<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Tribute to H2O:</div><div class="quote_post">Wow. This is some pretty interesting stuff. That's a great trio of perimeter players. Looks like the Nets are looking to duplicate the line up we're trying to build. And the Raptors will have be better as well. We just might have that Battle of the Atlantic afterall.</div> We're winning of course
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting mrj18:</div><div class="quote_post">We're winning of course </div> But of course. It'll make things much more interesting if the Nets were able to defend themselves. I didnt enjoy that game against the Nets(well I did but not as much as I thought I would). There was no Kenyon Martin, no Kittles. Kidd didnt even play his normal amount of minutes. Jefferson is still there...but its just not the same. Hopefully this trade goes down. That way I can have my short lopsided Battle of the Atlantic and thoroughly enjoy the Knicks crushing Nets
i dunno...about Knicks vs. Nets Knicks have a stronger frontcourt, although still not a great one themselves. But its an edge none the less Kidd-Carter-Jefferson is a better backcourt than Marbury-Crawford-Houston in my and most others(i'd be willing to bet) opinions. Assuming of course Kidd gets back to 100%, as well as Houston and Carter. Bench is about even between teams. Maybe a slight edge to New York. But i think the Nets will be a more consistent team overall, and have better coaching. I predict Nets win more games from Vince Carter activation time than the Knicks do....by a decent margin as well.

Their games really compliment eachother well. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Kidd-Carter-Jefferson is a better backcourt than Marbury-Crawford-Houston in my and most others(i'd be willing to bet) opinions. The Knicks have two great ballhandlers, and a great shooter. Marbury can create for both Jamal Crawford and Allan Houston who can easily make them pay. Jefferson has gotten better with his shooting but, it is still somewhat inconsistant. I guess you can say it is better but, this backcourt will be fine for our team while their backcourt will be good for their team. About the bench, I will have to disagree with you. The Knicks have great role players in Penny Hardaway, JYD, Moochie Norris, Sweetney, TT will be better off the bench, and Trevor Ariza. Are you honestly saying this is a slight edge over: Best, Buford, Mercer, Planinc, Vaughn, Scalabrine, and Dickens? I think in my and many others opinions will say that New York has a much better bench. The Knicks bench is huge factor in whether they win or not. Role Players like JYD are hard to come by and not many teams have that kind of hustle/heart/defensive player. Can you really say they will be a more consistant team after giving up their only center and the rest of their frontcourt? They didn't even get a big man from the Raptors. The Nets now only have Collins: not your ideal image of a center. Kristic: a very talented rookie but, too inexperienced and only 21. And Brian Scalabrine: a good hustle player that shows heart but, he is a bench role player. That and that only. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> I predict Nets win more games from Vince Carter activation time than the Knicks do....by a decent margin as well.</div> I see you have much faith in Vince Carter. I disagree that the Nets will win more games than New York. I do think New Jersey definitely got better with Vince Carter but, I think their acquisition of Carter still has its flaws to it. The Nets can definitely sneak into the playoffs however, their lack of big bodies will prove costly for them in the playoffs and as well in the season. There is no way any of us can rpove eachother wrong on this but, to watch and see what each team does.
I agree with MJ18, the Knicks have a clear edge both in the frontcourt & on the bench. Frontcourt is clear as day in favor of the Knicks Mohammod is alot better offensively then Collins, as well as rebounding, they both pick up alot of stupid fouls tho. And Kurt Thomas vs Brian Scalabrine, well besides the fact that Scalabrine's shooting range can stretch to three Point distance, he really has nothing on Kurt thomas. I think the thing that makes their bench & frontcourt, so much better is the verstilty the Knicks can bring off the bench particularly with their frontcourt guys. Jermome Williams can play multiple postions, Tim Thomas can play both forward spots(if he goes to the bench). And Sweetney can play PF & a little undersized Center. The Nets simply dont have that type of frontcourt depth & versatilty coming off their bench. I dont really worry about the Knicks bench perimeter because they have alot of interchangable parts starting on the perimeter with Houston, Crawford, & Steph. But I still think if the Nets perimeter meshes well they are better. Crawford at the 2, has more range then Jefferson. But Jefferson is a more consistent scorer, better shot selection. And just all-around a much better player imo. Jefferson creates more plays for others, much better on ball defender and better rebounder. Vince & Houston at the three spot. I dont know Vince was a clear cut better player a couple of seasons ago. I still think he is better but not as far apart as many may precieve. But Vince is better suited to play the 3spot even tho he might play the 2 with Jefferson going back to the 3. Anyway, the only position the Knicks may have an edge actucally is at the point. With Kidd coming off an injury, does he still have the impact all-around that he once had? If not then Steph probably passes him as the better point guard. Steph has gotten better defensively this year as the season has went long, still not the team defender as kidd. But not that far off as an on-ball defender imo, cause Kidd's on-ball defense was always overatted. Kidd is still the better opencourt playmaker. But Steph is the better half-court playmaker. Nobody at the point rebounds like a healthy Kidd tho...so I dont know. I think if Kidd doesnt get back to close to full strenght, where he can do the rebounding & team defensive things that sperate him from the rest of the pack.. Steph probably becomes slightly better.
