Do you ever think about trading Allen Iverson? I mean...maybe that's like asking me if I ever think about the Lakers trading off Kobe Bryant...but here recently, it seems to me like alot of the fans that post in here are disappointed in him. That's just from little comments I've been reading, though...but this morning, I noticed he shot 2-13, with 4 turnovers and 5 assists. If you were to trade him now (that is, if you were interested in doing so), you'd get more value out of him than if you were to attempt to two or three years from now. I believe his contract lasts all the way through the 2008 season (I'm not sure though). So, could he be part of the problem? And, would you ever consider a trade for him? Better yet...do you think the Sixers organization is talking trades involving AI?
Well I would only trade AI if it was abosultly necesary. Or if it was just a straight up good deal. Allen Iverson will stay in Philly though, and I know I want him to stay. Can't speak for other Sixers fans, but I would like him to stay. One bad game in my books doesn't mean I'll trade him. AI is having a spectacualr season thus far, but the Sixers sure arn't. I don't think that Billy King is looking to trade Iverson at all. Right now he's worried about Big Dog. Iverson will stay in Philly for the moment, that I assure you.
If A.I. was ever traded. I would lose almost all of my 76er "fanism". I think alot of Sixers fan would feel the same way. Iverson wants to be here for his career and we want him here for his whole career. He`s the heart and soul of the Sixers. He may have some games which will make us think "TRADE HIS A**!", but in the end lol, we all still love Allen Iverson.
Why fix something if its not broken? Of course right now the Sixers are playing terrible but Allen is still doing what he does and unless he stops doing that there is no point in trading him. I have a feeling this thread was created because the Sixers arent winning.

I would've traded AI when he had better trade value. Every day the Sixers hold on to them is another day he loses value. Personally I would've stayed with Larry Brown rather than chose AI. The guy is a cancer.
Well, I think to other NBA fans they would think it's totally necessary and thinks its right to trade him right away now. But as Sixers fans we don't want to do that beause he's been with us for so long, good and bad moments, his controversies, and everything elsel. This city will be missing out and definitely won't be the same without AI being on the front page of every Philly suburb newspaper.

They missed the playoffs last season, and Iverson has had problems with every coach BUT O'Brien (which may change soon), and it looks as if they aren't going to make the playoffs this year, either. Orlando dumped McGrady, no matter how much the fans loved him...and now look at where they're at. This thread wasn't created because they aren't winning...they haven't been winning all this year or last year. The reason for the thread is to just ask a simple question...with Vince rumors, McGrady's rumors coming true, and Kidd rumors everywhere...where does Iverson fit in? Personally, I think the Sixers should keep him and work on picking up a better supporting cast and a better coach. I'm just asking a question, that's all.
I know there's a lot of people that think he represents Phily but he's not the answer for philly (pardon the pun). It's extremely difficult for a team to win when you have a player taking 20 FGAs a game and shooting 38% FG. Sad but true. Like realdealbneal said, the Magic got rid of their franchise player and look where the Magic are now: Winning The question really comes down to whether you want to keep your franchise player or you want the 76ers to be a great team again. So far the Sixers and their fans haven't been able to have their cake and eat it too.
I've always admired A.I. for how he's fearless in driving to the rim and how he can take a pounding but still get back up again and play. I don't know what the solution is to the Philadelphia situation, but trading Iverson might be pretty tough. I think he's used to being the focal point of the offense, and if you traded him to a team that didn't put him in that starring role, you might see a different A.I. Remember how PO'd he was when he didn't start one of those games?
I'd literally fall down if AI was ever traded by Philly, at least in the near future. He IS Philly to me, personally. Don't think they will find a trade worth it for them to move AI. It's sad, because I really like Iverson. And unless something monumental comes along, the team will continue to really struggle along.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Hot Sauce:</div><div class="quote_post">Kobe shot 2-13, trade him?</div> Wow...no...that's not the point of this thread. The Sixers have had many seasons to produce at least an Eastern Conference Championship...but since 1996, they've had one. Iverson is an incredible player, and has been matched up with Mutombo, Robinson, young players, older players, etc...but nothing is getting the Sixers back to the ECF's. I'm asking everyone how they would react to a trade involving Iverson, if they would even DO a trade for him, and what they thought about the Sixers with a different star. I'm not basing it on his performance...although alot of people have been ripping him lately for the Sixers' 6-game losing streak...including Sixer fans. Geez...it seems like anymore, every post of mine (mentioning Kobe or not) ends up with the name "KOBE" somewhere near it, in the same thread. It's not about Kobe, it's not about the world rotating on the "Kobe Axis"...Iverson and Kobe are in a different division, different situations...and the thread isn't even a Laker thread. It's about Iverson...simple question, guys. No need to bring up Kobe.
Is anyone in the league even worth AI? Maybe Kobe cause he's younger, or maybe Lebron cause he's younger. Dwayne Wade is getting there, but I don't see any other person in the league worth trading for. AI is not worth a Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, or Shaq. In fact I don't think anyone is worth TD, KG, and Shaq, their in a league of their own.

I know he was very immature but he is grown up now and he wants to be a leader. Explain to me how a team's franchise player is a cancer when they've made the playoffs I think it was 4, 5 6 seasons in a row. I would really like to hear your logic on this. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Sixers aren't broken? I know that area is broken but what I am saying is AI sint broken. He is doing his job this year, he is making clutch plays and is trying his best to share the ball (some fans says he is passing to much), but right now the other Sixers arent coming through we have to get a team chemistry together, and our young players have to get adjusted to playing big roles, I think we'll have a better second half of the season.
