Keys To The Game

    Milwaukee Bucks

Control The Tempo No matter what pace Bucks may try to go with, the 76ers will be able to keep up. However, they should look to keep the game really fast pace. While the 76ers can be just as good with the transition game and getting into the open court, the 76ers transition defense isn't there. So while the 76ers may be somewhat content if the pace of the game was very up-tempo at the same time, they would have trouble defending it when the opposition uses it against them. The Bucks has much better finishers, and it would be smart if they decided to keep running.
Deny Ball Penetration From Iverson Iverson has been struggling dearly with his shooting as of late. So it's only smart to clog the lane in which he won't be able to score. Against the Bulls he had 6 of his 8 FG's in the paint, so the Bucks need to try and force him to his weak side which is preferably the left and make him take jump shots.
Perimeter Defense Before this could be done, they must not let Iverson get into the paint, if they fail doing this the Bucks must watch keep an eye out around the perimeter. Marc Jackson, Kenny Thomas, Andre Iguodala and Kyle Korver has been feeling the perimeter shot as of late. However, they're most notable perimeter shooter (Kyle Korver) cannot create shots, and Igudoala takes those perimeter J's when he's open. So in order for the Bucks to take the 76ers out of the perimeter game, they need to deny Iverson ball penetration. Once Iverson gets into the paint he draws so much attention and the defense usually collapses on him in which he is able to kick the ball out to the likes of Jackson, Korver and so on.
Philadelphia 76ers

Redd & Mason Kyle Korver and Andre Iguodala do not know what they're getting into. These two young guys are going to get their hands full defending one of the leagues best shooters and one of the leagues most explosive players. Thus that is why, the 76ers should look to give help when defending these two trouble makers. Iverson is going have to keep up with Mo Williams which won't be too hard, but at the same time, Thomas and Iverson may have to step up here and there just to get either Redd or Mason to hesitate before make their move because Korver and Iguodala is going to have a hard time with them.
Aggressive On The Boards The Bucks has some nice size in the middle, but with Dalembert supposedly being in the starting lineup, it?s a major boost on the boards. However, at the same time the 76ers must look to stay aggressive on the boards, and go after every rebound because they cannot let the Bucks get too many second change opportunities. With a deadly perimeter shooter such as Redd he may miss once but if he gets the ball back on the same possession you can bet he will knock it down the second time around.
Feed Iverson & Korver With Redd and Mason it's most likely that they are going to have big games against this 76erse defense, so the 76ers need to counter back. For starters, they have the 3-Time Scoring Champion so that?s defiantly an advantage and they have one of the leagues best shooters, so that?s another plus. But the fact and the matter is that, they must get Iverson going early on. And with Iverson bad FG% they cannot afford him to start taking his first shots with 4 minutes after tip off. Iverson needs to get it going quick, because you can bet that later on he will end up in a shootout with Michael Redd. But then again Iverson isn?t much of a shooter, so they must look at Kyle Korver to also get off quick in which he can draw some attention and then Iverson would be give more room to create.
Probable Outcome: (Not My Opinion) This game can go either way. There is no clear cut victor for this team, and it all may come down to who has the home court advantage and in this case it?s the 76ers. Now while they have home court advantage that doesn?t necessarily mean they will win, because both teams are pretty evenly matched up especially because of what they been through as of late. But it?s most likely this game will come down to which team hustles and plays aggressive.

I agree. I honestly have no idea who I think will win. I say the Sixers by 3.

I see the 76ers if they have any hope of starting to establish themselves as a playoff team showing that they are one against the less than great Bucks in this one as I start to look at the matchups here is one thing that stands out to me the point guard matchup we have AI who has great gands and speed going against a relativily young Mo Williams who does not have much experence I think we can take advantage of that matchup to the fullest extent with hiim coming up with a lot of steals and pushing the ball on the break.

Then when I look at the shooting guard matchup it is hard to distinguish who will be able to win that matchup although Redd is a great shooter Iggy is a great defender so he may be able to shut down Redd's game. Redd is a all star though so I have to give him the advantage against a rookie player despite my loyalty to the Sixers and the fact I feel Iggy is a good enough defender to contain him.

