I'm just curious, if there are any Raider fans, do you like the Raiders because they are good, or is it because of their jerseys, or is it something else? I'm asking this because at my school, I mainly see people wearing Raider jerseys but I'd walk up to them and ask what do you like about the Raiders and they walk away, as if they don't know nothing. I am leaning towards the fact of the whole jerseys thing but besides that, they love the way the Raiders SUCK! I'm not trying to discriminate or be racist but most of them are Mexicans, because all of the "Raider Fans" wear are the Jerry Rice, Warren Sapp, and the new Randy Moss jerseys. And all they say is Raiders! I just want to shut them up but then I look at my team and I don't see any of my fans at my school. The Raider fans outnumber the Chargers and Raven fans. Any suggestions why this is happening?
If this is High School that you're talking about, then the answer is probably "because the jerseys look cool/tough." High School students who don't follow football often choose Raiders apparel because: 1. Famous rappers and hip hoppers all wear Raiders gear 2. Raiders gear is often associated with gang colors 3. The Raiders are the "outcasts" of the NFL (because of Al Davis) 4. They have the coolest logo in the NFL I doubt 1 in 10 of the people you see wearing Raiders gear in High School has ever seen a game. If you see someone wearing something OTHER than Raiders gear, odds are they're a true fan of the team colors they're wearing.
P.S. It's nice to see that some things don't change. I've been out of High School for 14 years now and even in the heart of Green Bay Packers country in small town America, there were Raiders jerseys everywhere. Of course, that was also the time of Bo Jackson and Marcus Allen, so that had something do with it. Truth be told, at the time there were more 49'ers colors than anything else. The Packers sucked and Jerry Rice and Joe Montana were unstoppable. Those pukes were your classic "bandwagoners" in a pre-salary cap era. Ah, memories...

At the time, the Packers sucked so badly that no one cared. These days it would probably be prosecuted, yes.
