucks so badly that you have to go into other teams sections and diss them [IMG] . I feel so bad for you and your 8-11 Rockets. Just because we are playing better than your team, have more depth than your team, score more than your team, play better defense than your team, hav younger players that have more potential than your team and that we are in first place in our division, doesn't mean you have to take your anger out on Grant Hill. You hope Hill gets hurt? Well I hope T-mac and Yao get hurt and screw your playoff chances. Then you say we have all Rocket players that are good. Well, you have all Magic players that suck [IMG]. Come on. Tyrone Lue, Juwan Howard and Reece Gaines? I will take Francis, Cato, Mobley and Hedo anyday. Once again, I hope your team starts doing better so you won't have so much anger built up inside of you. So before you start dissing our team, understand that we are the better team and we have better players than you. Sorry I had to do humiliate you and now all of JBB can see that you got [IMG]

Grant Hill has had a very successful season thus far, hopefully he can just maintain his health and keep up the good play. I'll probably vote for him a time or two, and I think he deserves to be on the All Star team after all he's been through.

I think hill will make the All star game this year VC who usually gets in through the fan votes is back at the 2 guard spot this year, and having one of the worst years of his career. Artest the league defending defensive player of the year is gone for the year so he is not going to be in it. There is no dominate KG/ Duncan players in the eastern conference. So it is up for grabs if he gets enough fan votes which he has a good chance at I think he will start. If not he will be voted in my the coaches no question.

He might play the 2 guard spot but he is still listed as a forward in the ballot, don't forget this ballot was created before the season started. Despite his bad year, he has still a huge fan-base, so I wouldn't count him out. The only other forward I can see competing with Hill for fan-votes is J'O'Neal, I think since the incident some more people roote for him. So Orlando Fans, just vote for him and by the way just forget what this other Houston Fan is saying, he is really a sad person...

I hope he does make the All-Star team, he's deserving of that. I always liked Grant for the person he seems to be, though not really a "fan"

I remember when Sprite was so cool. Back when Grant Hill used to drink it.

    G. Hill has my vote no doubt. I've been a Grant Hill fan since Duke, and I'm very happy to see him battle back from his ankle injuries to become a top foward in this league again.

For the love of god I hope we do not become the Red Sox of the NBA. They have some of the most obnoxious and annoying fans you could ever immagine. Trust me, I live in the Boston area. BoSox fans can blow me [IMG]

No need to be mad at him for that. His shin bothered him already in Utah but nothing to worry about until the game against Denver where he got kicked. It has nothing to do with his past problems and he might be even back against the Lakers on Sunday but he also says that he is ready to sit out as many games as necessary.
