Didn't expect that Carter is still so popular but as long as Hill gets a starting place as well, I don't care.

By the way, this is not the end-result, voting continues until Jan. 23.

Yeah, this alone proves that Kobe's image has really been tarnished. He's lost a lot of fans.

If Kobe doesn't start this year then it'll be the first time in a long time.

And as always, gee I wonder... how does Yao get so many votes?

Kobe will start at point, more than likely.

Player's who change conferences have a significant advantage in some cases, because they have the fans of their old team and their current team voting for them.

@Cody
All the listed players (except the two second in Center, Miller and Wallace, will start). There is no PG or SG, just guards and forwards in the allstar game.

And Yao has a huge fan base in China and fans with Chinese origin. Last year I was at a College and met about 10 students from China, they all know him and were surprised that I know him, all of them were of course big fans of him.

Yeah, I know that.

My comment on Yao Ming was sarcasm cuz he has all the chinese voting for him.

I'm surprised Carter is getting so many votes, since many Raptors fans are dissapointed with him, I've been voting for Jamison and Hill. I remember the whole stupidness about him having Canada behind him, but only and idiot would say that considering not even half the people in Canada care about basketball that much, and the State of Cali alone has more people than Canada [IMG]

It's no surprise that LeBron James is leading all guards in the East. This was very much expected. However I?m a little surprised that he isn?t leading the whole thing.

The surprise vote getter thus far is Grant Hill. I thought majority of the NBA fans would vote most entertaining player (but then again they did, Carter leads the forwards), not the comeback player. But nonetheless, I'm very happy that Hill is up there, he really deserves it.

East

PG- Allen Iverson
SG- LeBron James
SF- Grant Hill
PF- Vince Carter [IMG] (We need a PF! The Basketbrawl really hurts JO votes)
C- Shaquille O'Neal

West

PG- Kobe Bryant
SG- Tracy McGrady
SF- Kevin Garnett
PF- Tim Duncan
C- Yao Ming

I didn't expect VC to be up there, I knew he wouldn't get number 1, but I guess due to the lack of household name forwards in the east, he still gets the nod there.

Very Surprised LeBron isn't top 2 in voting.

Grant Hill would play PF Avery, he's 6'9, Carter is 6'6, it would make more sense.

This just makes me mad. All NBA fans care about is getting to see a no defense game. I know it is the All-Star game and people are looking for a show, but isn't that why they have the dunk contest. I am all for players just going out there and simply having fun, but the voting is ludacris. I am sick of hearing Carter's name every year the All-Star game comes around. He has not done anything but be unjured the last few seasons. I don't see why Yao is leading either, I can name a handful of players that have been better than him.

Mmmm...isn't that what All-Star games are msotly about, players aren't going out in All-Star games to get injured, it's a fun game, not like how the Rookie game was which was just stupid, but it's like a pickup game.

Unless you want Bruce Bowen and Trenton Hassell to make it lol

He's pretty high up there, but the other good and popular G's have been in the East with Iverson and Tmac, so Kobe hasn't had that much comp outside of Francis.

This year he has Tmac who would have his former fans + his new fans from Houston, so it would make sense for him to be on top. Why do you think Carter has always won, his competition has been Richard Jefferson, Good Boy Artest, Jermaine O'neal, Grant Hill, Shareef, Glenn Robinson, now who do you really expect people to vote for there lol

He has 1 billion people behind his back; what do you expect?

I hope Jamison makes the allstar team. He deserves to be on it the most. Unfortunately, Vince is hogging all the votes.

So am I. I`m really glad to see him back 100% and now on his way to the All-Star game.

So do I lol. He has led the Wizards to one of the best teams in the East. He really deserves to make the East team.

Don't worry. There's a decent chance that Vince will either be injured or playing in the West by the All-star break.

No real surprises I am surprised Hill is so close to carter conisdering the huge fan base Carter has had over the years. I am dissappointed Francis will not be starting the all star game this year I kind of new Bron would start, but was just in denial in hopes of Francis starting. Most of the choices are obvious other than that Kobe and Mcgrady out west with KG and Duncan, and Yao and his huge "fan base".

Honestly hough it is getting kind of sad seeing Yao start every year, because the ballot box gets flooded with votes for him from China. He is playing the best of the western centers right now, but no way the difference in votes should be so many or that he should eb leading the west in all star voting.

Hopefully these are not the final standing for starters when the poll closes I do not think Carter deserves to start good to see that if the polls closed today Hill would be starting rather small lineup though what would they do Hill at SF and Carter at PF vs Duncan and KG they will get dominated.

I'm glad to see people are considering Grant Hill in the running for the All-Star game.I'm rooting for him to make the All-Star Roster myself,so he can have a terrific comeback year...being an All-Star would definetly make that come true.

Anyone else feeling me on this too?