Then the small forward matchup will be the best matchup of the night for this game it features a player who is a great athletic player with great dunks vs a ppure shooter high in the league in three point field goal percentage. It is going to be the matchup of the night in my mind and should be nice to watch to see which is better to have on your team.

Then we finally have our best possible front court starting this game ABOUT ******* TIME JO. We have SD who had a double double in his first start of the year against the bulls and 6 blocks and we have KT who is just a great player who i hope to see as a Sixer for a long time going against joe Smith a great rebounder and has some what of an offensive game as well as Dan Gadzuric who I think we can take advantage of this game.

Anyway I predict that the Sixers will take this one 98-88 final score. AI has a double double 28-12 and SD has 3 blocks.

I agree with most people, I can't really tell who's going to win this game. But I'm sure if Sammy D plays and puts up his double double, then the Sixers have a better chance of winning. If he puts up the 4 points and 3 rebounds in 8 minuets crap, it's just going to be like one of the six losses. So I think the key to this game is for JimO to play Samuel Dalembert 25+ minutes

agreed with the rest of you, these teams are well matched up. If Michael Redd catches fire early in the game and continues to stay on fire coupled with the Bucks' getting offensive boards for second chance points I think they will take it.

    1) Get SAMMY involved, try to feed him easy baskets.
    2) IF Kyle struggles, DO NOT let him keep taking those 3 PT shots.
    3) Out rebound them

    4) Watch out for Desmond MAson
    5) dont let Mike Redd get the hot hand

    1) Sammy Dalembert just came off as his best game of the season so IT would be a major plus if we can make his confidence level increase so he'll be playing consistent basketball while getting a double double.

    2) These past few games Kyle has been struggling with his 3 Pt shots and shooting in general, If Kyle KOrver starts to struggle, DO NOT let him keep shooting crossing your fingers he'll make the shot.

    3) Simple IF we out rebound them we'll have an advantage. Withour best rebounding front court this shouldn't be too much of a problem. Sammy and Kenny were both averagin double doubles at the last games last season. KEnny for the whole season, Sammy for the last 2 months or something like that.

    4) Desmond Mason will drive it in trying to draw a foul and when he does that try not to initiate the foul. Kyles been doing a god job of holding his ground these past few games against this though, so he should be able to do it.

    5) Last night Ben Gordan got the hot hand and led his bulls to beath the timberwolves! Play defense on redd this whole game, dont give him an open shot because I assure you he'll make it. When Mike Redd gets the hot hand he can drop a hell of a lotta pointd on you, so we better make him really work for his shots if he wants to make them.

Prediction: 98-91 Sixers, They got some confidence in their win against the Bulls, lets hope they can maintain it.

Like I said I fully expected AI to take advantage of this matchup he goes for his first 40 point game of the season as well as 10 assists that is very good and the Sixers are currently winning by three with less than a minute left hopefully we can hold on to the lead. I think we can I mean we just got to guard Redd and the perimeter shooters and nail any free throws we get. Damn am I proud of Kenny Thomas 18 points 16 rebounds the man is incredable he should have started every game for the Sixers this season dont know what JO was thinking benching him.

Marc Jackson had a huge game 26 points so far. That is very good and SD although he didnt light it up has been solid this game on the boards he has 9 boards 6 rebounds so far. as well. now we are up by one with 40 seconds left. We have the ball to and Joe Smith just picked u a foul his fourth of the game. Marc Jackson so far has a season high for him in free throw attempts this game. He just hit two clutch free throws for us as well. Now up 103-100 with 21 seconds left. This game is over if we paly defense and knock down our free throws. Korver has not played well this game only 5 points on 2-9 shooting 1-7 from the arc.

Quote:

Marc Jackson overshadowed Allen Iverson and overwhelmed the Milwaukee Bucks.

Jackson came off the bench to score 20 of his season-high 28 points in the fourth quarter, lifting the Philadelphia 76ers to a 107-101 victory over the Bucks.

Iverson scored a season-high 40 points, reaching the plateau for the 51st time in his illustrious career. But he had just four points in the fourth quarter, which Jackson dominated.

