Carter pulled up lame while dribbling along the baseline at the offensive end. The initial diagnosis was a strained left Achilles tendon, and Carter did not return to the game. Carter will be re-evaluated in Toronto today, so there remains a possibility it could be worse.

I'm really starting to feel sorry for carter. things are just not looking good for him at all.
maybe a trade will help his career out, and take all of this added preesure of trade rumors off his head.

And then maybe finally carter can just focus on basketball for a change. poor, poor , guy.

Well, if the tests come out negative, he could be out for maybe a week, I'm guessing.

Now, if he tore his Achilles, he'll more than likely be out for the year, much like Voshon Lenard.

I'm not sure exactly what happened though...

They did X-Ray's last night and they were negative, but they're re-evaluating to make sure, probably not that serious, it didn't look like anything big.

Good comment. I feel bad too. Just makes you remember when he was the shining star of the NBA world and now the talk of so much criticism. Its a shame. Don't you think with the time off, it would be a good time to trade him?

Don't you think his trade value has diminished and he's going to be harder to trade because he's injured? [IMG]

Well yeah, but the teams that are really interested in him will stil be interested. It's nothing that big I think. But they will be re-evaluated him so I don't know. I hope it's nothing that bad.

I don't feel sorry for him. The man is simply making way too much money for what he does to evoke any sympathy from me. Just sucks from a business standpoint cause it just adds to his legacy of injuries making it more difficult to trade him. From 'half man, half amazing' to 'half man, half a season', to 'wasn't he that guy that won that dunk contest 20 years ago'?

we all know he can recover...and hes only off for a couple of games

We all know what he can do. Since the raptors have no VC, trade him to get 2! thats right, 2! players in return and get rid of all their problems.

Yeah, he'll be back soon enough, thankfully it wasn't a major injury. Trading Carter is inevitable, it's gonna happen sooner or later. But their problems won't end when he's gone. Getting rid of Jalen Rose and that ridiculous contract, what is it, 3 more years@14 million - is going to be a lot tougher. The Raptors need to rebuild, and other than Bosh and Skip, everyone else is expendable. And if Bosh skips town - if he becomes JO-like in a few years, the Raptors may be history.

I like Bonner too but he can't create his own shot and is more of a role player - don't think he will ever be an NBA starter, no offense to Matt. In a rebuilding situation, I would trade him in a heartbeat for someone more athletic. The Raptors have a lot to worry about right now, not the least of which will be winning back fans after Vince is gone. As much as we may want him to go, what will make the average fan want to go to a game? Losing without a superstar and a team with only 2 atheletes (Bosh and Skip) is going to be a hard sell to the generic fan (who purchases most of the tickets).

I expected this. Did we really all thing Vince was going to play 82 games? Even if he went down for one more game after this we'd get people going 'Oh great here we go, he's injured again, now we can't trade him ever again.'
