okay personally i think this trade addresses our weakness, we get our first ever legit center (whether he wants to be here or not), we got aaron williams whom i wanted since he was in vancouver and we add defensive toughness in eric williams. the draft picks are amazing remember the eddie griffin trade (richard jefferson and jason collins)

but who really cares? we traded away the franchise, the face of the franchise. lets remember the dude; how he bent over backwards promoting the city, the 50 point game against philly, the 51 on national tv, the game winning threes, the times he made us laugh, the time he made us throw things, the times he made us scratch our head (i don't want to dunk anymore, its overrated). vince thanks for the memories, much love and good luck in new jersey. and btw, good luck with marriage and fatherhood.

I just do NOT understand this deal for the Raptors. they could've gained 50 more million dollars if they did the Rose/VC to the Knicks deal. And now the Raptors are going to struggle to fill the seats with no superstar caliber player. This move makes me shake my head.

Thank you Air Canada, you supplied Toronto with numerous highlight reels that will always be remembered, I hope you have a great career in New Jersey and never forget the team that made you who you are today.

Thanks for the memories. You may wear a different jersey but you will always be remembered as a Raptor. [IMG]

Yeah. Good memories VC. Even though all i really watched of you was SC and maybe on TNT once or twice. But you were good in Toronto but NJ seems to fit you. In a strange, odd, retarted way.

Although i'm not frok Torontom thanx for the memories as a raptor, i remember when i was little and i was watching nba magazine on TV, and your name was always mentioned 3 or 4 times, and you were always the number one play, that is how i started playing basketball, watching you do your thing in a Raptors jersey, it is sort of wierd to see you in a Nets jersey, but i'll get used to it, i hope you start off fresh as if it was another rookie year, please prove the doubters wrong and me included because i have lost faith in you also.

Vince - You made me watch basketball. You made me start playing basketball. You brought me out of my seat so many times and provided so many great memories. I've been with you since your rookie year and I am gonna miss you in Toronto.

Vince - You will always be Half Man - Half Amazing. I wish you the best.

I've posted this 3 times before but it basically sums up my feelings:

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">
It's actually saddening for me to see Carter go. Believe it or not, he was one of the reasons I fell in love with basketball as much as I did. I remember seeing him play in 99 and knew we finally had something special in our hands.

But, as time drifted, critiscm and doubt filled all our minds. But nonethless, I got all the memories on tape.
The times when Carter literally had the NBA and North America in his palms. The days when bashing Carter would get you a bashing yourself.
The days when Carter was considered better or just as good as Tracy, Kobe. The days when he was considered by many as the best shooting guard in the league.

So, I bid Vince farewell, I'll always remember him for the memories he gave me in his first 3 years in Toronto. The last 3 and a half years haven't been as pleasant but they are still worth mentioning. What Carter did for Canada and basketball popularity here won't be replaced for some time to come.
I personally will miss him for what he did but in a way, I'm glad to see him go. This drama is behind us and we can start playing basketball with a stronger inside presence now and it's time for the Chris Bosh show to evolve...

Meanwhile, Vince has a GREAT chance to rejuvinate his career, next to Jason Kidd. I smell a comeback. Good luck Vince.
    </div>

I'll miss him definetly, he got me so interested in basketball and he gave hope to an otherwise dead franchise back in 1998. So Vince, farewell, we'll miss you.

"Vince Carter! Oh, Vince Carter with a whirling derby! That's...one of the best....you'll EVER see..."

^ I'll never forget that 360 slam against the Mavericks in late December 1999. Hard to believe that was 5 years ago...

Thanks for the Memories Vince. You have done so much for basketball in general in Canada and your highlight reel plays will be sorely missed. Best of luck in Jersey.
