The Morning Journal Reports:<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">According to The Morning Journal, if the Cavaliers offer rookies Luke Jackson and Anderson Varejao to Milwaukee, the Bucks might deal shooting guard Michael Redd, one of the most coveted free-agents this coming offseason. Jackson and Varejao are just two of the many players that become eligable to be traded after transactions which occured during the offseason. In accordance to Article VII, Section 8d of the NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement, 'no player who signs a contract as a free agent or draft rookie may be traded before the later of three months following the date on which such contract was signed or December 15th of the salary cap year in which such contract was signed.' Over 130 players, in addition to Jackson and Varejao, signed in the offseason became trade eligable Wednesday.</div> Whole Story Wow... A backcourt of LeBron James and Michael Redd, that would be insane. The Cavs are already doing great this season, now think about adding Redd. Throw Ilgauskas and Gooden in the mix, that is a deadly team. I really don't think there would be many chemistry problems, because Redd does not demand many shots. All I know is, if that happens, that team is going to be deadly.
I understand that Milwaukee is struggling and it needs to make trades... I've thought all along they'd trade Mike before the season ends but never would I think they'd trade him for two rookies.
Whoa, Redd/James/Gooden that's a three man team killer, lol. But for two rookies? I'm skeptic about this rumor having any truth in it.
Well, that is why I posted a link. But the only reason is, Redd has said he will opt out for free agency next off-season. But, I would definately think they can get way better than two unproven rookies for him. He is a star, I don't see why the Bucks would be slightly interested. But I guess we will see.
Redd to the Lakers? <div class="quote_poster">Quoting purpleb0n9:</div><div class="quote_post">I understand that Milwaukee is struggling and it needs to make trades... What is his salary like this last year of his contract? Would he play with Kobe? Does he like little mexican girs?

A lot of teams won't give much in return either because of the risk of them leaving in free agency, so I could see how Cleveland would be reluctant to give up one of their big guns like Ilgauskas or Gooden. Also, I can understand from a Milwaukee standpoint that they'd want to get young talent, or maybe even draft picks. They need a long term solution, not a short term one. If this trade goes down, who would step up on Milwaukee though? Who would be their next go-to guy and leading scorer this season? Keith Van Horn? Desmond Mason?
That is the thing, the Bucks team is pretty much Michael Redd. Desmond Mason can bring fire to a team with some amazing dunks, but he can't be a team leader. Keith Van Horn is pretty much just progressively getting worse every year, I would not want to have to look up to him. I would understand wanting young talent, but Michael Redd is an All-Star, they can get way better than two rookies and possibly a couple of draft picks. There are many guys right now on the trading market. Shareef-Abdur-Rahim is still not satisfied in Portland, Jason Kidd supposedly wants out of New Jersey. There are many possibilities that would probably work out better for Milwaukee. If this trade were to happen, the Cavaliers would be a dominant team in the East for many years to come. They are already doing great this year, behinf the stellar play of LeBron James. You have two very good big men in Gooden and Ilgauskas, and Gooden still has many years in him. Then, you add an All-Star like Redd into the mix, that is just crazy. PG- McInnis SG- Redd SF- James PF- Gooden C- Ilgauskas On paper, that looks unnstoppable. Like I said also, I wouldn't predict and chemistry problems.
will not happen... a stupid trade and stupid thought. Redd belongs to the Bucks. and if he would be traded, Bucks would get something better than some BS rookies. The only thing I see is thats a decent trade would be Kidd for Redd. I cant think of any other good players wanting trade at the moment...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting whatthef?:</div><div class="quote_post">Does he like little mexican girs? </div> Come on, why would you take a shot at Kobe's wife? Leave her alone. As for that lineup, Pure, that looks crazy I'd say the already contending Cavs are going to be a real contender. Before the trade, I think their current lineup is strong enough to make a real push to the NBA Finals, with the only setback being the lack of playoff experience. Add Redd to the mix, they should be too unstoppable to let inexperience get in their way.
Wow. The Cavs would look really nice, but I doubt this will happen. Not a good idea for Milwaukie. You could trade Redd and get a lot more back than those two. No offense to either one of them, but they are after all, rookies. Not ones that aer getting a lot of attention either.
as a cavs fan, I don't want to lose that much youth on Redd. AV is staying in cleveland, well he better atleast.
VJ has been playing awesome, ecspecially vs. the Blazers last night. Also Newble is playing alright at the shooting guard spot right now. Luke Jackson is just some bench firepower. I dont even know if i would want to mess with the Cavs chemistry right now even though Redd is awesome.
Redd is very fun to watch. He has that great left handed stroke and is a great athlete. LeBron and Redd would be very hard to stop. It would be ashame though to see Jackson go though. He may be injurded but he could be something in the future with his good shooting.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Desmond Mason can bring fire to a team with some amazing dunks, but he can't be a team leader.</div> come on dude, he's actually the team captain so you've made yourself look foolish there

He's 25, he's got almost 10 more years where you can count on him being good, and the first five before he even starts declining. How many championships could the Cavs win by then if they have the rest of the pieces? Plus, like James he's an Ohio native, and like James, he's a great court personality. All effort and no selfishness. This move just makes so much sense for the Cavs, I think it's too good to be true.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting chingy0007:</div><div class="quote_post">I hope that happens. Then the Cavs would have a shot at winning the central!</div> What are you talking about??? They already have a great chance at winning the central. But I think that they would be great getting Redd. They alsowould be good if they keeped their chemistry the way it is.
