<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Glenn Robinson may sit out the entire season because of an ankle injury, Philadelphia 76ers coach Jim O'Brien said Friday.

Robinson, earning more than $12 million in the final year of his contract, has been on the injured list all season with left ankle tendinitis and a sore elbow.

"I don't anticipate seeing him at all," O'Brien said. "He said he is incapable of playing. My understanding is that his ankles are incapable of carrying him on the court."

Earlier this season, Robinson was upset that Philadelphia didn't trade him. He averaged 16.6 points in his first season in Philadelphia last year -- down from his career average of 20.8. He lost his starting spot at small forward during training camp to rookie first-round pick Andre Iguodala.

Now it's almost certain he will remain a Sixer. Atleast they can get some cap relief and then they can go after a good FA this summer. I personally think if they wanted to trade him they should have traded him sooner. But, it wont be all that bad.

I just wanna punch this lazy piece of **** in the mug. This guy makes me sick in the stomach more than any other guy in 76ers history.

He really believe he is probably ok to play, but he is just blowing it outta proportion by just saying that he is still hurting. Come on now!

And the injuries that he has aren't even close to as bad as some other sport injuries.

Geez, just look at the crap Mourning is playing through, and he can't even take an Advil because of the side effect it may have on his kidney.

Well maybe if Robinson wants to get traded so badly then he wouldn't announce this to the world. He wasn't going to play any way so now hes just making sure he won't get traded and that shows how much of a***** he is. I want him out of Philly NOW and I think almost every one else does too who is a 76ers fan.

Honestly I was the biggest supporter of the move to get Glenn Robinson when he first came here. After his first season with the team I was very sceptical about the move, and now I am just thinking how horrible it was he has no work ethic first of all, and he thinks he is the greatest thing since MJ. I will be so happy when he leaves the Sixers. I think that we can still trade him if he is able to pass his physical when he is traded to his other team. Im not sure though because a couple players where traded injured like when we did this trade the Wolves traded I think terrell brandon or something to the hawks and he was on the verge of retirement, and had not played in over a season or something like that.

I think Robinsons career like I have said before in this board really ended after he was traded to the Hawks he was never the same after that missed a ton of games histime with the Hawks now missed a ton of games with the sixers over 40 games last year maybe the whole season this year I do not know why people dont come down harder on this guy in the league. If I where a NBA GM I would not take a risk on this guy this off season with anything over the minimum thats how muchlack of respect I have for his game right now.

Good news his contract off our cap gives us money to maybe go after players this off season that can really help this team like possibly Redd ( yeah I know its a long shot), Mobely even though he is expected to stay with the Magic more money would give the team more money to perssue him. There will also be some young guys this off season who we can target young big men and a lot of good guards besides the two I mentioned to target.

Even though Redd is a great player, I don't think he is what we need right now. We are loaded at guards with Iguodala, Korver, Green, McKie, Iverson, and Salmons. I think we should go after a good/great power foward of center with the money that we save from Glenn.

They need a C/big man. Ever since Mutombo left, there was always a hole at that position. Now, if Dalembert can put up num, bers close to what he did on the Bulls game they would be fine. Dalembert did his thing last year, so why does it now seem he is finally getting burn?

Well I was reading over hoopshype the other day, and they siad that we are amoung the teams expected to target cuttino Mobely this off season and they said that Orlando is mst likely not to let ihm go though despite him probably demanding 8 million per year. since John Weisbord is in love with the guy. So I am thinking if we are targeting one sharp shooting guard and might most likely not get him. We could probably target another one as a back up plan.

Though I do realise are biggest need in the big man slot. Are team is got a over load at basically every position I eman look at it you already emntioned the guards, but then at small forward we have a huge over load, and at Power forward we have Davis, Skinner, KT, and Williamson. then at center we have SD and Marc Jackson so we are deep at every position we will most likely have to let a lot of guys go after this season if we want to really improve since w ehave so many guys at the same slots.

I think that there are a couple big man that would suit our team out this upcoming off season, but teams will most liekly target them all over the league since a big man is the most priceless thing in the NBA now a days. Teams like the Clippers if they do well this season, and Bulls who will both make a run to either keep/ aquire Chandler or Curry this off season. Then there are teams like the Bucks who will target most of the other sub pare big men on the market.

IN a way, I am disappointed G Rob didn?t even get an opportunity to play this season. I don?t know if he is really injured or not so that?s why it?s a shame to hear news like this.

Yeah Glenn Robinson, some see him as a scrub and all that stuff, but I believe he could have helped us out some, he would give us a pure shooter off the bench, and that?s something we seem to be missing at times.

I am glad that he cant be traded now, this can really help us with cap relief, now that Glenn Robinson has an expiring contract we can go after a "big name" free agent. I have heard the Sixers are interested in signing Philly native Cuttino Mobley.

Exactly his cap relief will allow the sixers to search for the promising free agent that they really want.
