Atkins And it seems as if Lewis is having Caron and Jumaine for dinner...but I guess I should've predicted this. Caron has been playing like crap his last couple games.
For you guys watching the game, can someone tell me what Butler is doing out there on defense? I know...nothing...but can you tell me what he's doing wrong?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting BODY_COUNT:</div><div class="quote_post">^ We're not, but Real Deal's prediction sounds like a movie script with Kobe in the main role lol</div> LOL it's true, his last one had Kobe winning the game winning shot.
Sonic's fans we might witness history tonight.... at the half Jerome James is on pace to set his career high in points!!

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Real Deal:</div><div class="quote_post">Fine, if my previews are that bad, I'll avoid posting them from now on.</div> Naw man I don't mean it like that. you're previews are good and you have real good analysis, but it's true, the last two preds (I think last two) have Kobe hitting the game winning shot. I mean, I'll come out and give you props for calling the game if he does hit the game winner or seal the game but that does sound like something out of a movie. Basically, I just think there's just a pretty good chance the outcome of the game won't be that close or dramatic. But who knows, I could be wrong as well. No knock on your previews, you have a lot of good analysis and previews. BTW the Sonics are their own worse enemies, they've sent the Lakers to the line for 20-29 FTs. The Sonics have only been to the line 11 times and landed 8 FTs.
This game has been a perfect example of teammates not getting it done. For those of you who are watching, how valuable is Odom to this Laker team, aside from rebounds?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Real Deal:</div><div class="quote_post">This game has been a perfect example of teammates not getting it done. For those of you who are watching, how valuable is Odom to this Laker team, aside from rebounds? </div> Brandon I have been saying trade him all season, who cares if we can rebound, rebounding is easy, it is an easy thing to get, look we just draft a big guy and Rudy T. can work with him. We need a 2nd option, and right now Odom is not getting the Job done. Trade Odom for Baron straight up, it is great. We get a scorer/ball handler, SOMEONE to take pressure of Kobe so he can do his work without having to play point guard. Also, Sonics you guys are playing great, you deserve to hoot and holar as much as you want, but lets keep it positive, dont kick a dog when its down , I really thought we could win this game, I cant believe nobody is stepping up on the Lakers.
The Sonics are really something this year...beating the Spurs twice already, also (I just noticed this). Good game. Kobe outperforms Ray, but the Sonics win...so my conclusion is for the Sonics to keep doing what they're doing, and for the OTHER Lakers to stop playing like they're in the preseason still and step it up. NOTE: Kobe outperforming Ray has nothing to do with the Sonics' victory. I'll hand that to Rashard and everyone else working together, and the fact that Kobe passed more than anyone out there (except for Ridnour) but no shots were falling for us, except for Kobe.
Ray v Kobe was a pretty even match-up overall when you consider shots and minutes but Rashard Lewis was simply unstoppable, packing 17 in the first quarter alone. He really was in the zone, draining every big three he put up. Watching the Lakers is like watching Tracy Mcgrady's Magic teams over the past 3 or 4 seasons. No one on that team can score or shoot consistantly. Trading Shaq for non shooters was a bad idea. Might as well post this picture, made me laugh
That's how chemistry wins games fellas. The Sonics were dynamite out there tonight, especially my boy Rashard. Bring on the Suns.
Good win for the sonics...some random thoughts - somebody in this thread said Ridnour is handsome lol...he might be handsome but his shooting numbers have been ugly lately...he still had 11 assists though, i give him that...the sonics had 28 assists, the lakers - 12 , no need to comment on that....Jerome James showing some flashes tonight, still had 5 fouls...Rashard Lewis is an all star and Danny Fortson, Radmanovic and A. Daniels are the best bench in the league...go sonics
I don't know what's gotten into Vlade this year but he's doing all the things I wish he'd done the past couple - maybe it's because he has a defined role this year, but beside's knocking down the 3 he's driving the ball (although he still gets stripped too much) and more impressively he's passing off the dribble, rebounding and playing solid D. I like how Nate leaves him in the 4th even if he's not shooting well. Anyway, nice win for the Supes although they let LA hang around a bit too long for my liking. Friday should be fun, hopefully the Sonics bench can provide the edge.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jurassic:</div><div class="quote_post">And if Kobe does go for 45 he will alienate his teammates and we will win by 15 .</div> Did I say 45? I meant 35, haha! Well we won, no surprise. It was fun watching the box score with play-by-play. Seeing Kobe try to outscore Shard near the end so that he could be the leading scorer . I am also very pleased with James' play, although I wont expect it every night. Go Sonics .
^ You were right about this one, Jurassic. Good prediction and it's still fun to watch die-hard Kobe fans blame everyone else but their God.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting BODY_COUNT:</div><div class="quote_post">^ You were right about this one, Jurassic. Good prediction and it's still fun to watch die-hard Kobe fans blame everyone else but their God.</div> Ill give you reason why I dont blame Kobe for the loss: -He has to play point guard and shooting guard -He was getting guys open and making the pass, nobody was making there shots, if you don't believe me look at the stats, the only 3 players that shot over 50% were 3 people, Kobe Jones and Butler. Atkins shot 25%, Odom shot 33%, Mihm shot 25%, ALSO might I add Atkins hit 1 of 7 threes. Kobe cant control how these guys shoot, he cant sit there and say keep your elbow at a 90 degree angle, push with your back hand and aim at the hoop. He cant do more than he is doing, he drives to the hoop, gets a a couple people to follow and passes it off, they miss, what can he do, nothing except take over which he did and got his 35/9/5. -He shot over 50%, 80% from the line He did his part, he did what he could and nobody can win by themselves, other people need to show up besides Kobe, you cant blame Kobe for people missing wide open shots, he can't blame them for missing lay ups, you can't and yet you do.
Guys will miss shots when you pass them the ball with 4 seconds on the shot clock, that's normal. And even if he got open shots for his teammates tonight, it's important how they handle the bad shooting night in the locker room. I'm gonna repeat myself, but it's important whether Kobe goes to his teammates and tells them "Everybody has a bad day" or gives them a bad look.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">``Too much focus was on Ray Allen tonight and I got a lot of open shots and I took advantage,'' Lewis said.</div> Looking at the Lakers, who is to blame for putting to much focus on Ray Allen as opposed to winning the game? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">``Even though it was Ray and Kobe ... I felt like Kobe was talking to us as a team. We're a team and we're going to back each other up.''</div> Good job Shard, some players clearly know how to play as a team. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Allen scored 26 points and gladly deferred to Lewis</div> Proof that you don't need to score more than what you average in a game by a lot in order to win (Ray averages about 24ppg). Sometimes you have to put the ball in others hands, but if they know you have an agenda it makes them nervous and not perform. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">the Lakers fell to 8-9 when their superstar is the leading scorer. </div> So basically when Kobe leads in scoring they lose more often than they win.
