Hey I don't mind it...we scored the 100th pick in the draft out of it...we can get some solid depth with that pick and the other two who knows...Pioli has been very good at landing late round talent so I'm not gonna complain..

thsi happens every year, the same teams get picks and certain teams never get any....and every year, someone will insist that the NFL uses a "formula" so there cant be any bias, yet no one can ever produce this "formula" and no one wants to admit that even if the "formula" exists, you still have to assign a value to players subjectively to insert them into the formula....all I know, is that the year the Dolphins lost a player coming off a 16 sack season to a team that signed him to a huge deal, they didnt get anything....they lost Todd Wade to the Texans last year, he signed a huge deal, and they didnt get squat....they lost Greenwood to a big money deal this year, and they wont get squat....also, how can a guy like Marcus Robinson be a qualifying FA for the Ravens? they signed him to a one year - minimum salary deal, then they lose him to the Vikings and get compensation? thats ridiculous....you should only be compensated for those you drafted....

Ogunleye (sp??) was not a free agent, they traded him. Just like TO was not a free-agent Eagles traded for him.

It's simple, if you lose more players through free agency then you gain, you will get picks. It also depends on who you lose, if it's a pro-bowler, starter..etc..

We lost Ted Washington...to a good size contract...who at the time was considered the main reason our defense bounced back from the 2002 season and we lost a pro bowl G in Damian Woody to a crazy contract. Bobby Hamilton though not flashy is a solid player and Compton is avg at best...I'm not sure we or anyone should get 3-4 picks but I think the 3rd and 7th would have been fair because both Woody and Washington are both very good players.

He also had half a sack with the Raiders the following year. I think they also take into account the Age, and the future productivity of the player.

    Let's see

Ted Washington improved in almost every category from the year before. He played more games, more tackles, more sacks more everything.

    Trace Armstrong did not.

I just looked at the list....how the hell do the Cowboys get a 6th for Mario Edwards, who they released? Or Ekuban, who has never done anything? How does Baltimore get a 6th for Robinson, a player they signed to a 1 year minimum deal? They didnt invest anything in him, they just signed him, reaped the benefit of him playing and then get a pick cause he left....how is that guy a "qualifiying free agent"?....according to the list, the Chiefs got compensation for Jonathon Quinn, are you freaking kidding me? you should never get compensated for the loss of a free agent that you acquired as a free agent begin with....its been biased for a long time....

The comp picks are just a bunch of BS. Bias is a good word to describe them too. Its all pretty stupid IMO.

If theres one thing I know, its that an Eagles fan will spin the numbers in there favor, but when you look them up, its rarely a true representation of the situation, so lets take a quick peek and the "improvements" that warrant such a high pick:

    2003 Patriots 10 Games 40 Tackles 32 Solos 8 Assists 2 Sacks 1 FF
    2004 Raiders 16 Games 41 Tackles 33 Solos 8 Assists 3 Sacks 1 FF

Holy Shit, those are some huge improvements....he played in more games, thats for sure....yet produced nearly identical numbers, 1 more tackle, 1 more sack in 6 more games....those numbers seem worse to me....seems like his production has actually fallen off a bit considering all the extra games it took to get an identical(or close to it) season....any other misleading statemtents you would like to add to your argument?....

Lol. You beat me to that one Beef. Whan I saw BF1's "compensory picks" thread, I jumped in intending to provide that blast from the past. As usual, I was a day late and a dollar short.
