I think this is a move for the future. The Raptors will have 3 first rounders and allready have a young nucleus to work around. I think this kid of move may be a move that only the GM can see. Btw, there are mad heads at this forum and rightly so.
Shareef has 2 functioning Kidney's and isn't 34 years old though, but Reef doesn't have 2 draft picks. Apart from the toughness inside and the picks the Nets lose nothing, ZO wanted to leave, Aaron Williams was getting 7.9 MPG, and Eric Williams, well he's a 32 year old hard worker.
maybe Bosh's big game against the wolves the other day was a sign...24/14 he knew vince was gone, and he had to step up...
As it is now, we still will be well over the cap for the next few years. Babcock HAS to trade Jalen Rose and Marshall to free up cap room somehow. We need a new image for this team. Hopefully Zo fails the physical.
I don't know what to think about this trade. This trade is definitly looking towards the future. I wanted more than what we got. But oh well...we get size and we have proved that we can win without Carter. But i really think that another deal is coming. We need to get rid of one person, we have too many players as of now. So a definite trade could happen or we can just waive Moiso, but i'm hoping for a trade.
How stupid is this? With this trade, it seems as if Babcock is the worst GM in Raptor history already. You trade away the franchise's face of seven years, and receive a few role players in return? Honestly, I would never do that, no matter how bad Vince is doing. Mourning is old. Eric Williams is old. Aaron Williams is nice to have, but is he going to make a big impact? The two draft picks will never be lottery, and it's likely Babcock would ruin them anyways, as he did this summer with the drafting of Araujo. All three Nets players are unhappy, and this changes our team demography. Our frontcourt now consists of Bosh/Mourning/Williams/Williams/Bonner and Woods. Of those three, Woods/Bosh/Bonner are likely our future and there is no doubt they will lack minutes with three veterans in the lineup. If we are going to build around Bosh, we should at least give him minutes to improve? Babcock=Stupid

Now, I doubt the league passes a trade of a injured player, but I not 100% how that works. Anyway, Zo doesnt have any major injuries his body just aches. And he got a sprained finger, but not a biggy cause he was playing thru that. Anyway, they say that Toronto was pretty deseprate to get rid of VC, so they are pretty much willing to do this deal at all cost. Espn news says Carter is even falling out with teammates now.

Rose and Marshall would fill to holes for the Heat. We need to trade them because Donyell won't be back, and Jalen will get frusterated and won't play well. Even though we'll get Eddie back, we might get Dorrell Wright too. No Dorrel, no deal though.
again...i wanted vince out of town as much as anyone...but not THIS bad. this is just horrible. how can this be a move for the future when the only expiring contract we get out of this is eric williams? and what are the nets thinking? with the money vince makes couldnt they have thrown an offer to keep k-mart? this is a sad day for the raptors franchise.
I heard one of the picks is Top 3 protected and the other Top 8 protected. EDIT: Nevermind, they're Denver and Philly's picks, so let's just hope they do bad
Wow. My cousin just called and told me, this trade is most likely going to be approved. I don't know why you guys aren't really happy with this trade, I love it personally. It's as if you guys are going to weep and moan over every trade that was going to occur. First, the Rahim trade, some people were moaning over that even though it was an excellent trade and now, even though this trade looks less appealing then the Portland one, people are moaning over this. Carter wasn't really producing that well with us and inexchange for him we got the things we desperately needed: BIG MEN. Alonzo, however old he may be, provides the toughness inside that we've longed for fo so long and in case you guys haven't seen him play, he looks good o nthe court out there. Not to mention that Woods will be a backup center now so that means that he can produce well off the bench as well. Aaron Williams is HUGE and is an excellent rebounder as well so we got a good deal in getting him. Eric Williams is a solid bench veteran and we need a guy like him as well. I must say, on paper, the deal looks great (not as good as the Portland trade) but I won't be quick to say "playoffs" immediately because it could not pan out. But, this definetly gives us an extra boost on our front lines and a more complete roster. Now, as for Carter, he must be all smiles. did anyone forget that Jason Kidd is in New Jersey? And once Vince gets healthy....watch out. This really will be Carter's year if the Nets manage to do well with Carter, Jefferson and Jkidd. That is a serious front corut. I can just see it now, Kidd and Carter hooking up to 3 alleys per game. Great move for Carter, this will be his time to shine now and if he doesn't produce then we know he's really fallen off. Jason Kidd makes his teamates better so I'm sure New Jersey, along with Vince Carter will appreciate this new team. I know Vince will definetly love playing with Jkidd and the chances to rejuvenate his career now are limitless.
bosh is the man now ,, he'll take about 25 shots a game now...and jalen will still jack up around 20 shots a night now 2.
Bosh can't handle a double team and hasn't shown himself to be capable out efficiently passing out of them even though they hardly [hardly] ever come, he's also not that good a passer yet, and he still struggles agaisnt phyiscal opponents. Let's ease him into the role as opposed to forcing him to do things he's not ready to do and hurting his development.
^^, Nah, I say throw him into the fire. The reason why Bosh developed so quickly is that he played significant minutes right away. Might as well get him used to the idea that he is now the leader of the team and let him learn early in his career. I'm tired of all this "let him develop slowly" crap. If the player doesn't play, he can't develop. If he's not given the responsiblity of carrying the team, he wouldn't learn how to do that as well.
Yes, their's fire then their's throwing him into a volcano without ACME special edition volcano boots, let him be a more important part of the offense, but don't make him play a role of a primary scorer/playmaker, that's different from playing the role as a starter. Give him 13-15 shots a game, let the team not have a defined "1st option" but just have a few main option who will be Alston, MoPete I guess, and Bosh.
It means what is says, if we have Denver's pick and it is top 10 protected then if Denver get's the 9th pick they keep it. Anything less than 10th and we get it. If a pick is lottery protected then it's top 14th protected.
Merry Christmas, New Jersey. Even though they lose a lot of front court depth, getting Carter will ignite Richard Jefferson and maybe even change Kidd's mindset. It just seems as if the Raptors got desprate or something. The Reef deal was a lot better then this one was, maybe they ae just trying to bulk up their front court. Its funny how this came out of the blue, nobody ever mentioned the Nets as intrested in Carter.
