Instead of winning the spot with superior play, or leaping into the void when a starter went down, the Spaniard couldn't help but feel he was the instrument of coach Jerry Sloan's punishment. Lopez was promoted to the starting lineup when Sloan decided to bench Carlos Arroyo after their courtside argument during Tuesday night's win over the Clippers.</div>

    yea well, but for who?

raul lopez is a good player, but he is at best a bench player, so who do we actually get him for?

    Yeah...Arroyo for who?
He really impressed me in the Olympics. His movement, his passing, everything!
I think he needs a short time to get back to his form and the Jazz will be back on track.
Now the Jazz are just having trouble with injuries and Arroyo and Giricek are really losing their forms...

A lot of people don't believe it, but I think Keith McLeod is capable of starting and doing a good job for Utah every game. He's proven it at the start of the season. Arroyo's best days are ahead of him, and he should be good trade bait. He signed a 4 year, $16 million deal during the previous offseason, so teams know that he wont bolt at the end of the season and he wont be a contract they wont to get rid of during his stay.

Also, thoughts on this possible trade? Just a trade idea I quickly thought up [IMG] .

    Utah Trades

    Carlos Arroyo
    Matt Harpring

    Utah Receives

    Jason Terry
    Josh Howard

Obviously, Utah would be best to do this when AK47 is back and healthy and Harp's trade value is high. Salary cap wise, it works. Jason Terry has been put on the bench with the arrival of Darrell Armstrong, and might ask for a trade soon.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">We, as Jazz fans, do need to understand no matter how much we want John Stockton is not going to walk through the Delta Center doors, while Arroyo fans need to understand that the team does not revolve around Arroyo. Do we need to trade Arroyo, I don't think we should, because I know how he can play and play in the offense to make this team better. He is one of the better defensive player on this team. I hope Arroyo can work it out and get back to the player he was, but I do hope he understands that Coach Sloan is the Coach.

I posted that on another forum.

^^ Great post. Arroyo is a good player, who would be a starter on a number of teams, but I question just how involved with the Utah Jazz he is. He was better last season at both running the Jazz and his individual play, and some might say his effort and motivation has dropped after cashing in. I don't think his experiences at the Olympics helped him mentally either, for Puerto Rico he was simply the man, but on the Jazz he's not, part of the reason he didn't respond to the benching and argument with Sloan particulary well. However I still think he will improve over the season, just depends on factors surrounding Arroyo.
