Let the record show that I made this thread when he was on 25 points. I am a motherfreaking genius. (My motherfreaking is separate to my genius, though)
I was just about to make a thread on this while watching the game. He is having a phenominal season and definitely deserves it.
Real talk, but too many kids vote for vince carter, t-mac and other "stars" who aren't gettin it done this season.
Rashard Lewis, in my opinion, is playing like the best player on our roster. He is consistently making jump shots, he is our best low post threat, he is scoring in transition, he is helping out on the boards, and he is doing his best job ever defensively. I don't see anyone complaining that he's being overpaid now. When it is all said and done, his contract will look like a bargain. I can't say enough about this cat. He's playing as well as any small forward in the league and if he doesn't make the All-Star team I'll personally seek out the least deserving All-Star who made the team and make sure that their spot will become open for an alternate. Forget Allen, Lewis for MVP.
LOL , i'm with you... i remember a couple of years ago, steve francis started in the all star game and Gary Payton was left on the bench, even though GP was having a 20+ ppg 10+ apg season...francis had 0 points until the last second of the game when he made a three...GP had something like 18 points, 7 assists off the bench...i was mad back then, so I can understand where you're coming from now...it's good that Antoine Walker isn't in the west anymore because if he got picked in the all star game instead of Rashard, i'd go find him and beat his fat ass
Shard is great, but needs to grab more boards. There's really no reason for him to not be grabbing 10/game. Especially considering who our centers are.
This guy is an underrated reason to our current success. He's always threatened to burst out for big games once in a while, but the difference this season is he is doing it consistently. He is an All-Star at the moment, no doubt. The kid with all the talent is becoming a man.
I hope he makes it not just because he deserves it this year but because I'm hoping an All Star selection will elevate his game from from an inconsistent 17 and 7 to a consistent 20 and 8. This year he's added a baby hook and he's hitting daggers this year, like the Dallas game
