I posted this to another site and thought it would be good to chew on here too: I have this crazy theory........................... Fish is going to be involved in a trade. I don't remember hearing much about his injury and all of a sudden he's on the IL. We really never heard about him coming here and we may not know about him leaving either. Just seems weird he got injured right before the trading date. So here's my trade idea and maybe a little hope Fisher + injury + scouting bulls games= Chicago trades: PG Chris Duhon (4.2 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 4.6 apg in 24.2 minutes) PG Frank Williams (1.2 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.6 apg in 10.2 minutes) C Eddy Curry (13.6 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 0.8 apg in 27.2 minutes) Chicago receives: Luis Flores (No games yet played in 2004/05) PG Derek Fisher (9.6 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 4.1 apg in 24.4 minutes) Change in team outlook: -9.4 ppg, -6.9 rpg, and -2.9 apg. Golden State trades: Luis Flores (No games yet played in 2004/05) PG Derek Fisher (9.6 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 4.1 apg in 24.4 minutes) Golden State receives: PG Chris Duhon (4.2 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 4.6 apg in 24.2 minutes) PG Frank Williams (1.2 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.6 apg in 10.2 minutes) C Eddy Curry (13.6 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 0.8 apg in 27.2 minutes) Change in team outlook: +9.4 ppg, +6.9 rpg, and +2.9 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Chicago and Golden State being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Chicago and Golden State had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Or something like that......................................... Oh, and thanks to AP for the new AVI......................
Wow that would be tight. We give up nothing for the Bulls basically. Sounds too good to be true. We could then just sit Duhon on the IR, Keep Frank Williams in at backup guard, keep Curry on the bench (keep his value low), and just start Cliffy/Foyle over him.
I'm sorry, but that sounds a little more like an NBA live trade than an actual deal. What reason would Chicago have for doing that deal? Fisher has absolutely no trade value right now. The Bulls certainly aren't going to need him for his playoff experience. It's good that you're thinking out of the box, but I can't see any GM that's willing to trade for Fisher without Mullin first raising his trade value or giving up something else significant. If the Warriors threw in an unconditional #1 pick next year, then maybe you have something. But then the question becomes: would the Warriors be willing to get rid of a high draft pick just to get Curry in a W's uniform and Fisher off the books?

We need a center, but if we didn't start Curry, he would probably demand a trade
Fisher for Curry and Duhon? Nah...that's crazy. I wish the Lakers would start offering for Fisher. From what I've seen out of the Warrior games so far, he doesn't really create shots for anyone...right? If so, trade him back to us...because I don't understand why he's playing so poorly in GS...maybe he just wanted the money? Nothing against the Warriors...but they are losing badly...and maybe he doesn't like that (since he's not used to it). jk Warrior fans...but hey, we can give you Atkins for Fisher.

Oh, and thanks to AP for the new AVI......................</div> The Bulls would not do this trade first off they are close to trading Frank Williams to the Pistons the only problem is that Parker can not be traded before December 31st. Come that date I expect this trade to go down and the Bulls to waive Parker and who ever els ethey get in that trade since Parkers contract is not guarentteed and the other guy there suppost to get is making the minimum. Also this trade would not go down because Fisher has a big contract that he is signed to for the next several years the last thing the Bulls want right now. They are trying like most teams who do not have any hope of making the playoffs to empty out as much cap possible for this off season to make runs at players like Redd, Mobely, and to resign there own players like Chandler and Curry. Thirdly, they would not do this because they get absolutely nothing Change in team outlook: -9.4 ppg, -6.9 rpg, and -2.9 apg. Why would they do a trade that takes away from all there stats and does not give them any cap relief only a player who has a huge new contract, and a player who has not played all year. Lastely they would not do ths because why would they want Fisher he is a point guard they already have Hinrich set as the point guard of the future for the next several years, and they have him at a cheaper value at this point and he produces more than Fisher. When he hits free agency they will want money to resign him. Why would they want Fisher who would come off the bench and has less talent than Hinrich making more money than Hinrich for the next two years and then making decent moeny for the three years after that in a supporting bench role? I think this is a trade that Real GM accepted just because the contracts match up it would never happen in reality. Also they would give up Curry for nothing really, who would they have at center after that Davis who is a vetern and under sized? Or move Chandler from power forward a position he has been averaging nearly a double double at this season. If I was the Bulls TRADE DECLINED!

There is absolutely no way for Bulls to accept that deal, even if we don't receive anything in return. Nobody will take Fisher's contract. We overbid Houston, the team with Ward and Sura as a PG now, to attain Fisher, probably as a possible starting PG next year (ugh). Why would any team want to Fisher and his contract, when his contract is more expensive than what Houston was willing to pay? Like WT said, we need to throw an unconditional #1 pick (Dallas pick won't do) to get rid of Fisher's contract, and I am not even sure even that will do the job. I would love to see Fisher for Barry swap though, since Barry isn't exactly doing hot in there...
