I think this team will improve as the year goes on but let's face it, we're gonna be in the lottery again. Now I've been looking at some players who may declare and there are two main types of players we need. A point guard with some height who can push the ball up the floor or another Big Man. I don't care if it's a 4 or 5, we need someone to grab boards, block shots and play good post Defense. Getting another wing player would be worthless. He wouldn't get any play time here, leaves, blossoms elsewhere. As far as points go I don't think we'll do bad enough to get Chris Paul from Wake Forest so.... http://www.nbadraft.net/profiles/raymondfelton.asp This kid's name is always in draft hype but this year he should declare. http://www.nbadraft.net/profiles/johngilchrist.asp 6'2 and 201. The kid's a tank. The only problem is his attitude. http://www.nbadraft.net/profiles/rudyfernandez.asp The kid's only 19 and is 6'5. Seems like a good prospect. Big Men: Besides Chris Taft, it doesn't look so hot right now. Andriuskevicius we won't get(due to New Orleans and Chicago are worse) and it'll take him a few years to develop. Most of the bigs aren't post players and are projects. They are all underdeveloped physically and we need a banger. If the points are all gone I say go with Turiaf(http://www.nbadraft.net/profiles/ronnyturiaf.asp) to do some dirty work off the bench. Hopefully later on we can bring Biedrins off the bench to play 4 and sometimes move to the 5. Murphy can shoot the J's and Biedrins can use the post. Biedrins seems like a very nice kid who is working hard with the staff. Every article I've read that mentions practice says he is one of the last ones there still working on his game. Mullin pulling his mojo and getting Biedrins to skip workouts to get drafted by us was probably his best move so far. St. Jean never did that...
I like Biedrins. Now we just have to get a good pick like Pietrus was. An athlete and a very good enegry and defensive player
I just want a pick like Tim Duncan, Jason Kidd or Lebron James was. They have the physical skills to compete almost right away, the fundamentals, and they are matchup nightmares. We never get lucky with those picks.
I don't know who they should draft. Once Richardson develops into a more of a star and Dunleavy becomes that effective second option is when the Warriors will become a great team. The players like in the 96 and 03 draft are really hard to come by so I doubt the rookies in 05 will be that good like last year but, the development of players is when the Warriors will really succeed.

But I'd like to see the Warriors get a good pick like we did in Vince Carter and trade him and not actually trade him for some pice of junk like a declining star or some horrible rookie. Then maybe we could make the Playoffs once Richardson Pietrus and Murphy all get tons of minutes like they deserve.
I no what you're syaing but, I doubt this class will be as good as the other great ones. You might have some decent players here and there but young superstars are very hard to come accross. Hopefully ther will be one next year but, I doubt it.
I hope they don't do some move similar to that Jamison/NVE. If they get a legit rookie they should get him to stay. Why trade a young Jmaison for an aging NVE?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting custodianrules2:</div><div class="quote_post">Because the W's management really overrated Dunleavy.</div> Jamison was the Warriors best player. Why move him for an ailing star that has bad knees and won't put effort into playing for a losing team?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Air Pietrus:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah and why trade Vince Carter for Jamison in the first place?</div> Well in college Carter wasn't a main option. North Carolina was a well diversified team and had Jamison on that squad as well. I would like to think the warriors scouts would be able to know that and scouted him properly. Jamison wasn't a bad pick but Carlesimo was in control at the time and wanted him. St. Jean wanted Paul Pierce. As far as next year's draft I think a lot of young kids who have not already declared will. This draft isn't very strong and if those kids declare their pretty much guaranteed to be a top ten pick. Every year at this point kids always say they want to finish school but when the top ten pick contract is dangled, they'll bite. Look at the 2006 mock draft @ www.nbadraft.net. Highschool center named Greg Oden is this year's highschool phenom. His games are on ESPN2. Check out some of the kids from 06' because that class looks STRONG and I am sure a few of them will jump.

I think it would be great to get a PG that fits this team well in the draft. I think with that pointguard, Jason Richardson, Pietrus, Murphy, Dunleavy(?), Biedrins, etc. that this team can compete. I like Rudy Fernandez if he comes out, but I don't know if he is a PG or the PG we need, but he's a proven winner I believe. But if he's a SG/SF I don't know where he fits unless if the Warriors do pull of a trade for Kidd. Maybe the Warriors trade for a PG like Hinrich in the draft instead(7.5 assists on the Bulls is impressive)...I think Hinrich could turn into a Nash/Kidd type of PG, which could really help this team a lot in the long run. Hinrich would had been nice with Musselman who is a master at getting a lot out of his PG's, as he was a PG in college and I would imagine his whole life.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Air Pietrus:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah and why trade Vince Carter for Jamison in the first place?</div> OK. I said this things over and over again, but I will say one more time. There was no Carter for Jamison trade to begin with. Yes, officially we traded Carter for Jamison, but in reality, we have zero chance of getting Carter. Toronto (4th) wanted Carter all along, and if necessary, they were ready to move up to get him. And, we (5th) aimed for Jamison all the time. Problem was that Dallas (6th) also wanted Jamison, and they asked Toronto to swap picks so that they can draft Jamison. Toronto was mildly enjoying that proposal, and Warriors didn't like what was going on. So, Warriors basically said 'shut up' to Toronto for the price of $200,000 and little bit of caproom (difference between 4th and 5th pick salary). The year before that draft, Bucks (4th) and Wolves (5th) also swap the pick, and Wolves had to pay an unprotected first rounder to Bucks. If there was an actual trade, there is no way for Toronto to receive measy $400,000 to $500,000 for that swap. Because Dallas didn't get Jamison, they decided to 'settle' for a one German player named Dirk. At that time, Bucks (9th) wanted Tractor Traylor, but they knew that he would be gone. So, they called Dallas to swap the pick for some compensations, which I can't remember at this point. Yes, Dirk and some nice package for Traylor... At retro respect, was there a chance of us drafting Carter? Probably not. It would require a great acting job that we absolutely didn't want Carter in any circumstance. Also, Toronto would never make that trade if there is a little possibility that we would draft Carter, and our SG at that time was Starks, so the chance of making that swap was very minimal to begin with. So, in a sense, we kinda acted unnecessary, and that also showed how much PJ wanted Jamison as well. Besides, how many people will actually pick Carter over Jamison at this point?
