Has anyone noticed how Damp is back to playing his normal career numbers of 8ppg and 7rpg? He started the season off great, then dipped back down to his comfort level. Can you believe this? Now who is questioning signing this guy to that huge contract. Sure, it MIGHT have been worth it if he played like he did last year and improved on it, but the fact is the guy was playing for a contract. Good riddance Damp...

Could it also be because he's playing on a team who has the leading candidate for MVP in Nowitzki??? Who's taking most of the teams shots.

Damp has helped the Mavs alot, creating defensive intensity and a presence inside.

Damp did not get his points off getting passes in the low post. He got his point off put backs and offensive rebounds. His numbers are right back where they are supposed to be...

Damp still got touches number of times, when he was with us. And, frankly, that was our only postup game last year, which was rather effective. Also, although Nelson loves to go small, Dampier isn't exactly getting a treatment like Bradley or number of centers he ignored... yet. Besides, I would rather have Dampier than our projected to be a starting center, who gets 2 mils per year less than Dampier...

I miss Damp. We are lacking post power and this game vs. Houston we are going to need post power

Also, some defense presence in the middle. Seems like other teams can shoot layups without any fear. Robinson is an excellent post up defender, but then he isn't exactly good at scaring other guards from going inside. How sad that we are looking for Dampier like center right after he left...

I question whether some of our players on our roster are worthy of being starters on other teams.

To this point, does anyone think that Foyle's play has even somewhat warrented his off-season contract?

Ehh. Maybe. That was a really stupid move by Mullin. He resigned Foyle to a $16 million dollar contract to replace Erick Damier. After that season, you should be able to see that none of the Warriors players could possibly replace him. For such a big contract, you'd expect Foyle to play more often.

I love that Uncle Cliffy is starting, but I think if you payed Foyle his huge contract, that the Warriors need to honor his contract.

A good way to have Foyle play more and be more valuable to the Warriors, we need to play him off the bench like we did with The Custodian.

I just think that if the Warriors are going to pay a man $16 mil but not play him hardly at all, then just need to get rid of him. I say this even though I feel that we need Foyle...

    Couple of points:

    1. First of all, as always, I agree with everything that Kwan said. If Damp were on the Warriors right now, he'd instantly be the team's best post scorer and interior defender.

    2. I'd certainly take Damp at his current contract over Fisher and Foyle, and in doing so, I'll also have to say that I was totally wrong about Foyle. I looked at Foyle's numbers over the last three years in games where he played more than 30 minutes and thought he'd be able to do that on a regular basis. Going by that logic, he should be averaging a double double right now, clearly he's underperforming.

    3. When Damp went to Dallas I said there was no way he'd be able to duplicate his numbers from last season, but it wasn't because he was getting paid. As Mr. Wade pointed out, Damp is playing with a much better team. I was sure (just like I was sure that Foyle would be putting up 11/10...) that Dirk, Finley, and at the time, Nash would be taking most of the shots. And consequently, Damp would fall back into his old pattern (circa '02/'03) of getting frustrated with the team, picking up two quick fouls in the first quarter and calling his coach "Nellie-head" after the game.

The amount of touches Damp gets on offense drives how hard he rebounds and defends. It's not right, in a perfect world Damp would know his role is to play defense and rebound, but Damp is only human. Trust me, Damp's rebounding numbers won't pick up until he's getting 30-35 minutes a night and 8-10 touches a game, just the way he was getting in Oakland last year.

    4. Damp has never been known as a cerebral player. If he was still with the Warriors, who's to say he'd be able to pick up Montgomery's offense and defense? Maybe neither Damp nor Foyle are a good fit for a Montgomery team and the Warriors were screwed either way. Just some food for thought.

We are getting killed in defense rebound tonight. And, that's with the best SG rebounder and a double digit rebounding PF. Simply amazing...

That's becuase they should've played Foyle more minutes tonight, we wer basically slow as hell to the boards. We need some dominant inside play. Foyle blocked 3 shots, that looked good in this game atleast. I know Foyle should be able to get 10/10 every night. I guess his timing is just off, but on the good side check out his blocking ability. He's just awesome. Coach Monty should give him more minutes.

At this point, Foyle looks like very unathlatic Pietrus out there. Not only he looks clueless, he seems to be badly out of the shape for some reason. If it were other players, I would just assume that he is being lazy after getting big contract, but it's hard to believe that Foyle will pull that stuff. Maybe Wiz's game will be the beginning of turning point and he will start to earn his new contract...
