These are the same people that wrote that article about Shaq testifying against Kobe that was taking shots at Shaq yet all of you laughed it up.

    Do I sense hypocrisy?

Why did you guys even bother to read the article. From the beginning he said "Im a Shaq guy." from than on you knew what the rest of the article was going to be about.

Here ya go...compare it to his incredibly well-written article...

    -------------------

    Dear Jason:

Hey, buddy. How ya doing? My name is Brandon Neal. I'm a 21-year-old basketball fan. I bleed purple and gold. We've never formally met; and, to be quite honest, I don't like you. I'm a Kobe guy. The best player in the league just always seemed more real than you. I didn't like the way you wrote about Kobe. Yes, he has a bad reputation, and he should just avoid guys like you. But Kobe is a good guy; and had you shown him the proper respect, I would be giving you the respect you want.

Hey, let me get to the reason I'm writing. I'm not writing to bash you. I'm writing because my opinion of you...hold on, I'm writing because my dislike toward you has increased considerably every time I read your article. I feel sorry for you. It seems as if your whole world rotates around degrading Kobe Bryant. Not one Laker fan likes you. You've pushed your pen too far down the paper. Even a mild-mannered guy, myself, doesn't like you.

You need a topic, Jason. You need a story. You need a different, more-vulnerable celebrity in your life to provide you with some gossip. I'm one of the toughest Laker fans to break down on the internet. I'll pair your article with pure and utter ignorance. I figured I could turn your stories into something more valuable, since Kobe is, by my understanding, completely worthless to you.

I know that Shaq has been sharing his opinions. But Shaq is a little...fake. He isn't what interests you at this time. You need some controversy from a young athlete who had a great reputation, a love for the game. You remind me of John Saunders. Do you watch NBA Shootaround, Jason? It's a waste of time on BSPN. Kobe haters love it. Saunders is a biased analyst from BSPN. He, like you, makes a living discussing NBA "dirt", but jealousy, ambition and a lack of respect caused him to attack Kobe. Saunders did all sorts of dumb crap and crossed lines by asking Kobe ignorant questions. He put him nose in Kobe's business because he thought he was smarter than Kobe Bryant.

Jason, you don't want to end up like John Saunders. He can't get a damn thing out of Kobe. Had Saunders sought the maturity of Magic and the TNT crew, he would have a better job than he does right now.

Obviously, Jason, you're in a different game than John Saunders. But the game you're in has stakes that are just as high, maybe even higher. You're in a game called manipulation, and you're playing it all wrong. Actually, you're just getting played. Shaq, your old savior, has you strung all the way out. That multi-million dollar extension the Heat plan to give him is a gigantic mistake. And talking trash on a more-talented, pure athlete instead of one who has hardly any talent at all is a colossal error.

Kobe has the upper hand. You know this. You can't write a decent article without him. You make matters considerably worse by admitting that you're a Shaq guy. Look, I don't care what you told us Laker fans. I don't care what you told the Heat fans or the other analysts from BSPN. You should've never confessed your love for Shaq. When it comes to extracurriculars in your articles, it is far better to live a lie than to suffer the consequences of the truth. Ask Phil Jackson, the author of "The Last Season: A Team in Search of its Soul."

Shaq will eventually be pushing your buttons for the rest of your writing career. He's not going to get it done. He can't. Jerry and Mitch didn't attempt to keep him. Your favorite player tried to bait the Lakers into some harmful extension.

    "This is Shaq's team."

What was Wade supposed to say? He thinks he's jabbering with a teammate, so he cracks a joke. Shaq blew this thing out of proportion by disagreeing because he's still angry at Bryant. A second round exit in the East playoffs won't take the pain or jealousy away. The only things that will ease that pain and jealousy are a championship ring and double Shaq's money.

Jason, your writings won't stop making you look like a fool until you open your eyes and see that Shaq has you on a leash, feeding you BS each and every day. He's going to have you making tons of enemies for the rest of your life. He'll give you a comment and tell you that Kobe said it. You'll catch him with a few other girls and he'll say that they are there to see Kobe. Don't be surprised if he starts talking trash on Odom's past in Los Angeles or how great Michael Doleac is. He's probably writing another song about Kobe so he can pay off his women in Miami.

