So I was watching sportscenter and they showed Kobe's interview with the shootaround and they were drilling him on his image and his actions with shaq and crew. Kobe mainly said he would say he wanted to talk with Shaq about how he mentioned his name and such and say he was sorry for that.

He really say he holds no grudges agaisnt anyone and wished during the championship run that he kept a better relationship with other players in the league so they would judge them by him and not his rumors and such, anyone else see it?

I was busy watching the PTI interview, actually...where they were trying to get him to say what he would go back and do differently, what mistakes he has made, etc. [IMG]

Actually Kobe said he wants to apologize to Shaq

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1947289

But what's the use? I'm sure Shaq has moved on, why bring the subject up again? What's the past is the past, Kobe. But I reckon it would be very very nice if Kobe says about wanting to apologize AFTER he demolishes Shaq on Christmas. Let's say 47 pts to Shaq's 23 in a Laker victory and a facial on him.

Okay, I just saw the KIA Shootaround interview...and it's sad how they want to suck up as much info as they can just to screw him over like that. But...Steven A. was cool about it...so that's alright.

John Saunders rolled his eyes...but who's John Saunders, anyways? Haha.

    Yeah I?m back?
I was just going to PM Real.

Ok well I saw the NBA shoot around he was pretty good. He answered all the questions as fair as possible. I personally don?t like KB doing the interviews, especially with BSPN, but I understand that he is trying to clean up his image and all. He was very kool about all the questions and BSPN was fair. He wanted to thank everyone, fans and other NBA players, for their prayers and for their support

During the first part of the interview they asked him about Shaq, Karl, and Eagle. KB said that he apologizes to Shaq and his family for any trouble that he may have caused them because of the Eagle thing. He clearly stated that he couldn?t go into what was said in Eagle but that a lot of things were blown out of proportion the ****** media. He also said that he tried to reach Shaq but wasn?t able but thru a mutual friend he left a message and that he?s hoping that they could talk before the Xmas game. I can?t really remember what he said about Karl but I think it was the usual, he was a big brother and mentor but they should just go their separate ways (Karl is not coming back for sure).

During the second half he mostly talk about the team and how they are a close bunch and the usual. Nothing new.

At the end of the interview they ask the following questions:

Kobe's Top 5 in the league in no order:
Shaq, TD, KG, LBJ, and KB

    Kobe's Top 5 Teams
    Spurs, Sonics, Suns, Minnesota, Sac

If I missed anything please add? This is just what I can remember.

Kobe didn't name an East team as a top team...what a shamockery! He should just shut his mouth right now. And...the nerve...to say he wants to apologize! He's still trying to intimidate the big man.

    *end sarcasm*

I don't know how sincere Kobe is about the apology to Shaq, but he did say all the right things to help patch up his image. It's pretty tough to take on those type of questions when there are millions of viewers listening to what you say, but he handled himself well.

I didn't listen to the whole interview but the question about Karl hitting on his wife he politicianed around. He didn't quite answer that to clearly. But other then that it went pretty smoothly.

What does apologizing to Shaq have to do with losing his friends? Kobe's a family man now, he's a husband and a father, it's time for him to end all of these public spats and get on with his life. He wants to move on and be a professional athlete, thus the apology.

As much as I now like Shaq since he left L.A, Kobe is the one who has acted like a real pro when It comes to talking about Shaq. Who of which has taken alot of shots at Kobe this season and through the summer but Kobe has never fired back and got into shouting words with the big fella. At least Kobe is trying to clear the air with Shaq but I wouldn't count on Shaq accepting Kobe's apology.

^ During an interview (I think yesterday after the Wizards game), Shaq was visibly angry when a female reporter asked him about the Kobe apology. He was real silent and after about 6 seconds, he was like, "next question", ignoring her. She then asked him again (she's got balls, well I guess all reporters have to) about it, to which Shaq responded, "I don't think he (Kobe) said it at all... I don't know, I wasn't there."

I couldn't paste the video link of the interview but try to find it on this site:

    http://msn.foxsports.com/nba

it should be in the "free video" section. The title is "Shaq weighs in on Kobe".

To quote Shaq from yesterday after O'Neal was told of Bryant's apology and was asked if he had a response

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"No," O'Neal said. "None whatsoever."

"Listen, everybody that had something to do with me has been fired or traded or cut," O'Neal said. "My boy Rick Fox was cut, and he's out there doing bad movies."

Yeah, Kobe tap dance over a few questions, that one included. Also he never said why or how Shaq's name came up about him saying Oneal payed off females to stay silent. I dont know about you guys but that was the main question I wanted answer. I would love to know what led him to throwing salt on the next man, when he was the one in trouble not Shaq. But I guess we will never know.

Also I am not for sure I can buy into him wanting to apolozing to Shaq cause the answer he gave for not doing so up until now, was pretty much BS. He didnt have Shaq's #? come on now, there still some of people who are still associated with Shaq. And also still associated with Kobe due to their association with the Lakers. Brian Shaw, former Laker being one. He is very close to Shaq. And he is still involved with the Lakers organization. If Kobe was serious, then B.Shaw would have been the perfect person, he could have reached out to as a mediator between him and Oneal. There are other as well. So it makes me feel like the whole apology to shaq thing was just because he was put on the spot. I could be wrong...but thats my feeling

^We don't know that. Maybe Kobe has tried calling Shaq but he doesn't answer? Maybe Kobe knows that Shaq will just hang up on him? Or maybe Shaq is using the newest bestest Nokia phone out there with a new number.

I don't know, but why would Kobe call him and apologize? He said he was going to apologize to him in person before the game on Christmas day.

Like Henacy said, I actually wanted to know what led up to him saying that, I don't feel the apology is sincere in the sense that I think he's more sorry for it going public than for that fact that he said it.

Meh, he said sometimes he missed playing with Shaq because he makes the game easier for others on the team and said the Malone thing was leaked by someone from his camp.

I wonder how Bobbit feels about all this...seriously though, what's with Kobe talking to the media so much, it's like he likes them now or something lol
