Me and 2 of my friends were arguing the other day about our 40 times that we ran in highschool. When i was a sophmore i ran a 4.8 my friend(Nick) who's always been faster than both of us said he ran a 5.1 in highschool, which i think he has no clue as to what he got and my other friend(Matt) who's always been neck and neck maybe a little faster then me said he got a 4.9. When Nick was a sophmore he was about 5'3 120, when i was a sophmore i was about 6'0 145 and when Matt was a sophmore he was about 5'2 130. Now Nick's about 6'0 160, Matt's about 5'7 175 and i'm 6'2 205. Now, i most probably couldn't run a 5.2 , that's cause i added a few pounds and i haven't ran in ages, but they both still play soccer and get their daily exericise. Well, the other day Nick ran a 4.6 and Matt ran a 4.8. They both argue that if i ran a 4.8 in highschool then i should be able to run it now, i didn't clock myself because i'm on crutches with a bad ankle, but i know that i can't run that even with a healthy ankle cause i added 60 pds and only 2 inches and i don't exercise like them, whereas they grew more up then out and they both still stay active. The question is, do any of y'all think that someone who doesn't exercise regularly and has added some weight since the last time he's attempted to run the 40 could still get the same time???? They think i should be able to get 4.8 easily. I don't, if i ran the 40 i would most probably get a 5.2 easily maybe more. I'm not out of shape or fat or anything, but i've lost my six pack and have added some to the gut tummy region. Anyway, let me know so i can shut these panzies up.
This sounds suspiciously like, "Two trains leave the station in opposite directions. The first train is going 60 mph and the second train is..." *laughs* Truth is, I have no idea. My guess is, you'd probably run it slower than in High School, but with a month or so of training, you could probably get back to that level.

they are likely bs-ing you....4.6 is a fast time....there are hall of fame type RBs that failed to run a 4.6 at the combine(Emmitt, Terrell Davis, Priest Holmes)....hell, Deion only ran a 4.29....so they are basically saying that if they lined up at the 40 yard line and took off with Deion Sanders just 4 yards behind, he would not be able catch them before they scored....for couple of weekend warriors, that seems a bit far fetched to me....I would suggest hand-timing them yourself before you drink that cool-aid....and remember, NFL scouts add .25 seconds to any handtiming to account for the slowness of reflexes.....

I'm sure he could run with some college athletes, well he is a college athlete. Jr. College.