Working against a pair of slender big men in Dan Gadzuric and Joe Smith, Jackson was unstoppable, knocking down jumpers, bulling his way for layups and getting to the line by controlling both backboards.

HAhaha I remember every body was crying about Marc JAckson starting instead of Sammy. I thught M-Jax was a better starter, but Fridays Bulls game convinced me that he was a better starter, but this game just convinced me otherwise. He had like 28 Points in the game, im sure if he started he would've beaten his CAREER high. I think now Marc Jackson will be the starter, but maybe thiswas showing he works better as a bench player.

    The Big 3
    IVerson: 40 Points, 10 assist
Kenny THomas: 20 Points, 18 rebounds
    Marc Jackson: 28 Points

These three all had season high in points. It worked good having a three man rotation between Kenny THomas, Sammy, and Marc Jackson. They shoulddo something like that more often.
Also Aaron McKie IMO should get some recognition for his defense. Didnt really recognie it put McKies pressure defense was there.
    God job Sixers.

Despite this game I believe Smmy still is our best choice to start. First off he is younger than Marc Jackson is meaning he has many years ahead of him left in the league and he is already playing at the same level that Marc Jackson can play at a majority of the game nights. Marc Jackson will have his big games here and there, but most of the times he is a avaerage 10 and 7 or 12 and 8 player at best.

I believe coming off the bench Marc would be a better player because of it for us. First he would give us depth and like he showed he can produce well off the bench maybe even better than he played as a starter because he has less pressure on him rather than when he was starting. SD also gives us more of a defensive minded player on the court than Marc Jackson is SD is longer, and I believe has a bigger wing span that makes him a good defender.

I do not think it would be a problem if we hadeither of them starting and they both played equal minutes, but JO really does not know how to bring a young man off the bench and give him the right amount of minutes he deserves. So by having SD as a starter you make sure he gets the right amount of playing time, and since Marc is a vetern JO knows how to give him playing time, and the best situation to play him in.

So for us to continue to be successful KT and SD should both be the starters rather than jackson and Davis. I mean we are 2-0 the last two games with KT and SD have started so its working out well, but when Davis and Marc start we are under .500 so unless we start losing again I think we have finally found the correct starting lineup for this team.

Yes Sammy isnt younger than Marc Jackson, but at the moment MarC jackson is producing much more for our team. Sammy will be the starter of the future if he decides to stay with us. An average night for Marc JAckson is about 14 and 7. Thats average. An average night for Sammy is 4 and 6. Marc JAckson is capable of exploding like he did today with 28 points.

Well the reason he played extra good IMO is that he wants his starting spot spot back. If we let Sammy start the next few games Marc Jackson will continue to work for his spot, but after the 5th game, I think he'll give up and go on a normal night. Sammy for defense, Marc for Offense. They should get about equal minutes depending on the situation.

If Sammy is able to produce off the bench then Jim O Brien will trust in him more there fore giving him more minutes, but if he sucks Jim won't give him shit. Simple as that.

Well the starters were Kenny tHomas and Marc Jackson not Jackson and Davis. Regardless of whos starting for the Sixers they do the best when they have Kenny tHomas and Marc Jackson on the front line. That is usually when they have their nice little runs with MArc Jackson getting an offensicve rebound.

Sammy last year shiowed he has the ability to be our starter of the future and a defense minded player for this team like what Mutombo was for us. He lost his spot as a starter wrongly at the beginning of the season without being given the shot to prove to everyone he could continue to do what he was doing last season.

According to his season stats Jacksons average night is 14 and 6.30 rebounds not 7. The only reason that Sammy's stats have been so low are due to the minutes he has been given. Marc Jackson is averaging 28.3 minutes a game this season. Then SD's average night this season ahs actually been 5 points and 6.10 rebounds in the Sixers season so far when Dalembert has played over 20 minutes a game he has upped all of his stats his field goal percentage is at 50 % and is averaging 8.8 points and rebound s agame as well as 2.40 blocks per game to be exact he has only played 24.7 minutes in these games, and they have won 6 times. In 8 of the Sixers loses he has failed to play over 17.3 minutes. SO you can not hate on him because of his stats because he performs when he gets minutes and does a lot more in the blocking and rebounding department in 24.7 minutes then Jackson does in 28.3 mintues.