He wouldn't let you sleep at night, because he'd have you writing articles about his "success" in Florida. You're on the road, 1,400 miles away, and he's got your number. It doesn't matter how many times you talk to him on your cell phone. It doesn't matter how many text messages you send. You are whipped, and you compounded the error by writing. He's happy and satisfied.

Jason, you need to learn to keep your nose out of our business. You believe too much. Damn, dude, when you hear one thing out of Shaq's mouth, you write an article regarding the person he's dissing, and you drag that person's reputation through the mud. You're making a fool out of yourself, Jason.

Tell Shaquille O'Neal: no more comments. Quit talking to him. Stay off of his jock. Wade and Jones are great guys, but five unintelligent quotes from Shaq are just five more stories for you. And, my God, what were you thinking when you even wrote your article praising Shaq and dissing Kobe? I know your buddy in California, Malone, is one guy you feel is on your side. But he's playing you, too. Every time you take a stab at Kobe's reputation, you're just putting money in yours and his pocket, but also making yourself look ignorant.

Jason, there's a big difference between a man who writes the truth and a man who fights the truth. How do you write articles when you spend all day and all night fighting the truth, just to put some extra cash in your pocket?

You owe us Laker fans an apology. If you didn't leave your brain at home before you went to work, us Laker fans would've never questioned your article.

    Your friend,

    Brandon

Me Too, I read his messed up article yesterday. To even think he has the right to put his name in the sentance as Kobe's is ridiculous. Then he goes and says he could be Kobe's big brother. That's the problem everyone wants to control Kobe, they are all jealous of him. It is so obvious.

Here is this bum's email. Everyone write him and tell him what you think!

Here's my email to this bum

Well you think your name belongs in the same sentence as Kobe Bryant's. You think you could be his mentor. Let me remind you of reality, you are a writer. Kobe is World Champion basketball player. You write and make hundreds of thousands a year (If you are lucky). Kobe plays Ball and makes Millions. Let's see no one would claim you raped them, because your not famous or rich enough. Also let me remind you of another stark reality, you are never going to be in charge of Kobe Bryant. You have to write about him. He doesn't write about you. You have to drop his name, he doesn't write yours down, ever. I think you need to take a long hard look in the mirror. What do you see? Do you see a jealous weak man? Do you see someone who wish's they could play ball as good as Kobe? Do you see someone who wishes they could hang out with Kobe and be his big brother?
I think one day you will realize that this article that you wrote was a mistake in your life, that you don't even belong in the same sentence as Kobe. I think you should keep mentoring people. That's a good thing. But until you raise yourself a son that is 1/1000th as successful in life as Kobe then you can talk, to YOUR son! Teach him six languages too, just like Kobe's dad did for him. Raise him in Italy. Have yourself your own little Kobe. Since you think you deserve to be Kobe's dad.
    Happy Holidays!!
    Go Lakers!

Kobe haters continue to amaze me. The degree of hatred they possess is scary... where is it coming from? Good luck with your letters, Neal and Irishladdie. [IMG]

Despite it's ugly intention, that article was actually not that bad - an amusing read at the very least.

Now, forgeting the fact that it was an ill-mannered article, what do you guys think of the actual advise this Jason guy is trying to give Kobe? Here's a better, soft-spoken Kobe-you-need-to-shut-up article:

    http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...=bayless/041217

Do you guys think Kobe in fact talked too much? That he escalated situations by making comments to reporters?

Oh yeah, I hope you guys do realize that what Brandon did was replacing some bits and pieces from the article and inserting his own Kobefied comments... So in a sense, when you praise his letter, you're actually just praising Jason's writing...

Some bits and pieces? Every sentence is different. I wrote each one out similar to his intentionally, but the theme of my letter is pointing fingers in the opposite direction.

I don't feel Kobe talked to much. All he did was set the records straight. No matter what he said, the media would have blown it out of proportion. The media is very anti Kobe now. For proof turn it on BSPN or log on to their website.