ACtually last seaosn eh ahd a few stretches of games where although Sammy had been the starter for a while he was scoring very well off the bench for the team, but then he got the hand injury which kept him out for a while. Jackson is a scorer, and good spark off the bench, but his lack of blocking and not as well polished rebounding game makes me look at him as a spark plug off the bench rather than a starter.

Quoting Ace2k2:

If Sammy is able to produce off the bench then Jim O Brien will trust in him more there fore giving him more minutes, but if he sucks Jim won't give him shit. Simple as that.

Like I said before when SD has gotten minutes off the bench he has produced for this team effectively yet JO does not keep his minutes consistant when he is coming off the bench when he averages over 20 minutes agame the team has one 6 games when he only has 17.3 minutes a game the team ahs lost 8 games, and by the waythis season he only averages 20 minutes 8 less than Marc Jackson yet his stats are almost equal in rebounding 6.10 to 6.30 and he averages one more block then Marc Jackson in less time, and when philly went to the finals defense is what carried them so even mroe reason to give SD the starting spot. in 8 less minutes he is only 6 efficency points from Jackson as well.

Quoting Ace2k2:

Well the starters were Kenny tHomas and Marc Jackson not Jackson and Davis. Regardless of whos starting for the Sixers they do the best when they have Kenny tHomas and Marc Jackson on the front line. That is usually when they have their nice little runs with MArc Jackson getting an offensicve rebound.

Marc Jackson at this point in the season averages 2.80 offensive boards while Sammy Dalembert tin 8 less minutes averages .80 less then him. and .20 total less rebounds then him so i dont think that is what makes the difference. I think as long as you have Kenny Thoams in there along you do not suffer much on the offensive baords regardless.

Truth and bottom line ackson gives you a little more offense. While SD gives you better rebounding, blocking, and inside pressence.

Quoting Pure Skillz:

Sammy last year shiowed he has the ability to be our starter of the future and a defense minded player for this team like what Mutombo was for us. He lost his spot as a starter wrongly at the beginning of the season without being given the shot to prove to everyone he could continue to do what he was doing last season.

But JAckson this season he showed he has the ability to be our starter of the present. Just like you said Sammy is our starter of the future. Mutombo and Sammy do have similar games and I do miss Mutombo. I just don't think that Sammy is at Mutombo level yet. Appartently JAckson proved to be the better starter in Training Camp.

Quoting Pure Skillz:

My bad, I don't recognize the stats, but 6.30 isnt that far off from 7. Hes only been given about 4 more minutes than Jackson according to you. Jackson should have about 3-4 points and 2-3 rebounds on Sammy. Dalembert is a better blocker and rebounder than Jackson and that's it. Just like you said in defending McKie. Salmons is unproven, while McKie is a established veteran or something along those lines. I could say the same here.

Actually that's a very good point right there

yup "defense wins championship" again. The Lakers that won those 3 championships offense exceeded their defense and they won 3 rings together.
Shaq- Good defensive player, but ofeense was MUCH better
Kobe- Again one of the best defensive players of the year, but Offense was greatly overshadowed it.

The only team in the past decade that won a championship thats defense excceeds its offense is the Pistons. Possibly the Spurs and the Rockets, but those teams had great offensive weapons as well as defence. The Bulls and Lakers clearly had a better offense.

Heres my motto "A offense full of great passers can destroy even the greatest of defences" Jackson is a better passer than Dalembert by a lot. Dalembert isn't that great of a passer.

    *4 less minutes
Kenny Thomas is a capable double double guy as is Sammy. Sammy or MArc JAckson will work

Better Rebounding yes, better blocking yes, better inside presence No no no! Jackson is a better inside presence. I'll say it again. The things that Sammy has on JAckson is blocking, rebounding, and defense, personally I think both of these players are capable of starting.

Lol Pure Skillz I think your going for your former JBB MVP title as Most of your post I saw recently are like 5 paragraphs long. [IMG] great good points and that sticks out more. Lol some oen could make 5 paragraph of just saying aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
